We've stayed at a number of Ireland B&B's during our 4 consecutive "self-guided" tours to the Emerald Isle and this one, in our opinion, was one of the best. Not only were the accommodations/breakfasts excellent but Pierce's suggestions on sites to visit turned out to be very worthwhile.

A nice B&B with good breakfast. Unfortunately the bed was a little bit to hard for us. Pierce, the landlord, is a nice guy and helpful. He has made good recommendations for a restaurant (Horse & Jockey) as well as sights (Rock of Cashel) on our tour.

Staying in the Castle Country House was an absolute highlight of our trip through Ireland. We were welcomed by the hosts and they were so friendly. We had three kids and they loved it as well. There is a great old tower that we could climb and a nice dog. The rooms are spacious and beatifully decorated. Beds slept perfectly... More

Joan and Pierce are delightful and will make your visit a memorable experience. The B&B is a stately farmhouse adjacent to a tower ruins and is surrounded by lovely grounds. Rooms are charming and finely appointed. Our breakfast was wonderful - especially the homemade brown bread. Location is easy access from M8 out of Dublin and convenient to Rock of... More

Pierce is extremely eager to please and make sure that all your needs are met! He gave us wonderful recommendations not just for dinner but also for activities on our way back up to Dublin. An absolutely beautiful location in the countryside, slightly removed from any larger towns, but perfect as a stop on the way between cities. Would definitely... More

My mother and I recently stayed here the first day we arrived in Ireland from the States. We were tired and were able to get in 2 hours before check-in and were not charged for getting in early. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was great. We both had the traditional... More

It was lovely, but Pierre and Joan were even more wonderful--so very welcoming and fun. We've been all over Ireland now as I write this so my only complaint is one that seems to be common to the entire country... the beds! While this B&B in hindsight has some of the BEST beds of all that we have experienced they... More

We stayed overnight for a business trip while in Thurles, and I plan to return again for a vacation trip. First off, the hosts are just warm, wonderful and friendly. We enjoyed talking to Joan about family, and Pierce caught us out looking at the old tower fort, let us in and gave us the history of his family. It... More

Lovely room overlooking the front garden. Stayed there 2 nights recently and the breakfast was superb on both mornings. Joan and Pierce were very helpful in relation to places to visit, a bonus was the excellent weather for February.
