Detailed Reviews
We were booked at the Pine Valley Hotel Dharamsala by Davis Club which unfortunately my 93 year old father got conned to become a member of (it's a long story). This is a budget hotel which is located just right: not far from the Dharamsala town and very nicely positioned for a very nice valley view with so much greenery around. The rooms are spacious but the furniture and bed linen is modest but suitable for the budget traveller. The manager Mr Kapil is very hospitable and the owner stays very near and takes care to visit the hotel every day. The room boys are ever ready to provide instant service and the restaurant serves good Indian fare and some Chinese items (although not recommended). Our rooms were on the lobby floor which tends to get very noisy.
We stayed for 3 nights using the hotel as our base for car journeys to all the tourist sites of which beautiful McLeodganj has become over-run by hotels built haphazardly with no parking areas and extremely crowded. All in all it was an above average experience staying at this hotel. There is a small parking area outside the Pine Valley Hotel which was very helpful and IF we visit Dharamsala again this would be a hotel we would consider for the value-for-money aspect only.

Our cabbie took us to this hotel and i thank him for wonderful choice he made for us.
The hotel has a good balcony view of valley . See the pictures. Another plus point , they had 24hrs supply of hot water both wash basin and shower. It has good room service from its own restaurant and food quantity and quality are both good,

Stayed at this hotel during 2017 Christmas time with a group of 10 people, location is almost 8 kms before McLeod Ganj which is a big minus but there is a market nearby ( around half a km) which has lot of restaurants, a wine shop, local shops etc. The rooms are quite clean & spacious and all of the them have a valley view from the balcony which is the best part, bathrooms are pretty clean too, looked like they are renovated recently as they were in better condition as compared to rooms. We had both Breakfast & dinner at the hotel and meals were filling. The staff could be little more supportive although we did not face any issue but they did not entertain our request of BonFire inspite of repeated requests, overall it's a nice budgeted hotel if you are looking for options away from City noise.

I stopped at the hotel and restaurant for lunch with family in Aug-2017 second week. The hotel does not look to be professionally managed since staff appeared to be semi-educated locals however the staff was very courteous and helpful. Restaurant serves Indian food and we found food quality and taste to be decent. Prices were reasonable or rather low for the quality they had. Thus it is a good option to have lunch/dinner while traveling along the road.
