An old hotel, in need of a bit of refurbishment, but ideally located at Lochinver harbour. It's about a 5-10min walk into the main village centre. Rooms are basic, but functional and clean. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast is fresh cooked to order and is very tasty.

A hotel in need of a makeover. Having a fishing boat ice factory outside the front door doesn't help this once grand but tired hotel. It's really in need of someone to spend some money on the decor, fixtures and fittings. Saying that the room was comfortable and warm, two very good nights sleep in the bed and the shower...

This hotel is family run and they are very welcoming. The building is a fine example of Scottish Baronial architecture so the rooms inside are of a good size with a wide, paneled staircase. The menu at breakfast and dinner is fairly basic but well cooked. The bar in the evening is the haunt of the locals and if you...

This hotel probably had an enviable position at one time but is now tucked away in the dock area. Cavernous public rooms with uninspired dark decor give the wrong impression from the outset. The restaurant, far from being cosy, is barnlike and uninviting. Reception staff have to be summoned by a bell but are friendly and welcoming. Our room was...

I don't know where to start with this place. It's like the hotel that time forgot. 1980's carpets, lights and decor and a horrible foosty smell everywhere that you go. The place is run by an unnerving little fellow who goes around the place switching off the lights in the lounge, even when you're sitting there using the place. The...

Staying in Lochinver in November means accommodation options are limited - a lot of places are closed. As other reviewers have said, the building interior and decor is dated, but the rooms are comfortable enough, and are large and spacious with big high Victorian ceilings. The staff are helpful and accommodating, my other half is allergic and / or intolerant...

we were in a group of four, our rooms were very good, the food was very good (breakfast and dinner), there are many walks to occupy you, if its raining you could visit the local pottery and watch it being made, a great base for that part of the highlands.

Prior to booking this hotel I spent some time on the phone to the proprietor explaining our requirements which were based around a wheelchair accessable room which had a wetroom en-suite. I was assured that this would not be a problem and that we would have a room which met our requirements. On arrival we were very disappointed with the...

Lochinvre is a very quiet sleepy little town and this hotel stands near the waterside looking quite grand. Yes the decor is a little dated but the welcome is good and the breakfast excellent. The bathroom is dated but we had bath, shower and very good hot water. Reasonably priced hotel and certainly would stay again.

Ok, so where to start. Picked this hotel for location as part of a road trip. On arrival large stone building with adjacent more modern bar. Old and faded interior full of character and memories, sit in phone box, bell on the counter etc etc. Greeted by a friendly lady who advised me of my room details and asked if...
