Cathy and I stayed at Casona El Gurugu for a week and it was lovely. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Avelino the owner , and the ladies who looked after us were absolutely brilliant, they could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible! We stayed from the 18th to the 25th August and the...

This is a lovely hotel in a good location for visiting the area. We were touring by car and it was a little tricky to find not being familiar with the area but asked directions at the petrol station on entry to town. The room had small windows and limited views but was nicely decorated/themed. We were welcomed warmly. Only...

This place is amazing. Beautiful setting within walking distance if the port and restaurants. Family run. Welcoming. Great pool with panoramic views. The best place so far. Wished we could stay longer. Rooms beautifully decorated. Unique.

Booked a room with a balcony which is why we choose this hotel at extra cost - our room had been given to someone else. We ended up with in a room with a tiny window so couldn't enjoy the views. Receptionist very apologetic and did all she could to assist, spoke to owner on phone which didn't help matters...

I booked this hotel at short notice, thinking we would spend one night and move on. We were all so taken with the place and the owner Avelino, that we stayed an extra night. It is a fascinating hotel, very quirky, yet tasteful. Obviously done with an eye for detail, the quality of fixtures & fittings is second to none....

Hard to find, but worth a trouble...Hidden in the higher alleys of Luarca this is a small, very friendly hotel with different individually decoreated rooms - check few before choosing the one you like. Views are incredible and the Camine de Santiago walking trail goes just by. A bit of luxory before going to backpacking...Enjoy. The girls at the hotel...

El Gurugu is a "tematic" hotel, meaning that every room is different and dedicated to a Luarca famous person (even a bus driver!). They are nice, warm and well decorated. Ask Avelino (the nice owner) to tell you the whole stories. The hotel is on the hill on top of Luarca and overlooking the mountains. We didn´t use tthe pool...
