I've stayed here thrice in as many rooms. They have only one with a view of the lake so make sure to ask for that when you book. The others are large but have NO view so if you want to stare at walls, then go ahead. All have big bathrooms and the rooms are well appointed with a desk, big bed, extra bed, tea service, TV and internet. Breakfast is served in a small dining hall and made to order - you can order any meal you like as long as its vegetarian. No booze or bar on site so carry your own if you want to tipple. The room with a view looks onto the upper lake with a view to die for. You can open the lock to the walking path and saunter along the lake, or just sit and gaze. The host is nice and friendly but I've never met him, only spoken when I call for directions. Getting…
Stayed here during a brief stopover in Bhopal. Lovely location, well appointed bedroom and bathroom. Homely Indian food available on request at a moderate price. The stunning part was the view from the bedroom. I can bet it'll be tough to find a similar view and access to the lake in Bhopal...
We stayed here for 2 nights and were bowled over by 3 things: the hospitality, the location and the rooms. The owner, Rishi, was the perfect host and extremely helpful. He was caring, gentle and most sensitive to the needs of a traveller. We were so comfortable in approaching him for anything. It is rare, and very fortunate, to have someone take so much care. It felt like staying in one’s own home. The location is simply amazing - the back side of the large house opens up to the big lake. And it’s about 20 feet away!!! Not only is it a lovely walk around the lake but the view from the room, dining room and garden is stunning. It’s like being on a serene vacation in the middle of a busy city. Moreover, the house is located in an upmarket and central part of Bhopal.…
This is a top quality guesthouse located on the Upper Lake. Our large room was modern with a separate sitting area and a direct lake view. Breakfast was delicious and there are both Indian and western options. The man responsible for breakfast also made us delicious chapati which we had with our dinner one night. What makes Lago Villa stand out is the owner - Rishi's helpfulness. He organized a driver for us to tour the city and transport to the airport. He also made restaurant suggestions and provided input into activity priorities. He made our stay special. Highly recommend.
The room I stayed in (Magnifico) was very spacious and well-maintained, with lots of closet space, ample tea/coffee supplies and a superb view of the lake across large windows. It was very silent, and nicely cleaned everyday. Hot water was plentiful and the linen and towels provided were reasonably clean. Just a warning, the large window is not one-way view only, so if your blinds are drawn up, guests walking in the verandah on their way to the lake and the morning walkers will be able to see right into your room. The host (Mr. Khattar) is a very congenial man. They must have upgraded the breakfast after the previous reviews, because every morning I was offered a choice of egg varieties, toasties, upma and bananas along with tea/coffee by the cook. Not a hotel buffet spread,…
We were a group of five ladies and stayed for a couple of days at this beautiful villa, end of October 2017. We shared two rooms between us , one with a lake view and the other without. I suggest you book a room with a lake view..... it is a beautiful view !! To wake up to the sight of the peaceful lake with the mountains behind and the chirping of the birds was a blessing. And to go to bed with the view of the blinking city lights and the glimmer of the passing vehicles beyond the lake and below the hills .... was an experience by itself! We could have our meals on the balcony facing the lawn and the lake. The villa has direct to access to a beautiful promenade on the banks of the Upper lake and you can begin your day with a brisk walk on this quaint walkway. Rishi, our…
Travelled with wife and 5 year old. Stayed for 3 days. Very accommodating family. Offered simple meal for kid when requested. Breakfast is simple but tasty. If travelling during the day Lago Villa can offer a packed lunch if requested in advance. Great location with a 15 minute walk from the boat club and very accessible to all the great Museums at Shyamla Hills. Nice for Families. Rishi will offer good travel tips when asked.
This is an excellently situated homestay by the lake run by a wonderful man by the name of Rishi. The property is very modern, clean and pleasant. He went out of his way to make sure our stay in Bhopal was a pleasant one and was incredibly helpful in sorting out taxis and suggesting things to do. One of the highlights was meeting his mum and dad and being invited up to sit with them and drink chai for an hour whilst we discussed how Bhopal was back 40 years ago. He has three rooms in his homestay and they are clean and have all the amenities you could want. If you want a good view of the lake it is best to ask him for the room at the back of the property as ours had no view at all. The guy serving breakfast is lovely but speaks virtually no english so it is best to communicate…
Our stay experience with Lago Villa was one of the best till date.We went to celebrate my husband's birthday on 16 th july and this place turns out to be super wow.Its a private property rite on the lake.Room is quite spacious with comfortable bed & clean linens.A caretaker will always be at your service. The bungalow back door opens in front of lake gives you a mismerizing view all over the day especially early morning.U can sit in the garden and enjoy breakfast overlooking the lake.So peaceful and serene. The owner Mr.Rishi khattar warmly welcomed us and the care taker was also very nice.Overall an amazing experience we had during our stay at Lago Villa.Strongly recommended.
When we're you last woken up by the chirping of sparrows and tweeting of squirrels? This is how a morning starts at Lago Villa. Situated in the heart of Bhopal, this beautiful bungalow on the bank of the lake provides you with everything you can ask for in a home stay. And home is not made of bricks and mortar. It is made of the inmates of the place. My first impression of the inmates was through Mr. Rishi Khattar, the ever smiling owner of the property. I was traveling with my wife. This was our first stay with them. So I called Rishiji and made a request. I had an early morning flight and urged for an early check in. Without a second thought he not only agreed, but also upgraded us to a room with an awesome view. The room had everything one would need for a comfortable stay.…
