Hotel with a great location, in the middle of the city. The best part is that you can enjoy everyday Indian life outside the Hotel which is nice, satisfaying and comfortable. Staff like Sohit Dubey is really friendly, helpful and professional. Will return sure.

Super spot right by the temples with a great communal space to chill and watch the world go by. Clean rooms, friendly staff and well worth the money if you're looking for the best budget option. But so few people come to Orchha so recommended if you're looking for a hideaway from the tourist trail.
The place is average with tiny rooms. The staff doesn't know what is called service. They would simply sit at reception watching T.V. in highest volume. However once in Orchha one doesn't stay in the room, in stead step out and enjoy.
This place is nothing flash but it's cheap, super friendly and in the best location in Orchha. I had a teeny tiny room here for 6 nights, Orchha is by far my favourite place in India so far (although Chitrakoot is catching up quickly!). Small cheap room with big comfy bed, little dirty, paan spit on the wall could have been wiped away! Small bathroom, hot water, flush didn't work needed to use bucket. Good fast wifi available in room. The best thing about this place is the location with views from the large balcony over the small market, the large gates to the main square and temple, the palaces to the left and the amazing gothic Chaturbhuj Temple straight ahead with nesting vultures. Would highly recommend this place for its atmospheric location. Best sweets and samoas are right outside! …
I stayed on Orchha for one night on a bike trip through. Due to bike problems underway, I didn't have a lot of time finding a nice place to stay so I picked the budget option from lonely planet, thinking it'll be alright. Unfortunately, it was not very good. Rooms are small, dirty and the staff isn't very friendly. The first room I visited had a big rat on the bed which jumped out of sight when I entered, so I moved to another. The next one didn't have any windows, but was the only option left without them charging more for the room. I ended up paying 300 for a very run-down and small room, dirty bedsheets and a quite a nasty bathroom. Also, wifi wasn't working but I guess that's a minor detail ;) Since it was for one night during a quick stop only I got the room anyway and left early in the morning, but I would definitely not recommend the place. I'm sure there's better options around for the same amount (or slightly more) money if you have soon time to look around!…
this was the worst hotel in India - we were here in april 2014 - the room and bathroom has had their best time, fortunately there was a good working airco, but it was never quiet - wifi only at the reception, gecko's on the walls of our room
I have now visited Orchha half a dozen times or more and have always stayed at the Shri. The staff particularly Dev have always looked after me very well. My latest visit was after an absence of 4 years but they both remembered and treat me as though it was yesterday.
this place is located right besides the city arch, in the central square don't mix this guest house with the shri mahant hotel, as the hotel is located quite far away. all the sightseeing places are nearby, and when we got there we could feel the indian local vibrant life all around. we had hot water on the 24 hours basis. the room was quite clean, surprisingly much better than we expected for this price. the bed was comfy. we didn't book in advance as this place didn't have any website, and a good acquaintance of us recommended us to check it out, and we never regretted. we stayed for one night only to continue our trip the other day. there are no breakfast facilities in this guest house, however you can easily find something to eat even early in the morning, as there are so many restaurants around. good place for a short stay.…
To be fair I didn't stay at this guest house but I did view the rooms and attempted to negotiate a price. We didn't stay because the price was too high, as with almost all LP recommendations you get very little for your money! They charged 600rps for a tiny room without tv or mosquito screens on openings (and this town is plagued by mosquitoes!). We arrived late and the guy manning the desk would not budge on price. If you're happy to pay over the odds for a small dirty room this is the place, otherwise try monach (see reviews) which is where we stayed.
