Approaching by road, one can appreciate the scale and grandeur of the building. Paradors are very reasonably priced for truly unique hotels. One could always nit pick about aspects of one's stay but that would be missing the point

I recently spent two nights with my husband and 20 year old daughter at the Paradore at Cardona and was impressed. I am a history buff, so the idea of staying in an original castle seemed unique, and it was! The hotel has been tastefully adapted into a luxury hotel. There are photo opportunities at every corner. Our clean room...

Lovely old fortress, great views and friendly staff. Good vegetarian option and lovely breakfast. Clean and comfortable room. We stayed for one night travelling back through France to the UK. We had a very reasonable half board deal which suited us perfectly.

This must be one of the most spectacular settings for an hotel you can imagine. An 1100 year old castle that was never conquered and dominates the country side. We love the Parador chain and especially the food. But we chose not to stay at this one despite the magnificent setting as we had read it is a bit "long...

Overall the experience was very good. The fact that the weather cooperated for the time of the year was a distinct plus. The rooms were very nice, modern bathrooms and comfortable. The beds could have been a bit more comfortable but overall OK. The lunch and dinner menu at the restaurant could have offered more variety instead of same every...

I just stayed one night on my drive from Barcelona to southern France. This is a high quality property on a hillside above the village with amazing views. They had a wraparound wood deck for viewing so you had a very wide view of the surrounding area. They did not have any seating or services out there which would have...

Driving up was a bit hairy ..we had a big car and it wasn't that easy to find the entrance, or car park but that said we did eventually find it. The staff helpful and spoke good English. I do love the Parador chain of hotels and they always help maintain in a very historical way these beautiful old castles...

Wonderful castle. Amazing views from all around. It is a museum too. Beautiful, full of character. Lucky to have had an amazing room, with views to the front from the bedroom and views to the west from the bathroom. Dining room is wonderful, vaulted and striking. Have a wander around Cardona, small and interesting. There is a lit footpath from...
