Went into the Mission for a light lunch. The place was empty but the menu was full of lovely stuff. The staff were busy preparing the evening meal no doubt but were very attentive. I probably had the best salmon I have ever tasted. My 3 companions thoroughly enjoyed their meal too. I would go back there if in the...

We stayed here last minute for one night this summer. It was functional but not a very pleasant hostel. The rooms had no coat hooks or shelves or really anywhere to put your things. The bathrooms were private but not very clean or well functioning. It didn't help that the other guests were not cleaning up after themselves. There is...

We had lunch twice here during our stay in lochinver. Plenty of choice, great seafood and friendly staff. Mackerel pate, mince and potatoes, burgers, coffee and cake. Unfortunately my husband found significant fatty lumps in his mince or this wood have been a 4*.

This is a very charming place to stay. Small but clean. We got to meet quite some people when we stayed there since most people ended up in either the kitchen or the living room. The kitchen is very well equiped and some necessities are provided for by the bunkhouse, which is really welcome if you are travelling light. We...

As it turned out I was the only guest for two nights in March. The bunkhouse has three bedrooms and a kitchen/lounge/diningroom. There are two shower rooms and three toilets. Plenty parking outside, as well as the retsaurant downstairs and lots of other eateries nearby. Lochinver is a great base for exploring Assynt and I will definitely be back!

Arrived in Lochinver in late October intending to stay out on the hills. However, decided evenings might be a little tedious with no company so enquired at the Mission. My three night stay was absolutely gorgeous. Accomodation was impeccable. Kitchen and dining/sitting room were spotless with basic essentials provided, tea, sugar, cornflakes, milk etc. The cafe served very nice food...

Having stayed in a few bunkhouses in Scotland this one surpasses most. It is a modern building very clean and light. I was lucky in having a room to myself the bunkbed was very comfortable and I had an excellent nights sleep. The lounge and kitchen were extremely well equipped and the basics of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and cereal...

Brilliant hostel to stay in in a great area. Very clean (even with light coloured carpets and in a mountain walking area!!). Brilliant drying room for your boots and waterproofs. Really good comfy beds. Mary who runs the place is so nice too. Comfy and cosy lounge/dining area. Well stocked kitchen (oven/hob/microwave/fridge/freezer) and really appreciated the fact that there is...

Hi, Thank you so much for your review, I am so happy you found the complimentary basics helpful, it cuts down so much on waste and saves travellers who are indeed tired after a hike, cycle or long drive from running around trying to catch the shop before it closes of an evening. I support the local shops by buying...

Had a great weekend with walking club there, celebrating completing the 'Corbetts' on Canisp. The bunkhouse is very clean and modern and the owner is extremely helpful. there were 15 of us, which filled the place and didn''l leave much space for gear, food etc

Hi Alistair, Thank you so much for your review, your feed back is extremely helpful thus my brain is coming up with a plan on the cool bag storage front along with ideas to extend the food preparation area, hopefully for next season there will be a few improvements. Congratulations on completing your Corbetts challange and we wish you all...

I booked in to stay one night but stayed for five. It is very modern and clean with clean fresh bed linen. The kitchen is great and there's also a radio and TV . Wifi was off while I was there but you can get it for a fee at the activity centre.. There's lots of walks for every level...

Hi Inca, Thankyou so much for your kind review. Wifi is back on, BT's next day delivery of the replacement hub by snail mail took two weeks, which was frustrating as we are aware that these days wifi is invaluable for the Bunkhouse Traveller. We were so happy that you decided to stay and visit with us a bit longer...
