We had a fantastic time. Enjoyed everything especially Yani by the pool she took care of us like no other. Than you have Angel and he is his name. Sweet and innocent. Than you have Eliza, Jesus and Comfessor were our middle bar guys!! Awesome time and place.
Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana This will be a fairly long review and I will try and cover anything that crosses my mind. We spent two weeks here from 11/6 through 11/20/21. 1. The resort. Let’s start with this is a Latin branded resort in a Spanish speaking country with a wide array of foreign clientele. (This also not Live Aqua Cancun!!!) We encountered many people from the US, Russia, Germany, Italy, Canada, France, and several other countries. So I would not expect the staff to be totally fluent in your chosen language. Many of the staff speak great English, some are learning to be more fluent, and some not so good at it, but are also learning. My recommendation is to use one of the translator apps if there is absolutely something that is very important to you so it is not confused in translation! (Drinks with no alcohol, allergies, etc. etc.) you can preload those statements and then there will be no confusion. The staff at this resort are all totally amazing, always happy, and want to do nothing more than to please the guests to make your stay as special as they possibly can. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are impeccably landscaped with beautiful flowers, trees, and plants. The plantings are set up to create a sort of seclusion to swim up rooms and the pools as you walk from location to location. Running down the center of the resort is a 275 yard long flowered archway (give or take a few yards. Had a few drinks before pacing it off). Halfway through the archway is the Wonder Pool bar that has drinks and snack food. There are four smaller pools, 2 on each side of the resort. These pools are pretty quiet with an assortment of Bali beds that can be rented for the day and plenty of lounge chairs with umbrellas. We never had an issue finding just the right spot to spend a lazy day in the pool. The main pool has 4 Bali beds, 2 on each side that can be rented, and lots of loungers and umbrellas set up. There are seats and tables in the water under the roof overhang by the swim bar that are great to sit at in the heat of the day. This pool is much more active with music, an entertainment crew, games, exercise/yoga groups, and other activities. It does also have quieter times, but if you just want to relax with a book, I would suggest the side pools. Th beach has some rentable Bali beds and lots of loungers with palm style umbrella huts to relax under while listening to and watching the ocean. The Miraflores ceviche restaurant lies between the beach and the main pool. This place has great lunch food with views of the pool or ocean while you are eating. 2. Restaurants One thing to be aware of with the restaurants, is that the servings are generally small portion. You will get used to this and learn to order accordingly. You can order as much or as little as you would like. Unlike other resorts, you can also restaurant hop. Appetizers at one, main course at another, and desert at a third if you so choose. We had food from every restaurant at least once and most of them a couple of times. This is a very subjective subject and am only giving my opinion to assist if I can. Also, we never had a bad meal here, just some that we liked more than others and tended to revisit. There is one buffet style restaurant for break fast. It is set up amazing and has anything you may want. They have egg stations for omelettes, scrambles, and cooked to order eggs. It also has a fourth station, my favorite, the chilaquiles station that they make fresh for you. They have areas of the buffet that serve many cultural styles. From meats and cheeses, fresh breads and pastries, vegetarian items, Latin flare, American flare, and so on. There is fresh fruit stations, many juices, fresh made smoothies, all the way done to cereal if you would like it. If you can’t find something good to eat here, I would be extremely amazed. Besides the juices here, they are happy to bring you endless Mimosas and terrific Dominican coffee. SEISHIN: We did the Hibachi table twice here and the front menu restaurant once. The chicken, beef, and shrimp from the hibachi was all very good. The beef at every restaurant is some of the most tender that I have had anywhere in the world. The front side we both did sushi and pad tai octopus. We both enjoyed it. SOSPIRO: We visited this restaurant more than once and for one main reason, the spinach ricotta sunflowers ordered with the shrimp sauce!!! Absolutely amazing!!! The chicken cannelloni was great and so was the sliced beef steak. For desert, you can’t go wrong with the crepe. ATL: The quesadilla and octopus toast was good for starters and the beef flank steak tacos and pork meat tacos were pretty good. (The pork meat tacos are pretty spicy just as FYI). The three milk cake was very good as well were the churros. Chez Rose: The onion soup and the smoked salmon are amazing starters. The file de boeuf is so tender, perfectly cooked, and melt in your mouth good! The coq au vin was also pretty good. We really enjoyed the creme brûlée for desert. I have had much worse at Italian restaurants. Lunch places: HUZER: The shawarma was a good starter and my favorite here was the rice from the sea. The roasted chicken was also very good here. We did not have deserts here and did not eat here often….we were usually by the pool or I was on the ceviche. Miraflores: The shrimp aguachile was good, but by far my favorite ceviche was the Yucatán ceviche! The gobernador and the Rosarito fish tacos were very good and our favorites from here along with the fried calamari. The cheese cake was a great desert from here. WONDERPOOL: The beef and chicken burritos we really good as well as the chicken burger. One thing that is really nice is that you can order for this place with your poolside server and they will bring it right to your lounger, or if desired to the edge of the pool. ROOM SERVICE: We only did room service one night. The penne rigate with smoked salmon was amazing and the Caesar wrap was really good as well. COMPTON ST.: This is the bar and great for appetizers. The octopus was terrific. The surprising thing to us here was the pizza!!! We had pizza a few times and it is surprisingly good. We would usually do this after a day of excursions and didn’t necessarily feel like getting too spiffed up for one of the restaurants. COFFEE SHOP: You can get various types of coffees, lattes, frappes, teas, here as well as assorted donuts, pastries, and mini snacks here. They also have great ice cream and will make amazing milk shakes. 3. The room. Our room was amazing. They are very clean and the maid service comes through a couple times and day and a turndown service on top of that. The room had plenty of closet space, bench areas for bags, and storage place with drawers. There was a dining table, a couch with a tv in front in the front room. The bedroom had a king bed and a tv on the wall. The shower is large with a raindrop as well as a hand wand. (Warning, the hand wand comes on automatically when the shower is off. Be sure to point it away from you when you turn the shower on, or you WILL get a surprise!!! LOL) There are great amenities, soaps, gels, lotions, shampoos, shave kits, sewing kit etc. etc. etc. It was nice and everything you need is there. There is a blow dryer, an ironing board and iron, and other things of the sort in the room. WiFi was excellent in the room as well as all over the entire resort. The deck had a day bed, a jacuzzi tub, two chairs and a table. We spent a lot of time sitting out reading and enjoying the view of the ocean. We also had a rooftop with a daybed, two loungers, and two chairs with a table. This was a great place to be in the mornings and evenings. It got a bit too hot during the heat of the day to be up there, but the view was astonishing from the top. A nice feature of the room is that there is a hidden door to place room service in for them to pick up. Another one is that they have a switch that turns a do not disturb light on outside your room instead of a door hanger. One major piece of information!!! On the digital heat control panel is the master room light control. If it is blue, the room lights will turn on automatically if you go to use the restroom, get a drink of water, ROLL OVER, etc. etc. Turn that to red and they will not do that. You will be much happier and will sleep much better. A couple things that are definitely not deal breakers for the resort and rooms, but that I personally think would be nice little changes for convenience and comfort. 1. Having key code wrist bands instead of having to keep track of a key card. 2. It would be nice to have towel/wet bathing suit hangers on the inside of the shower door. 3. It would be nice to have a retractable clothes line on the deck. 4. It would be nice to have handles on the outside of the sliding doors to the balcony. (The doors have to be shut for the AC to work and can be challenging to open from the outside. Especially if you have sunscreen on you hands.) 5. It would be nice to have a bookshelf in the lobby for a “take a book/leave a book” area. (I burnt through two books and luckily a kind lady left a third one for me to read). 6. It would be nice to have a table for people to leave items that they do not want to take home like sunscreen and lotions that others can use if they run out. Final thoughts and advice before personal thanks to many staff members. This is an absolutely beautiful resort to go and relax with a small amount of higher energy activities. It is not a major party resort, but you could have a great time. I chose to come here to relax after a major family loss and to try to get my mental health back together. I made the right choice, feel much better, and made some new friends from all over as well as staff. It was a trip to remember by all means. The one thing that I highly recommend everyone do while they are here is to get up early in the morning, go to the beach, and watch the spectacular sunrise!!! It is breathtaking and makes for some great pictures. The sea grass was not an issue while we were here. The water is warm and swimmable. There is a wave break at the beach directly in front of the resort, but if you go a bit to the right there is a more gradual slope and milder wave break. Drinks can be a bit inconsistent, I drink beer so had no problem, but others with me found that some drinks were stronger to much stronger depending on the bartender. They were never bad, but if you had a light pouring bartender, they would just order an extra shot to mix in. You can bring your own mug. This was great! Bring a yeti or rtic thermal and they will fill them for you. Your drinks stay cold much longer. Also, unless you like paper straws, bring your own!!! Now the fun part. Expressing my gratitude for a multitude of the staff members who were a very large part of making this trip amazing. I am going to try and get as many as I can remember in here and I apologize for anyone that I didn’t get your name. There is a lot of people working very hard at this resort and it is difficult to get them all down to write this. All of them work different locations throughout the day, so the ones I know for sure I will note. Yohangel from the breakfast buffet and Miraflores. Jhoan from breakfast and HUZER Jerry (my brother:-)) from HUZER David from the breakfast buffet. That’s for the service and making my friend feel special! Jhulie from the breakfast buffet. Bangel from the breakfast buffet and making me amazing chilaqulies for many days. Christain for making amazing omelettes. Julio severing us at many different restaurants. Jose x 10 ;-). There are a lot of Jose’s at the resort and they are all terrific. Jose at the swim up bar is one you will for sure get see a lot and is an amazing, funny, and great person to find. Penelope from the coffee bar. Leidy from the entertainment staff. Angel from poolside and beach. Flora from poolside and beach. Angelica from poolside and beach. Now last and surely not least. Erika from poolside. Erika is absolutely amazing and I highly suggest that you find her if going to the resort. She had refills to us before we were halfway through our drinks, would bring food to us at poolside, was very attentive, and was just a great person in all. We will miss her and we’re grateful to become her friend.…
Great experience! Loved the hospitality and the kind gestures. I would recommend this resort to everyone I know! It was that amazing. The food, amenities, staff, host. Just over all amazing. Weather was exceptional. Loved every moment of this experience
Very nice resort, with amazing people. All resort team members were such nice people. I can't say enough great things about Angelo (waiter), and Danny (Dannyboy) at the Aqua Club beach area. These two were awesome and treated us like family from day one. With the large group we had at the resort, they learned our names from day one and greeted us as such throughout our stay. On the one rainy day we had, they were bringing drinks and snacks to our patios. Amazing guys. Although we didn't take advantage of all the perks of having a concierge to help us throughout the week, Junior was right on spot whenever we have a question or request. great young man! We were there on a business/leisure trip with 300+ people and the resort was very accommodating to our many requests. We even had a guest in our group who is a musician and the resort helped us set up an area at the pool for him to play for all to enjoy. We had a couple of receptions and a large meeting which they were able to accommodate. There were several restaurants with really good food for all to enjoy. Room Service food was good, and the pizza and burgers in the sports bar were actually really good as well! I did not get to experience the spa, but my wife did, who said it was great. The only downside of the trip was that our room was slightly damp and had a musky smell. It was worse on the last day when it rained most of the morning. With that said, we didn't let that impact our stay and made the best of a great resort. The people made up the room. All in high, I'd highly recommend Live Aqua!…
Let me start with what is great about this resort and what to expect when visiting: Yes the rooms are great, as good as people have commented, clean, spacious, comfortable mattress and pillows. Resort is clean. Beach is long and wide and you can always get beach loungers. If you like to walk you can go for very long walks. If you like swimming in the ocean your are allowed to swim in front of the resort. Nightly entertainment was good. If you like dancing at night this place provides plenty of this. Access to all the amenities is very convenient and easy. The staff in all departments are amazing from Daniela at reception, Pablo at breakfast buffet, Markier, Edward in the French restaurant, Faboulas Raphael in Japanese, Billy, Joel the best server we had, Patricio the manager, Yoeleasy, and the two Wandy, and one of our favourites is Julio. Red and Paola are always friendly, helpful and entertaining, Room for improvement: Offer lunch and dinner buffet to food option to allow people more variety. Train staff to properly serve the food. Improve the quality and taste of the food, the food is good but could be improved. Add ambiance to landscaping, The place looks nice and too simple. Improve overall communications with guests about activities and restaurant options. Having said all of the above we feel its a good place to visit and we would visit it again, we had a lot of fun staying for one week.…
Amazing resort! Facilities were great, from check in to departure we were well looked after! What made the experience excellent was the staff, special mention to Red, Jhonny, Angel and Paola for teaching us Spanish and being a joy to vacation with! Would definitely visit again and recommend this resort to everyone!
Gorgeous resort. Pristine, well decorated, beautiful surroundings. All staff were accommodating and professional, especially Red and Paola on the entertainment team who treated us like family. The spa experience was great. I read many things about the food being amazing, but for me that was the only disappointing part. Breakfast was great, large buffet with many options. There were several dinner restaurants, but I did not find many things that I really loved. However, I didn't go hungry so I will still come back here again!
My wife and I were in Punta Cana for our honeymoon in August of 2022. We both travel quite a bit but had never been to the Dominican, so we thought that would be the perfect place to go together for the first time. Once we saw the photos of Live Aqua, we knew where we wanted to stay! We went back and forth but ended up booking the Fuego Suite and believe me, it is WORTH it! The room is beautiful. You are above the main building so you have easy access to almost all of the amenities. The large room has a king bed, a massive shower with jacuzzi tub inside it, a table for eating, couch and 2 tv’s...one of them mounted above the bed, which was over the top in the most perfect way. The mini bar is included, and well stocked, we made friends with the staff first thing and never had any issues getting it restocked what-so-ever. The piece de resistance of the entire suite, however, is the private balcony with swimming pool. It was the absolute perfect place to spend time with each other and look out over the entire property. Another nice perk to being in a suite is it grants you access to the Aqua Club, which makes check in and check out extremely easy (as in, you sit at the private bar and have a drink or two while they take care of everything), you have a private bar with apps all day long, and anything you need they will take care of so you never feel like you’re stuck searching for help. They are fantastic. If nothing else, the aqua club alone is worth booking a suite. Let's talk about food, right? We were there for 10 days so we made sure to eat everywhere at least once. The food here is fantastic, easily the best all-inclusive food I’ve ever had. They clearly take a lot pride in it. The French restaurant was probably our favorite, but honestly, they were all so good we would happily eat at any of them. I have to say though, our single favorite meal was the Aguachile Ceviche at the beach side restaurant. Once we had that on the third or fourth day, it was our lunch time stop for almost the rest of the entire trip. The breakfast was amazing every day, the variety of restaurants for lunch and dinner was fabulous, and the staff is so good they are about to get their own section in this review. Ok, if you’ve read this far let me tell you about the staff. They are FANTASTIC. I could not finish this review without calling out some specific staff members, but first let me just say, the ENTIRE staff is friendly, helpful, eager to please, and will go above and beyond for their guests at every turn. If you go here, they truly make you feel like a guest in their home. On to specifics! Brayan, Maria, and Mario in the Aqua Club are the absolute best team. They made us feel immediately welcome, took care of everything start to finish, and even helped trouble shoot when our bank shut our cards down. That situation would have exponentially more stressful had they not been involved. We stopped by to say hi every single day, even if we didn’t have time to hang out. The Aqua Club wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Frank behind the bar, Frank is the man, plain and simple. Richy at the concierge desk was helpful and knowledgeable, always eager to help. Maria at the Italian restaurant made every single person feel special. Julio at the Sushi/Hibachi place was awesome, made the night SO much fun. Mary at Miraflores (Mexican Food) made us feel so special. She even set up a special dinner the next night with Chef Samuel where he made us his favorite Dominican meal. That is a memory we will have forever. If you get the Aqua Club you also get the private beach, which means you’ll meet Danny Boy. He is fast, attentive, hilarious, and genuinely cares that you are having a perfect day. One our last day he even bought me a little kit to make my own Mamajuana back in the states. If you don’t know what Mamajuana is, don’t worry, you will! We started everyday at the breakfast buffet and that was largely because of Ana Mary. She was so kind and welcoming my wife and I made sure we went to breakfast even when we were VERY tempted not to (the nighttime entertainment is A LOT of fun). Lastly, our trip would not have been the same without the excursions we chose. Estafania was so incredibly helpful. We have forever memories because of her. She even warned us when two of our choices were very similar so we got a new experience. Do yourself a favor and if you have more than a few days, go on some excursions and tell Estafania we say hi. They happy hour catamaran/snorkeling, ziplining, and the dune buggies were my favorite, my wife loved the day trip to Santa Domingo and the catamaran. I know this was long, but I hope you found it helpful. Basically, just go to Live Aqua Punta Cana, you will not be disappointed.…
We had the best time ever at the resort! Jhonny was incredible! He took care of our entire group all over the property! On the beach and at the pool Jhonny felt like family! Came down for a wedding and we had the time of our life!
I initially booked Chic Royalton next door to this property. I checked out after the first night as it was one of the worst experiences. As I was checking out with no place to go I searched on google maps for the nearest hotel and Live Aqua came up as a highly rated hotel and literally adjacent. I called the Live Aqua and made a reservation over the phone and promptly arrived 20 mins later. What a breath of fresh air! An amazing entrance with an inviting aroma, incredible service and the friendliest staff. I chose to spoil myself and upgraded to the 'Premium Aqua Club' which allows you access to an exclusive bar with premium drinks as well as allowing you to walk into restaurants with no reservations. There are too many positives to list but needless to say this was one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Drinks were proper, food was delicious and plentiful, pool was clean, beach was spectacular, entertainment was entertaining and finally service was extremely friendly. I'm still surprised this hotel was all-inclusive as the food was and drinks were absolutely delicious. The room is well appointed and the shower was definitely the highlight. I travelled alone to relax and treat myself and I got more than what I asked for. Thank you to all the staff that made this stay so memorable and enjoyable. If I lived closer to DR I would go to this hotel every month. Worth every penny, and more!…
