Detailed Reviews
we took two rooms on the 6th floor and despite booking for 6 people, 3 in each room we were assigned two single rooms without extra beds - we managed to get a three bed room however at a quite increased rate.
the shower and bathroom facilities are very basic, and just clean enough to be okay.
the rooms are quite big, the beds as hard as rocks and the linen musty smelling but clean enough.
restraunt food was a good price and nobody got sick and the staff here are friendly.
the problematic staff are on the reception (as per other reports). when I was to check out I had both Takka and US dollars and asked to pay US and was told this was fine. They used a very low rate, much lower than market exchange rate to my detriment and the bill for 2 nights came to $77 US for one room. As I got the money out to pay, the staff suddenly decided that the "new room rate" was $100 USD and that this is what I should pay. I declined and paid in Takka.
This hotel is not a place that a female should stay alone as the male staff are everywhere and quite untrustworthy. Lock all doors as staff walk suddenly in with a quick knock.

This hotel is just opposite of chittagong rail station. This place is really crowded and busy place.but hotel is good. Room was good .toilet was clean but WIFI was little poor. Nearby you will get new market those who love shopping. Lots of food options nearby. Must try Zaman biriyani house .

+1
Reception staffs seem to be non-friendly and non-co-operative. Room was spacious double bed room. Toothpaste, tooth brush, shampoo etc was available. Two litres drinking water was supplied as complimentary. Room lighting in-sufficient. Inside the room does not look beautiful as the reception or as the outside view of the hotel. Importantly, nobody (hotel staff or official) seems friendly, they cannot smile, i never want to stay again here. You can pay here by VISA/MASTER card.

By reading reading reviews on the net i have decided to stay at Asian SR Hotel on my Chittagong tour with my newly wed wife.
That is where I have found the hotel is not for gentle people. They have a so called management who has such a dirty mind that you will feel insecure staying there with your wife or loving one. Having payed almost 2500 for one night you will find some arrogant dirty minded person from the reception desk is starring at your loving newly wed wife with a dirty eyes. And their so called management which will be mentioned by the receptionist will convert your prestigious marriage to vulgarism.
I had much bitter experience staying there with my wife. Like me if someone is planing to have beautiful travel with wife I would suggest stay at any hotel but Asian Sr at Chittagong. If they are serving people, I do not know why they keep such ..... on reception.
I felt insulted staying there. I think no one will pay to be insulted by some cheap minded rarely educated person.

A friend and I spent one night here on route to Cox's Baxar from Srimongol. The hotel was recommended by the guide book and had the advantage of being very close to the train station.
The hotel was clean enough and reasonably priced, though we did find one large dead cockroach on the floor. Everything worked - water, electrics, air con; but the beds were rock hard, something that seemed common in Bangladesh hotels.
We had an evening meal and breakfast here. The food was adequate, but nothing special. Would probably have looked elsewhere for meals had we been staying longer.
My main gripe was the reception staff. They agreed to help us get a sleeper on the train from Chittagong to Dhaka as we were unable to book it ourselves in advance. They said they had a contact who could get us the tickets and we could pick them up from the hotel before we got the train. The amount of money was fairly small (for us anyway) and we decided to risk it. We gave them the money and our mobile number. They said they would contact us when they had the tickets. Guess what? We never saw the tickets or our money again. In the end we made other arrangements to get back to Dhaka, but it stil left a bitter taste knowing that we'd had our money effectively stolen after placing our trust in the staff.
It makes you wonder if your luggage is safe in the hotel rooms, given that these people have the keys to your room.
Wouldn't stay here again if you paid me!

We had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room was really spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful generally, although one of the reception staff was a bit difficult to deal with. The only downside to the room was that the shower did not have hot water.
We also had a meal at the restaurant. The food was satisfactory and reasonably priced.
Given the Asian SR Hotel's rates, we were really happy with our experience. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here during the cricket world cup.
This hotel is quite nice. Looks good from the outside, rooms are OK, friendly staff, although service was a bit slow and needed constant reminding in the restaurant. The cleanliness, fittings and overall quality are not of an international standard.
If you don't want to stay at the expensive Peninsula, this is a good alternative. Don't expect luxury, but you get a nice, average room for 20-40 USD.
Although they had a generator, power was out in our room a couple of times, but a fiddle with the switchbox hat it back on in minutes.
There is even WLAN!

I have stayed twice in this hotel, located just opposite to the chittagong railway station. They serve the best breakfast, has the option of complementary breakfast, wifi access. I liked their restaurant much. Rooms are neat and clean and the waiters well behaved with us.

i stayed the the Asian for 7 nights at the end of October 2016 and was presently surprised how well everything was run
Checking in was a breeze very helpful staff on front desk.
I had breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant every day and i found the food to be well cooked and very tasty.
Bed was a bit lumpy but slept good every night so it couldnt have been that bad. For the price i found it very good and would stay there again when visiting Chittagong

Stayed at Asian SR hotel for the first time. Seems it is low season and not to many tourists staying at the time, the toilette needed mending, the water in the shower had not been on for some time (rusty), the internet was not working very well. On the floors it really was very poor.
