We spent 8 nights here this month and although the hotel is very nice it has some drawbacks for the higher price you are paying. First off the website is a little misleading with the photos of the Grande suite. We anticipated for months we would have a separate room with a

Dear JoeDePlanche, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience during your stay at SON GREC. We appreciate it even double since it is the second time you write a review about us in less than a month. We would have preferred to have had a personal conversation about all of this while you were still here with us, but we may understand that you prefer these digital conversations. So we are pleased to reply to you as charmed as we did last time: We appreciate you liked our Petit Resort, and enjoyed the time you spent with us at our Home and with our staff. We would like to clarify, though, some of your personal comments: 1.- The pictures shown either on our website and on Booking.com regarding the Grand Suite where you stayed are perfectly attached to the two rooms we have on that category. One of them is located by the pool, and the other one in a more intimate area of our gardens. That information is perfectly specified. We (as any regular hotel) can't assure an specific room, but a room category. In your case, according to your words, we understand that you preferred to have had available the Grand Suite by the pool. We understand, but it was occupied by another guest during your stay. You were assigned the other, which is a 60 sqm loft, with a 25 sqm bathroom, with a wide walk in shower (and a bathtub), a 15 sqm independent dressing room and a private terrace of 40 sqm. We've been double checking all the e-mails and messages we received from you prior to your arrival (17 in total). In none of them we assured you the Grand Suite by the pool, and we were quite clear all the time about the existing options in that room category (Grand Suite). When you exchange 17 different messages with a guest before its arrival (not too usual), you perfectly can guess that it's going to be, at least special. We expected you to be as eloquent in person as you showed by e-mail and by digital reviews like this. Unfortunately, you were not. It's important to remind at this point that SON GREC is originally our Family House, where we, the family, lived before we turned it into a hotel. An essential part of our philosophy since we opened is to maintain and preserve that soul. That means that we haven't created categories of clone rooms on purpose. There are some differences which we understand provide charming and the personality of our History and our Story. And we share it with our guest, that appreciate and value it. In any case, we are already preparing an update of some additional pictures and will have them ready soon. 2.- Hopefully, one of the exceptional conversations we could share with you (after your check in) was very kind and was about the food and beverage. You personally mentioned me that you perfectly understood the fact of not bringing food and drinks from an outside supermarket to our pool deck and common out areas, but asked for the possibility of bringing things to your Grand Suite. I personally told you that there was no problem about that, and I also encouraged you to do so since I understood (and understand) that you precisely had the right room to do so (with your own fridge, wide space, tables, lounges, sofas and a wide private terrace). So we don't really understand why you talk about restrictions or control at all. We just take personal care of our guests, with a staff which is a family in the practice. Nothing else. Again, that's something we would have loved to have discussed about in person with you, to clarify this misunderstanding (instead of exchanging digital points of view here). 3.- Regarding the extra charges you mention, we don't really understand your point. We respect it, but don't share it either: You had complimentary water upon arrival. And then, a full minibar with a wide selection of soft drinks, snacks, different waters and spirit drinks. You also had included a Espresso Coffee Machine with Premium Arabic Blend Coffee as well as the Kettle with decaf coffee and three different Teas (included in other room categories too). Unfortunately, you don't mention that either. The minibar obviously has a cost, as the drinks in the Bar and the food in the Restaurant for lunch and dinner. So we don't really see where are we "over charging". You have to understand that the cost of the products for us a small independent hotel is much higher than for other big chains. Every room also has local Majorcan Artisan Ecologic Amenities of different soaps (not only one; liquid and bars), shampoo, gel, hair conditioner, body lotion... And the products are always replenished (if forgotten by our cleaning staff, we are all humans, we are always opened to receive your call and do it). We don't charge for Breakfast (personalized for every guest and always included in the reservation). We don't charge either for our High Speed Fiber Optic Wi-Fi Connection, all over the complex (rooms and common areas). We don't charge for the use of our Parking (in a town where parking spaces are extremely busy). Wi-Fi and Parking is something that many hotels "of this level" (thank you for that) charge for. And we don't. But you don't mention that either. Anyways, we obviously take into account all your comments and will be useful for us to keep improving and growing. We appreciate your visit and we also hope you can rediscover Mallorca soon. Best regards, José-María Álvarez Deputy Manager

We stayed in the small garden suite at the pool, with the private terrace; room 6 if i remember well. The hotel is nicely located at the area between Soller and Port of Soller. The main house has authentic charm and the Staff is really trying hard to make your stay enjoyable.

Dear Alice_the_wonderland, Thank you very much for your review and for taking the time to share your experience at SON GREC. This is your second review about us in a month, so we understand that we really marked you. Just to remind you, SON GREC Petit Resort has 13 rooms in total. 7 in the main house and 6 surrounding the house with a Private Terrace, as yours was (room 12, not 6). We don't believe those are too many rooms, quite the opposite, actually. That means a maximum of 26 guests for a property of 12.000 square meters. Our smallest room has 35 sqm, and the biggest 60 sqm. In the case of your Suite, it has 45 sqm with a Private Terrace of 30 sqm. We don't really perceive a real lack of space, honestly. Regarding the sign by the pool you mention, that's just mandatory information that we have to include by law. We do consider that it is useful information (about the pool hours, its depth, etc). But having a visible sign like that is just attached to the Public Regulations for Hotels with a pool in Spain. And with regard to the Art, that's absolutely something quite attached to every individual and subjective taste. But you just saw a small tiny part of our 10% Balinese Art Collection in some corners of the garden, mainly by the pool area. The rest of the 90% is Majorcan Contemporary and Classic Art and Original Furniture Pieces of Mallorca and other parts of Spain from the last 200 years. We encourage you during your next visit to move a little bit more around our property and discover many areas and spaces indoors and outdoors you didn't have the chance to see. We appreciate your feedback and we'll take it into account (once again). Thank you very much again, José-María Álvarez Deputy Manager

Hi, you can have dinner any evening served on the terrace, weather permitting. please note the menu on some evenings is themed. I hope this answers your question, however, the village square is only a 10 minute stroll, if you fancy further options.

Dear slopster408, Thank you very much for your message. For your information, SON GREC Petit Resort is for Adults Only, so we don't accept guests under 18 years old. We can present, though, you an alternative at Port of Sóller for families travelling with children: Lili Apartments. Thank you again for your interest. All the best, SON GREC Petit Resort

Dear fusspot123, Thank you for your message. To walk from here to Sóller takes 0 minutes and 0 seconds. :-) SON GREC is actually in the middle of Sóller town, in the beautiful, pure and green L'Horta neighborhood, to be more specific. To get to Sóller's main square (Plaça de la Constitució) from our Petit Resort takes 10 minutes walking. We are very close from all the important spots of Sóller town, everything walking distance (never much more than 10 minutes). Regarding Port de Sóller, it takes 15 minutes by tram (we have one stop 5 finutes away, walking distance as well) and 8 minutes by car. It is 3 km away. If there's any other question/s you may have, don't hesitate to let us know. We'll be delighted to host at our home soon. Best regards, SON GREC Petit Resort
