One couldn’t wish for a better spot, a nicer cottage, more beautiful scenery, more wildlife. In short - the perfect holiday. I cannot recommend Lochinver Holiday Lodges enough. We will certainly return. The accommodation was all we could wish for - warm, well eauipped, amazing views over the sea, a virtually private beach and island, otters, seals and sea birds. Not to mention the relentless rise and fall of the tide. Never a dull moment. Lochinver lies within the most beautiful part of north-west Scotland. Idyllic!

We have recently returned from our stay in Shelduck, with 4 adults the accommodation was just right: spacious and immaculately clean. The welcome pack was a real treat, especially the Easter chocs.
The location is just perfect: with its own beach, incredible sunsets and glorious nature everywhere you look. We are avid walkers and climbers so it proved the perfect base from which to explore Assynt. There is even a drying room for when you roll in wet from the hills or a dip in Achmelvich Bay or Clachtoll - maybe even the lillte cove in front of the lodge too.
In a 'duckshell' everything you needed was in the lodge. Our son especially loved the Nespresso machine.
Would highly recommend.

The lodges and cottage are in a very peaceful location with fantastic views across the bay especially at sunset, with loads of potential for spotting wildlife. The shops and facilities of Lochinver are a short drive away (or a more challenging cross country walk!) . Although there are several lodges together, their positioning means they all look across the bay and do not feel at all crowded or overlooked. The accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need on holiday, and lots of local information provided. The Covid-19 safety measures were exemplary. We definitely want to return and we rarely retrace our steps.

The is our 4th visit to Lochinver and all the lodgings have been very good standard but Rose Cottage for myself is the best we have stayed at yet and would thoroughly recommend it. Its ideal for a family of 4 plus one . Very clean , comfortable and cozy, Great kitchen , spacious with all that you need. Bedrooms again very comfortable and clean.
Rose Cottage is 5 min walk to the harbour and eating places for dining in or takeaway great quality food for such as small village. Its a great location in the center for accessing local walks such as Glencasp circuit or Culag Woods. Sandy beaches are 10-20 minutes by car so nearby. all are excellent for paddle boards and kayaking. Other great walks are in the WalktheHighlands website site one of which was O'Man of Stoer was great and worth seeing. A couple were climbing actually climbing it. Further away if you fancy a longer drive is Durness and we thought worth the trip for the fantastic beach and sand dunes.
For wild life lovers deer appeared often in the adjacent field to the cottage and seals both on the white shore beach and a couple in the harbour. My son was fishing at the harbour but for those more serious the lochs and river inver offer fly fishing with permits.

6 nights not enough.

David

This was our second year in a row spending a week in this location. The lodges contain all you need to make you feel at home while on holiday. On top of spacious luxury they also have superb views looking out to sea. Sunset watching is especially beautiful as well as watching the tide ebb and flow, surrounding a small pine clad island close to shore.
The lodges are ideally situated just 5 minutes south of Lochinver, by car, where you can get supplies and visit several restaurants. Lochinver is a perfect holiday location to explore the magnificent landscape of Assynt whether it be coastal or hill walks or even trying to come to grips with the world famous geology.
Karen will ensure that you will enjoy your holiday experience here and promptly responds to any questions or problems you might have.
I thoroughly recommend Lochinver Holiday Lodges for a perfect and relaxing holiday set in fantastic landscape and I intend to holiday here again in the future.

Our second time at Heron lodge. Stayed for two weeks The site is exclusive to the lodges,is quiet well maintained and has superb sea views (otters and seals seen from balcony) Cannot fault the standard of cleanliness. Well equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher etc. Has two bedrooms.. One double and one two singles but it's the perfect size for a couple
Put simply we love this place as a couple we spend hours soaking in the view from the balcony and birdwatching
It's within easy reach of Assynt beaches and mountains
We will be booking again
It's a very easy 5 stars from me

We spent a week at Rose Cottage. It’s a lovely little cottage on the outskirts of Lochinver. Easy walking distance to the centre and amazing pie shop! Even closer to An Cala Cafe and bunkhouse which does a great breakfast.
The cottage itself has a large modern, well equipped kitchen including fresh coffee machine and pods provided. Dishwasher / washing machine, large fridge freezer and more than enough cupboard space as well as a large dining table.
The living room was also large but cosy. There is a TV and DVD player but we were lucky enough to have nice weather so they were hardly on.
The bathroom was fine with a nice shower over bath. There is a downstairs single bedroom at the back but we didn’t use this.
There are fairly steep wooden stairs leading upstairs to the bedrooms. A double and a twin room. Both have plenty storage space and very comfortable beds but sloping ceilings which you have to watch out for.
Close by there are endless brilliant walks for all abilities and some of the nicest beaches in the UK.
The owners take Covid seriously and there are a number of excellent and sensible policies in place for your and their safety.
Overall a great place to stay - would definitely come back.

We had a wonderful holiday at Guillemot Lodge. The Lodge was incredibly well equipped and spotlessly clean and tidy with lots of thoughtful touches. The towels and linen were gleaming white, crockery beautiful - local Highland Stoneware and the shortbread and Nespresso a treat.
The view from the huge lounge window of the private bay and out to sea is stunning. It is so peaceful. I swam here and in other bays while exploring.
The location is perfect for exploring Assynt. We climbed Suilven and Stac Pollaidh and walked to Sandwood Bay and The Point of Stoer. Plenty of gorgeous more local short walks described in the helpful folder in the Lodge. Visit the wee shops in Lochinver; Spar has essentials and the photography shop lovely prints and other art work and beautiful pottery from Highland Stoneware.
Highly recommended, so beautiful and remote, a true holiday.

After a wedding we were due to go to in Cornwall was cancelled we were very lucky to be able to book one of the lodges near Lochinver. We were a bit worried about going away this year due to Covid but Karen and Andrew have gone way beyond the governments advice to make sure your stay is safe. There are no bookings the week before and after your stay. This means that all the folders are still full of all the information you need to make your stay enjoyable, including all the new update opening times of all the local shops etc. Plus tourist leaflets perfect for deciding where you want to go. There is hand santiser at the entrance and key safe for a no contact check in.

These lodges are superbly equipped with everything you need for a wonderful stay soap, dishwasher tabs etc.

The lodges over look a bay and tidal island with beautiful views out to sea, perfect for spotting numerous birds including a juvenile heron we saw every night. We were also lucky enough to watch the otter swimming and feeding each night in the bay from the balcony. The last night we even saw dolphins!

We had two teenagers with us and they both loved the lodge and area and there is a tv in the lodge but it was never switched on as the views and sunsets are all you need!

Karen is always available if you need any help or advice on anything and we very much look forward to coming back!

The location is superb, with a picture window and verandah overlooking a peaceful little bay with lots of wildlife to watch. The lodge is warm, very clean and comfortable, with good wi-fi and television reception. We appreciated the welcome pack of goodies too.

is the accommodation suitable for someone with mobility issues? eg - accessible shower? ground floor rooms?
Answer from Dougie C

Seashore Cottage is all on 1floor, easy access to all rooms, the path from the parking space is gravel and sloped but that would be you only possible challenge. The lodges have 6-7 steps to the entrance but they are on one level inside.
