I had to cancel my booking a day after I booked because of a company directive + Rocky guesthouse was absolutely GREAT in understanding! Thank you - what a superb customer service If I can come back another time I would certainly stay with them!
The moment I booked our stay here and spoke to Rocky (Balboa?😀), I realised he was a genuine guy who could be trusted. He kindly arranged for two tuk-tuks to pick the four of us up from the train station in Hospet and as soon as we arrived, he treated us like old friends. After completing the registration details, he quickly arranged our return sleeper bus tickets and gave honest unbiased advice on the best way to visit the many, many local sights. This is just what you need when you arrive in a strange place. The two tuk-tuks and drivers, he arranged for the following full-day tour, were just great and we got to see so much, ending with a wonderful sunset view over Hampi. The rooms had comfortable beds, the bathroom had individual gas geyser, so no problem with hot water. We had a/c and a ceiling fan in our rooms, together with a tv and plenty of power sockets. We ordered breakfasts of the menu and this was a great way to start the day. On our final day, Rocky arranged for the two tuk-tuks to take us to the dam on the other side of Hospet before dropping us of in Hospet for our bus back to Magao. I would recommend staying in Hampi as you have the real India right outside your front door. I would recommend Rocky Guest House because of the great location but mainly because Rocky is such a great guy! Mr Balboa, we salute you and thank you kindly for looking after the four of us during our memorable stay in Hampi! Best wishes from John and Sian, Anita and John.…
Loved rockys for numerous reasons. Location. Although hampi is small its located near the main street and the river to hippie island. Beds great. Excellent ac. Loved the social aspect of other travelers. Main point is the kind gentle spirit of the very patient Rocky. Very accommodating. His dad is a sweetheart as well.
i stayed at rocky's twice and i loved it each time. it is certainly no luxury but the atmosphere and the friendliness makes up for it all. staying in the heart of hampi bazar is fabulous, especially in the morning when you can watch the whole village come into life (including the monkeys that you may have to chase with sticks!). a hearty breakfast is provided. there is hot water and rocky, his father and their staff are a very useful source of information. there is so much to do in hampi and last time we stayed for 4 nights and still we would have loved to spend more time there. it is great value for money! hampi is a no alcohol and no meat village, please respect that!
Rocky Guesthouse is just what you want from a Hampi visit. Centally located, clean, good fan and air con and great breakfast. They provide a rickshaw service to visit the surrounding sites for 1000 INR a day plus can collect you from the train station if needed. We visited a couple of the nearby restaurants for lunch/dinner and found Mango Tree the better option.
