I visited Live Aqua 9/25 to 9/29. The resort is beautiful. The hotel and grounds are spotless. The beach was full of seaweed and the water wasn’t clear had to step in and out. The water was brown despite all the cleaning. The pools are crystal clear and very clean. The hotel wasn’t crowded which was great for me with Covid. The food is the only complaint I have. The meals they serve you everywhere are warm and lack variety. Hot food makes such a difference with steam coming off of it not pre-cooked sitting on a warmer. The food is also bland where is the seasoning? I don’t eat fast/fried food home and there was quite a bit of it. The menu needs to be reevaluated with more food and more grilled options. I was so disappointed with lobster being listed and not being available for purchase the entire trip. The food is definitely the downfall with the resort please step it up or offer the vip option where people can pay for upgraded food and drinks without staying inside suites. The drinks I also found were watered down. Also on the night of 9/28 I visited the Italian restaurant and the couple seated next to me from the time they walked in staff greeted them and catered to them like royalty. The chef even cooked a special meal for them with a huge seasoned salmon and big grilled shrimp served them and then sat with them at table talking to them for the longest. Nothing like this was on the menu I received. I was disappointed and kind of hurt as I asked before my seating could something special be done for a birthday that night in my group and I was told it would of had to be arranged 24 hours in advance with the front desk. I went to the front desk and they told me it was fine after making me wait for about 20 minutes they would have a cake there. Dinner came and went no acknowledgement no cake no special meal no happy birthday. The birthday guest received tasteless spaghetti and cocktail shrimp. There was cake and champagne placed in my room on the wrong night. A special thank you to the staff especially Elvis he served me at the Dominican and French restaurants the only hot food I had that was very good. The Dominican restaurant needs to open up for dinner not just lunch. I was looking for more of home cooked Dominican style food daily for the Dominican experience. Miguelina is so sweet and went out of her way to serve us by the beach. Yoga gel in Liberi was a great server also very attentive and pleasant. Yulisa in the sports bar was very nice also. I would like to mention that the staff works so hard and I couldn’t believe the guests don’t tip them. I spoke with many of the staff life is hard everywhere especially in these times. To all the future visitors even though it is required please show the staff your appreciation by tipping they deserve it and depend on it to survive.

We've been there for 12 days and we enjoyed every each of them without getting bored or annoyed by anything. We had a swim up room with shared pool and a jacuzzy which looks really nice and fancy. The size of the rooms are big enough and bright. The food in each restaurants were excelente. Our favourites were the french and the italian one. Just make sure to take sth warm to wear with you because the ACs in the restaurants are on maximum. Overall the hotel and its facilites are high class and luxury but it would be nothing without the amazing staff in live aqua. From the reception to the restaurant staff, cleaning and waitress. They all were amazing friendly, helpful and professional. They made our stay in the resort so much better. I could name here actually all staff members of the hotel, because each of them made us feel home there. The ones who entertained and made us having fun day by day were the entertainment guys around Francisco, Luis, DDDDDJ David, Juan and (maybe tomorrow) Wilson. Especially the last two guys brought us so much joy in our stay, they took amazingly care of us. And those guys were the reason why we used our swim up pool so rare because we didnt want to miss the entertainment shows of them in the main pool. So muchas gracias a todos for everything. The resort is beautiful with very pleasant staff members and perfect Aqua Club amenities befitting the facility. Our Aqua Club swim up room was perfectly located near the beach and Mediterranean restaurant. We had a glimpse of the sea and the pool area with a nice amount of shrubbery to provide some semblance of privacy from the guests in that area. The best part of the swim up location was that a bar server was walking along the sidewalk near our swim up. My husband asked her over (through the grass and light shrubbery) and she kindly took our drink orders from our private pool and checked on us several times thereafter for subsequent orders. Yes, we tipped very well, but to have that service as an impromptu offering was totally amazing!

Hi everyone. Pleased to provide my review of Live Aqua. I will only provide details and information about the resort itself in this review. For any other general info about my trip, please refer to my "Live from Live Aqua" thread still active on the PC Forum which is a daily account of my trip. Pictures were also provided during that week so you can find all of them on my profile. For ease of reading, I will break down my review into sections. CHECK-IN: I arrived just before 3pm and unfortunately my room wasn't ready. I was told to return in about 20 mins so I took a walk to the beach. When I returned, my room was ready. I booked a Premium King Bed Pool view room. I had requested a top floor room in bldg 4 and was happy that I was provided the same but in bldg 6, which is typically reserved for Aqua Club guests as it is much closer to the beach and also provides a partial ocean view. Once checked-in, a concierge, grabbed my suitcase and drove me in a cart to my building/room and explained everything about the room. The resort was approx. 50% occupancy and the guests were in the 20-60 age group for the most part. Lots of younger couples which was nice to see for a higher end resort. The guests are mostly Americans (maybe 80%). Very few Canadians. This is a modern type resort with approx. 370 rooms located in 8 different buildings. FOOD/RESTAURANTS: The resort has lots of food options in addition to 24/7 room service. The buffet (Liberi) is only open for breakfast. It does provide a very nice start to your day with 4 omelettes/eggs station and the assortment of fruits, salads, cheeses, breads and pastries and smoothies bar. For lunch, you have the sports bar (Compton St) which is also open all day until 2 am, ATL (Dominican), Wonderpool (the pool bar restaurant located in the courtyard), Huzur (Mediterranean) located on the 2nd floor of the main pool building, and Miraflores (Sea Food) located on the beach. For dinner, you have Seishin (Japanese a la cartes and Teppenyaky), Sospiro (Italian), ATL (Dominican/Mexican) and Chez Rose (French). All meals at lunch and dinner are a la cartes and no reservations required. I must say that the food was pretty much the best I have experienced at any resort and the service top notch. Never any lengthy delays for anything and my glass of wine was always topped up. All menus are available by QR Code but there is also a link to a website where all menus are located as well as all information about the resort. You also have the coffee shop which provides many deserts and small sandwiches day and evenings. Dress code for all restaurants is very relaxed. Most men wore bermudas, sandals/flip-flops and t-shirts. Many of the ladies however, dressed up very nicely. ROOM: I was in a Premium King Bed Pool View room which is also partial ocean view in building 6, the closest building to the beach other than the 2 smaller ocean front bldgs. Private bathroom, large double rain shower (lots of hot water), large sink with double tap which includes nice assortment of toiletries. Mini bar includes lots of water, beer (coors light and Presidente) snacks and pop. There is a Nesspresso machine and electronic safe. There is a 50 inch wall mounted flat screen with lots of news, sports and movie channels for rainy days. Sitting area with couch and table/chairs. Balcony has a large double Jacuzzi tub and a double bed size lying area. Plus chairs and table. AC works very well and is controlled by electronic thermostat. Definitely a beautiful, comfortable room. The maid and mini-bar service was excellent. Zero issues throughout the week. Room cleaned and mini-bar filled everyday between 9-11 am like clockwork. BEACH/POOLS: The beach is very nice and ocean very calm during my stay. No issues with swimming. There was zero sea weeds the first 5 days but some did start appearing on the 6th day. Nothing to keep anyone out of the water like at Dreams Onyx next door. There are 5 different pools at LA, the main pool where most guests spent time and 4 smaller pools located in the courtyard (one of them is for Aqua Club guests). Those were generally empty most days. The main pool does have a very nice swim up bar which is roped off but they have a server going back and forth in the water providing drinks to guests in the pool. There is also pool side service when out of the water. The service there was fantastic with Angelo in the water most days and Flo serving around the pool. There is light music during the day and a DJ at 4pm everyday until approx. 6pm. They also have many exercise classes at the pool throughout the day, including paddle board yoga, spin bike in the water, aerobics etc… BARS: As mentioned, you have the pool bar, the courtyard bar (Wonderpool), the sports bar Compton St (open till 2 am), the rooftop bar (Moon bar disco) open till 130 am, the lobby bar (open till midnight), so no shortage of drinks. Many good international brands available for you. STAFF/SERVICE: The staff and service was fantastic throughout the week. Never any wait at any bars or restaurants. Service was done with a smile (well you could almost see through the masks). Drinks never went empty. This includes management who made it a point to check in with guests many times during the week. Belkiss who helped out at the dinner a la cartes was always cheerfull and took time to come by and say hi and ensure my week was going well. Omar was also my server a couple of evenings and was fantastic. Melvin at the lobby bar always had my Ceasar ready for me for pre-dinner drink. ENTERTAINMENT: This is likely where there is a bit of work to do. I discussed this issue with Wilson (entertainment team) at check-out. The entertainment needs to set up a board somewhere to advertise day and evening events as we never really knew what was happening. They also lack in terms of shows as some nights there would only be the live band playing at the small outdoor plaza near the a la cartes restaurants. It was the same band everynight although there was a bit more of a rock band one evening. Other nighttime events including a short magic show, a good circus show, a very good fire show. There was some Karaoke in the theatre one night. Luis and Juan were the main entertainment staff working day and night. Very nice young guys working extremely hard to involve everyone during day time activities and also mingle with staff in the evenings. As I mentioned to Wilson, LA needs to expand their evening entertainment. In honesty, he did mention that they would do so if the COVID restrictions allowed them to use the theatre so I suspect this will improve then. There is also the roof top bar/disco in the late evenings at 11pm for some dancing although most complained about the music. The DJ seemed intent in playing his own music and was most of the time, the only one enjoying behind his equipment… LOL. Definitely a nice set-up near the ocean though, until the disco can reopen after COVID. GYM: Very nice gym. Has your threadmills and bikes (even a separate spin bike room with wall mounted smart TV for virtual instructor), free weights, cable machines and nautilus machines. PCR TEST: This was probably the only “stressfull” item during my stay. Was told at check-in to go to the medical/COVID office the next day at 2pm to book an appointment. One of the Clinic Assist (local clinic that conducts testing) took my information and told me to report the following Thursday (48 hrs before my flight) for my test. When I reported, the nurse did not seem to expect me but I was first in line at 0900 am and proceeded with the test. It was a very thorough deep swab in both nostrils. Left with some watery eyes… LOL. I then received my results by e-mail approx. 36 hours later with an official document stamped and signed by Hospiten Bavaro. CHECK-OUT: this took about 5 mins. Provided information on how to send feedback directly to management and once again asking about my stay. Given check-out ticket to board my transportation and was on my way to the airport within minutes. OVERALL: I was certainly very impressed with this new resort (opened 6 months ago). The management was always on hand meeting guests, asking for their feedback. They were also seen many times gathering their staff to ensure service was up to par. The staff themselves were absolutely fantastic. I did not meet anyone that genuinely didn’t enjoy their job. You can literally see their smiles through their masks. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a classy, relaxing vacation with awesome service and great food and drinks. Hopefully this review helps anyone considering this resort or is looking for a smaller, modern resort.

Wow, what an amazing resort. We’ve had an incredible time so much so I’m writing these review while still here after five days. The food is very good for an all inclusive and the drinks were good too. However, the best service and drinks were easily found in Compton St (sports bar). Felix (bar tender) and Yulisa (server) were excellent and made very visit to the busy sports bar fun and enjoyable. I personally complimented them both to the manager Jona, but wanted to leave this review to recognize them too. There were several other people that deserve recognition. Angelo the pool bar server and the hostess for the breakfast Buffett and Mediterranean restaurant along with the pool towel guys. We stayed in the Fuego suite and found the location to be very convenient to all the restaurants, Aqua Lounge, and front desk. We’ve already booked a return trip!!
