Late booking, very welcoming, great hosts, nothing too much trouble. Not a great choice of hotels in this area but there doesn't need to be this hotel was superb. Delicious food. Bedroom was beautiful, characterful has not been ruined by modernisation, bed really comfortable. We would definitely stay again when we are next up in Tongue. A lovely touch was...

We arrived in the dark after a long drive on single track roads in heavy rain to a wonderful warm welcome. Our room was good and the bathroom had been recently refurbished with an excellent shower. The residents' lounge is comfortable and cosy. We stayed two nights and ate good meals both at dinner and breakfast. The black pudding was...

One of the best experiences I have ever had. 17th century hunters lodge, keeping all its charm and style, converted into a beautiful hotel and run efficiently by Lorraine and David! Everything about this place and our stay was magical. Stay at Duke of Sutherland suite, complementary sherry, spending time at the family room with books and chat with other...

Very satisfied with visit, room was very comfy and cosy, the sherry that comes free in the room was a nice touch and was delicious. The staff were incredibly polite, friendly and helpful with directions and such. Also, I recommend the Highland chicken they do, best chicken I've ever had and the vegetables looked fresh. I'm a chef and I...

We booked the room, because we couldn't find anything else, we had no idea how lucky we were. We got one of the renovated rooms, directely above the lobby, which was great. It had all the charms and warmth we wanted during our trip, and the bathroom was great too. In the evening we filled out a card, with what...

The Tongue Hotel is in a beautiful location and is a very comfortable establishment. Our room was a little small and the pillows were rock hard! We also had a problem with the smoke detector which was located right over the bed and had a read light that flashed all night. When we spoke to the house staff the next...

Stayed here while doing the North Coast 500. Very friendly welcome, nice room and a good restaurant. We didn't try the pub (located next to the hotel) but the bar was well stocked and next to the restaurant where we had dinner. Hotel has great views and it's an easy walk from there to the remains of Tongue Castle.

Very wet Munro baggers and we checked in here. We had entry level rooms and they were more than adequate - really clean and great pillows and cottons - good toiletries too and the towels were excellent. Public bar downstairs was not the busiest, but we had a great laugh. Lorraine (owner) looked after us very well - they stock...

Stopped off on N500 - told no lunch in hotel we would have to go outside and down to the bar which was disappointing as it was raining!! Stunning scenery but sadly not from the lounge. Very friendly staff - evening meal and breakfast good.
