I regularly travel to Johannesburg for business. The Ashford is my "home away from home". The rooms are incredibly comfortable and always impeccably crisp and clean. Zanele & Thabile are always there to meet me with a friendly smile and a heartwarming welcome. Megan, the owner, ensures that her guests are treated like royalty. And Nokhutula makes sure that all...

The room was a good size, comfortable bed and shower. Backdoor leading outside. Overall it was very relaxing after a hard days work. The WiFi is fast. The location is good as it is just a 5 minute walk to the Rosebank and Zone mall. Should you wish to visit the planet fitness nearby, the Ashford does provide daily vouchers.

This guest house has everything you want. While the rooms are not huge, they are spacious enough with good quality finishes and linen. The bed is comfortable and the shower is excellent. There is space for the working on your computer and the Wi-Fi is fast. The guest house is well situated in Rosebank but the area is still quite...

Stayed one night on business. Close to Rosebank and in a very quiet street. Lovely decor and warm welcome on arrival. Adequate parking which feels secure behind a high wall. Rooms are spacious and well equipped with a small bar fridge. Comfortable bed and great shower. Breakfast was simple but nicely done and there is a morning paper to read....

Was totally blown away by the peacefulness of the place, even though I was there only a night. Slept very well and had everything i needed. Coming back in Jan 2016. Cant wait! Staff were friendly, but not overbearing, parking was ample, decor was easy on the eye. Definitely recommend this place.

After careful research, I chose the Ashford for a first visit 4 night stay on vacation in Johannesburg. The guest house was absolutely perfect. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the Rosebank Gautrain station. I had a big suitcase and a shoulder bag and had no problem walking over to the guest house. The big obstacles would be the...

My wife and family traveled to Johannesburg for a family wedding and we have stayed at the guesthouse for almost 3 weeks. The facility, staff and atmosphere was exceptional and we would highly recommend The Ashford to anyone seeking a comfortable, quiet, home away from home experience. Notwithstanding the fact that the rooms were extremely comfortable, the setting peaceful -...

We had the great opportunity to stay at The Ashford for a weekend while visiting family in Johannesburg. The Ashford is a small and intimate guest house. Upon arriving you are immediately made to feel like you have arrived at a family's member's farmhouse. The design is wonderful. The bedrooms are clean and well decorated with a warm feel. There...

I would like to keep this little corner of tree-lined Parkwood a secret but The Ashford really does deserve a trumpet-blow! The whole place has the air of a small grand hotel in the country and lives up to that promise! Our rooms were spacious and comfortable - loved the under-floor heating in the bathroom - and the bedroom doors...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the quiet tree-lined suburb of Parkwood in Johannesburg, The Ashford is a fresh and sparkling addition to the bed and breakfast market. At first glimpse of The Ashford, guests are greeted by a classic, expansive patio which wraps itself generously around the entire house, creating a cool and breezy space away from the harsh Highveld sun. Central to the reception area is a beautiful atrium which spreads light throughout the guest house, all day long. The architecture, as a whole, speaks of luxury without being ostentatious, is practical and efficient without being cluttered, and offers a warm, friendly and tasteful space. The Ashford has five double rooms with bathrooms en-suite, and includes all the facilities necessary to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay. All rooms have doors which open up onto the shaded patio, and all have DSTV and tea and coffee facilities. An English breakfast is served every morning and the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee in the dining area is seldom absent. For the Worlkaholics we offer free wireless throughout. A 24-hour security patrol is in place, and parking is secure. The guest house, like The Ashford team, has a wonderful, sunny disposition about it, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from far-flung places, as well as domestic travellers who happen to find themselves in Johannesburg – whether for business or pleasure. ... more   less
