Detailed Reviews
Things we are grateful for:
- easy going hosts
- well stocked and spacious kitchen (utensils, pots and pans, plates and bowls, basics like oil, salt and some herbs)
- fast wifi
- inexpensive and efficient laundry service (2000 pesos per kg for wash and dry, same day service for us)
- hot showers with good pressure
- clean bathrooms which always had toilet paper, soap and hand towels available
- towels provided
- clean bed and room
- spacious with adequate storage
- table tennis table free for use
Not ideal for us:
- we found the bed to be significantly uncomfortable
- if you are walking, quite far from the city centre. Though there is a fairly well stocked supermacado across the road.
- can be loud inside day and night (although when asked to quieten at midnight, the noise stopped completely)
- no mat for exiting the shower (risk of slipping)
We enjoyed our stay here and in Coyhaique. The stay was good value for money 😀

Farid was able to provide me with advice on how to access the best tours in and outside the area. The wifi was good, washing and drying of clothes on site for $2000 pesos per kg, kitchen had everything needed to cook with, supermarket and ATM only 3 blocks away. I was in a dorm room at the back of the property, and although the mattresses compressed to be very thin (I stayed on two separate occasions), I had a good sleep. If think if you had to stay in rooms at the front of the property, you would hear lots of music, smell cigarette smoke and probably not have a good sleep. For me though, this was a comfortable stay and Farid was the perfect host and helped me every time I needed it.

The hostal apparently is a party hostal even though that is not mentioned on the booking sites. The owner threw a party with his family and didn't care paying guests wanted a good night of sleep. When asked about it he just said parties are allowed.
The kitchen is pretty good for a hostal and the bathrooms are clean.

This is classic backpacker hostal with a penchant for parties.
We're travelling by bike and stayed here 9 nights due to inclement weather. During that time, the owner threw 4 parties (at least 2 with just his local friends) that went past 2am, not counting the New Years party (that we expected) that went all night (which we didn't expect). They play music, talk loudly and smoke right outside guest room windows, with complete disregard for the guests inside.
If your a traveller looking for a party atmosphere, good wifi and are ok with a mediocre bed, stay here.
If you're traveller looking for a place to recharge and sleep well, go elsewhere.
