It was a great experience. Can't wait to go back next year. Probably will venture out in fall. The campgrounds were clean and the attractions were plenty. Loved the trails around Achray. We have not ventured out canoeing in the canyons but having seen the scenic expanse I recommend it as a must do for all. Plan and reserve the...

Lots to do close by when staying here - canoe to Carcajou Bay, hike Berm Trail (4km loop), hike the short Barron Canyon trail (1.5km loop - spectacular!), hike the High Falls cheater trail to great water fun (4km one way), canoe the canyon (bit of a portage, tho`), short jaunt to the Tom Thompson `shrine` and several good beaches...

If you're coming to Achray from west of the park, it sure is a long drive with the last 50km or so on unpaved roads. Once you get there you'll find a quiet, small campground with excellent beaches. Most of the sites are on the lakefront and none are far away. On the pet-free side of the park, the only...

We loved our camping at Achray. The lot sizes were great in the non-dog section. We loved our site which had the beach and swimming area close to us. We backed onto the public part of the beach. Toilets were good and the grounds were nicely cared for. The beach past the Jack Pine Trail was amazing and not crowded....

I had the wonderful opportunity to camp at Achray Campground in Algonquin Park. It is worth the 55 km drive over dirt roads. This was the first day the campground was open so there was only 4 sites booked. Needless to say it was peaceful. Almost all the campsites are beside the water and I prefer #34. One thing to...

Found Achray by accident, it's much farther than we thought. However it was a great find and we will go back!! Great beach, flush toilets, pet friendly areas and lots of beautiful hiking trails. No cell service and no radio make for a great getaway. Kids all had fun, we saw plenty of wildlife and we toured the inside out...

Achray campground is well kept, clean, quiet, and secure. We walked the whole campground, and it looks like each site features easy access to the beach, and is a quick walk from the camp store which features friendly staff and accommodating hours. You can even grab a few bars of cell signal at the store to make a call if...

These campsites are for folks who enjoy the natural surroundings... very quiet with immediate access to beach, swimming, paddling, beautiful views. Short drive to hiking (Barren Canyon is a must!)... the unpaved roads are a challenge, and the camping is rustic. All worth it as you watch the stars appear over the lake, and listen to the wind in the...

Six very long hours of driving brought us to the mouth of the dirt road that led to the campground. They have fixed it so the bumps weren't as bad. We arrived to our campsite (#9). The view was amazing. The nice sandy beach was a few steps from our site. The privacy between the sites is very poor but...

We stayed at campsite # 9 in Achray campground and let me tell you, it came with a wonderful private beach as well as a fantastic view. There as always was a lot of mosquitoes, however this is what you expect when you are in the wilderness and all you need is a little bit of bug spray to combat...
