Bistar is centrally located in a quiet by lane of the posh neighbourhood of Bhopal with killer lake view from each room and cafe of our hostel. Our hostel is the best vantage point to experience the city of lakes and is located near most tourist attractions of the city. Boat rides on any of the lakes is a pleasant affair but be sure to do it only in the evening. We provide an excellent base to exp

Bistar Hostel at Bhopal is undoubtedly the best place to stay at Bhopal. Visited during 6 to 12 January 2021 and the memories are still alive. This is located at Shymala Hills near Bharat Bhavan. You can reach here in 20 Minutes from the Raja Bhoj International Airport and 10 Minutes from Bhopal Junction Railway Station. Area is peaceful and views are exceptional. You would hardly found any location anywhere in the world with such a breathtaking view from inside the hostel and that too in a budget value. Location is adjacent to Upper Lake of Bhopal which always gives you sense of calm and relaxation from the garden inside. Let’s talk about food. The breakfast is exceptional. The menu is available on the website. I personally loved the Stuffed parathas with White butter, Amla pickle and a Coffee. That was the most satisfying comfort food and I still crave that. Poha is also another option you can try while being there as this is one of the famous breakfasts in Madhya Pradesh. For international travelers there are plenty of options like Aglio E Olio pasta, Pancakes, Mezze Platter, Variety of coffees, Tea etc. Coffee is too good. All the credit goes to Mr. Shaurya Sehgal. Hi Shaurya ! Hope you are doing well. I would call him the Ambassador of Bhopal. He has immense knowledge about the city that you would be surprised. He seems to be shy but you just have to connect with him. Overall I had a great stay and I definitely recommend Bistar Hostels. Go book.

If you want to experience the culture of Bhopal, to enjoy the beauty Bhopal has to offer and to meet some amazing people then Bistar Hostels is the place for you.Shaurya, our wonderful host ensured that he spent time with us to help us plan our Bhopal trip and had the most amazing suggestions for restaurants! He shared about the places where we'll get good breakfast, good coffee and amazing street food in old Bhopal. It was wonderful having firechats about Bhopal and the culture of MP with him. We learnt a lot about the place. Sadly, we only stayed in Bhopal for 2 days but we'll be back to spend time to enjoy the Lakeview and the sound of birds at the hostel. Best Thing: They have dorms as well as a private room at affordable rates. So feel free to book the stay that works for you.  Even Better: You get amazing homemade food. Must try the Pizza here!!!

Better hospitality than any five star hotel I've ever been to. Home cooked food, amazing owner and the view is a cherry on the top. I've marked this place as my go to spot if I ever get to visit bhopal again.

I stumbled upon Bistar Hostels online and ever since then wanted to come here. I must tell you, that it lives up to its expectations. Never did I Imagine a location such as this property and not just that, but also to see the wanderlust side of the city. The host showed us not only around the city but also took us on tours to historic and must visit locations around. Bhopal has a lot more history, architecture and culture more than one can expect. The hostel is centrally located and faces the main lake of the city, out of its 17 others. A must recommend to those who love slow travel or wish to just work sitting around in the property. The city is divided into two broad spectrum. Old city and the new. The hostel is located perfectly between both, which makes it easily accessible to those chatori galis (food street) and monuments in the vicinity. Located very closely to the Van Vihar National park, a perfect place to go for a morning ride. You can rent cycles at the gate of the national park or use the charted bike service to rent one. This is city and the hostel happen to be an underrated gem and should be a must visit for travelers all across.

One of my favourite hostels so far! I've never felt so at home at a hostel before. It's a whole other vibe and the host (who's also a professional chef) ensured we ate the best food, saw the hidden unseen treasures of Bhopal and even played the guitar for us! It's in the prime area of Bhopal which makes it safe and accessible. It's an amazing place that fortunately isn't commercialised like the others today. Jack of all trades I guess. I'd definitely recommend everyone to visit Bistar Hostels at least once.

I visited Bistar Hostels in January. The best part about the place is the location. I mean, damn the view. You wake up seeing the sunrise at the lake, which is so surreal. All the tourist attractions and the main markets are pretty close by. During my stay there I also got a chance to attend an open mic on World Mental Health Day. It was quite fun to interact with some great people, listen to good music and light up a bonfire. The rooms are also pretty clean and the host Shaurya is very helpful. We used to order breakfast and some meals. The breakfast especially was amazing! Home-cooked, tasty, and top-quality (the host is also a professional chef! Order pancakes guys!). The garden is great for star-gazing and long deep conversations with your friends. Shaurya also took us for a food walk to try the local Bhopali delicacies. Plus, the recommendations he gives - we saw so many unconventional places around that were not on our itinerary initially! It was a pleasant stay for us and we're hoping to go back once it's safer to travel!

I had never associated Bhopal with a backpacker’s hostel. So I was thrilled to find one; and an amazing one at that! It helped that I struck up a rapport with the young and enterprising owner, Shaurya, who helped me plan out a major part of my sightseeing in and around Bhopal. I had my first glimpse of the hostel in the evening when I got an awesome view of the lake. The garden is so relaxing with a swing and comfortable seats. The dorms and beds are clean. The hostel is situated in a VIP lane but is just a 5-minute walk from the lake and the market. The hostel is also very close to Old Bhopal if you want to enjoy the Sulemani Chai (the namakwali chai) and some great kebab and biryanis. Van Vihar, Manav Sangralay, Bharat Bhawan and the Tribal Museum are a must-see and quite close to the hostel. Now for the brownie points! I loved the warmth and hospitality of Shaurya’s family comprising his parents and sister. For someone who loves home food, this was the perfect place to pamper my taste buds. I’ve never tasted such marvelous Arhar Dal before. And yes, the pancakes with chocolate sauce and coffee for breakfast are something to write about. And the star of the entire setup is the family dog Leo, an extremely friendly and playful Labrador. To sum it up, it’s a superb hostel with a great view and good vibes. A must-stay in Bhopal especially for solo female travellers.

‌Goddamn! Bistar Hostel is something else. It's nestled in such a quaint and Idyllic neighborhood, along with the breathtaking views of a HUMUNGOUS lake. Oh yeah the lake has a freaking Island! The hostel offers Squeaky-clean dorms and washrooms. The complimentary breakfast is sumptuous and generously portioned. Even the white butter provided with toast or Aloo Parantha was homemade amd freshly prepared. Lipsmacking home cooked food can also be relished during Lunch and Dinner. I'm coming back for the Pepper Chicken. It was beyond my wildest imagination, to be able to polish off two bowls of Bottle gourd Subzi. Thank you so much Monika Aunty for the gastronomical delight during my stay. I never imagined that Bhopal could be such an Avant-garde City with extremely crafty and aesthetically pleasing Tribal Museum, The Man Museum, Bharat Bhavan Art Gallery, Alliance Francaise Art Gallery. Moreover such a chic Backpackers Hostel like Bistar could literally transform the dull tourism scenario in the City for good. I fervently request folks visiting the city to take some time out for the Remembering Bhopal Museum, based on the Bhopal gas tragedy 1984 and dedicated towards the victims of one of most horrid non-nuclear Industrial disaster of the world. It's visceral, gut wrenching and makes us ponder. A huge shoutout to the founder, Shaurya Sehgal for conceptualising and creating such a cool pad for us and working his ass to bring tourism in such a beautiful yet hugely underrated City. Keep the good work👍 Coming back soon for Roti, Laundry and Bistar. Yupp excellent laundry services at modest prices. Whoa I plugged the Laundry facility in a very subtle manner haha. Ya owe me a 🍺..😝
