Today we travelled to meet family in our home town of Portaferry and had lunch in the hotel. We had such a lovely afternoon there. This hotel has it all, the perfect location, great food and staff, and top quality friendly service.

We had a delightful stay at the elegantly decorated Portaferry Hotel. The room was full of tasteful antiques and a sumptuous bed with luxurious linens. The price of the room also included a wonderful Irish breakfast which kept us going for the entire day. We enjoyed our dinner there the night before as well. The owner of the hotel was... More

We have dined in this restaurant a few times under the previous management and always enjoyed the experience, however on this occasion we feel the service and food fell below usual standards. Our table was not prepared in advance and the waiter rushed the preparation of the table, the taking of the order was rushed and drinks were very slow... More

Visiting from Australia, I spent a few days at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view overlooking the lough. The hotel location facilitated access to the Strangford ferry. I loved the dining experience, especially the duck. Best of al were the staff. I felt so welcomed as though I had stayed there many times before.... More

We arrived for lunch and asked for toasted sandwiches. We had beautiful turkey and ham. They were super thick and came with a few chips which were delicious. I would have given this 5/5 but the waitress overcharged us £4.95 for sundries which we didn't have. When I pointed this out and the waitress was apologetic but we only ordered... More

Bedroom overlooking the Lough was clean and comfortable & bathroom was adequate and also very clean. Residents lounge was very small with limited seating and a bit drab .... Restaurant is located in a lovely room also overlooking the Lough- breakfast was freshly cooked to order and tasty. We also ate in the bar/bistro area which was basic to say... More

Hi Pinkblackski, thankyou for reviewing our hotel. Sorry we didn't meet your expectations. Thanks for pointing out our rooms were clean, and bathroom was adequate.... As for the residents lounge, im not sure as to where you are referring. This is the first review mentioning our bar/bistro area as being basic, not sure what you were expecting. Generally customers reviews... More

We had an excellent lunch here. Lovely views of the Lough from the bar and parking is easy. Local seafood was excellent, I had the local crab salad, so fresh. Service was fairly quick and friendly. Would certainly recommend.

Had lunch today and we really enjoyed our lunch. Service was perfect as was the food and would recommend a visit. My guest had the scampi and it was cooked perfectly and portion size was on the money. I had the bouillabaisse and it was delicious. The deserts were equally impressive and all in all it was a fantastic luncheon... More
