We spent there two nights and the place was absolutely charming. It is a famili owned hotel, and it has everything any tourist could think of. Fantastic view, good room standard, tasty food, good wine. We just wish we could come back one day, but we still haven't seen the north of Albania, so probably we will be back in...

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was a good sized room with a small bathroom attached. The breakfast was basic, but enough to start the day. The staff were very helpful getting us out of Gjirokaster when we moved on by bus to Berat. Very good staff. The hotel did our laundry without charge. Wonderful! We ate in the...

Hotel Gjirokastra is a beautiful traditional property that has been restored to a high standard while retaining all of the quaint charm of the past. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room and furnishings were excellent and clean. The bed was comfortable, but firm. The food was excellent authentic Albanian food home cooked (by Mother), which was very...

Easy to find, half-way up the hill to the castle and near the historic houses, the location is perfect. The room was the one at the front, with all 4 windows overlooking the mountains in the distance. Very clean, nice bathroom, comfortable bed and a tasty breakfast. Everything you would want, and friendly owners as well.

The hotel is located in several historical buildings (300-year) old and has a great character and vibe. The rooms are equipped with antique furniture and details. The view from the window is breathtaking. There is a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The location is on the top of the hill, just near the Old Bazaar and the Fortress. The...

Perfect for weekend trips. The hotel consists of several historical houses that also create privacy for those who travel with kids or close friend groups. The hotel is run by the rooted Gjirokaster family as if it's their own guests. No parking problems at all, perfect location to all historical and touristic events. Very good and representative breakfast!.. I would...

This quaint family run hotel nestled against its Namesake castle is a wonderful stop on the way to Greece. The suite was first class with a loft for travelling families. Room was amazing with loft at reasonable price. The topping on this desert though was the breakfast in the morning with the owner family. Albanian hospitality at its best with...

We are a small group and we are spending the night at hotel Gjirokastra. I would like to say that the hotel is great. Clean, nice, cheap, nice service, good food. I highly recommended. The staff is very helpful, warm hospitality. What else, very close to the centre.

When a family with a warm heart and generous hospitality is on show there is no better experience than this. Rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and well presented. Breakfast was home-style and plentiful. We had a bag of small laundry items and they were attended to without fuss and retuned in the evening. I'm a retired 5 star hotel general...

Hotels like this and the families that own and operate them is why we travel internationally. Many family members are involved with this hotel and they take pride in making sure your stay is a first rate experience. Since nights get cool in November, while we were settling into our room an extra heavy blanket was delivered to our room...
