This is for dinner only, If it has the appearance of a tennis/athletic shoe/sneaker, you will have issues. Simple loafers are fine. Three of the 6 restaurants do not allow these at dinner, and they do enforce it. Two theme buffets each week and the Mar & Tierra allow shorts at dinner, but you must have collared and sleeved shirt. All other restaurants are the same for shirts and require long pants. Jeans (no rips or tears) and polo shirts are fine,

As mentioned, there is an ATM, but it can be quite pricey when you add the atm fees and fees your bank may charge. You can exchange dollars for pesos, you will need your passport. You can change bigger peso bills for smaller. Bigger USD for smaller usually at the bars. I've heard many horror stories about peopled who have had issues using their debit cards in the area, NOT at the resort, just a heads up. Fraud issues showing up later. We brought around $700 mix of pesos and USD. Got Pesos from our bank. Didn't want to use the credit card so I was prepared to pay for excursions with cash. Rubber banded it really takes up no room, left it in the safe taking out only what we needed, when we needed it.
