We just returned from our 7 day stay at the beautiful Majestic Colonial Club Punta Cana in August 2021. Keep in mind that if you are booking the colonial section, you will be using most of the amenities in the Elegance side due to lack of occupancy (Covid) and off season for the summer months at least. Upon arrival, you are greeted with their signature Majestic drink which quickly became one of our favourite drinks for the rest of the stay. Reception could use more training in customer service as every time we went up the front desk we seemed to be inconveniencing them. Regardless, we were brought to our room which was on the Colonial Club section- a bit of a walk from the lobby and restaurants but our room had an ocean view and was cleaned daily. I highly suggest upgrading to “club” as you will have access to their club lounge with snacks and various beverages available to you. The receptionists at the club lounge were always extremely friendly and helpful. Shout tout to Rosa Maria who was very hospitable, kind and helpful! By upgrading to Club you will have a private section on the beach with access to their cabana beds and a private pool with cabana beds as well. Big shoutout to Wander at the private beach bar who made all of the delicious drinks in the pictures. He was always eager to please and make you one of his special drinks and gave exceptional customer service all week. The beach did have quite a bit of seaweed which is out of their control, we did notice them trying to clean it but it wasn’t as pristine as Punta Cana beaches normally are in other seasons. For lunch, we tried the buffet at the beach which we found to have a great selection of food and had a stunning view of the beach/ocean if you are able to get a table facing that way. The pool area had activities for all ages which was great and there wasn’t an issue finding a lounger most of the time. Big shoutout to Demores at the pool who was always checking on the guests ensuring they were enjoying themselves and had a beverage in hand. She was very kind, hard working and warm to us the entire week! We found the main buffet to be hit or miss- the dinner was not so good so we always ate at the a la crates but the breakfast was great. Shoutout to Yelinton who was our server every morning at the buffet. He was so sweet, eager to please and kind hearted. We got to know him and he is rare gem who adds a lot of value to this resort. Our favourite a la carte restaurants were the French and Japanese, the Italian and steakhouse were also pretty good. The evening entertainment on this resort starts at 9:30 at the main theatre with a different show for everyday of the week. We enjoyed the short ice breaker before the show as we found it allowed guests to interact and engage in the activities as well. After the show, guests would head over to the dance square where they had music and dancing. I would suggest they pick more songs as I found them to repeat the same 10 songs every night which can be very repetitive if you are there for 7 days. Another big shout out to Wander on the entertainment team who was always trying to engage his guests in activities whether it be dancing, or karaoke. Wander had a great sense of humour and made us feel very welcome. My main critique would be for the staff at the reception in the main lobby- it’s important they have better customer service then what they had since they are the first and last face guests will experience. Overall, this resort stands out from others in Punta Cana because of how they strive for customer satisfaction. Everyone is very friendly, eager to assist and understands the meaning of true hospitality. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family and can’t wait to return in the near future. My friend and I stayed at the Colonial and expectations were exceeded. The rooms were very clean and house keeping is fantastic The Ocean View Rooms are wonderful. Alot of the restaurants were closed however we were just steps away from Elegance and was very well taken care of. The reason I'm writing this Review is for Benjamin Nunez our Bell Hop. He made our stay excellent with his outstanding service. He made sure we got to and from resort activities (with all 3 resorts it's a HUGE property, walking will get you no where lol) . The best part is when we needed our Covid Test to return to the U.S. and was running short on time (we went on the weekends and Covid Testing wasn't available on Sundays) Benjamin went above and beyond to schedule our tests, get us there and get us in and out a fast timely manner with out us having to struggle to get it done. I swear if he could have taken the test for us he would have. I did tip him very well, it was WELL deserved and would do it all over again ! Thank you Colonial and Benjamin Nunez (829) 438-0839. First of all the room was terrible, the mattress didn't even have a cover, it was dusty no one bothered cleaning the dust off the room. My son had his birthday on August 19, and I went to ask if they do cakes for special occasions. They sent me to another room and there was girl. So I tell her I need just a small cake just for 3 people, I wasn't asking for something really big. The girl at the room says the cake is going to be $15 and if you want balloons and candles is going to be $20 total! I asked her for receipt and she gave me, and I save it just in case. The day that we went to check out August 24 the guy gives us a bill of $15 telling us this is for the cake that you ordered. So I gave him the receipt and told him I already gave the lady $20. I go call the lady and tell her what the problem was, she than looks confused and says oh but $20 is just for the Ballons... I said $20 just for the balloons? (Just regular ballons) I said I don't even pay $20 in America for regular balloons what's so special about regular balloons that they have to cost $20? We go to the front desk where they gave me the bill with the girl together. She than explains to him in Spanish (and I know Spanish) that I told her $20 is just for the balloons, I said NO! She said it's $15 for the cake and if you want balloons too it's going to be $20 in total! The guy than says maybe it was the language barrier ( from the girl). I than told the guy in the front desk, I am a hairstylist, when clients come in I don't tell them a haircut is $10 and than when they cash out I tell them it's $20, I said that is your problem how you choose to communicate with clients, and you need to be clear! I went to Melia Caribe Tropical resort before and everything was included even the birthday cake, BUT these guys......HORRIBLE! PLEASE STAY OUT OF THIS PLACE, THEY ARE THIEVES AND JUST WANT YOUR MONEY! THERE ARE PLENTY OF BETTER RESORTS AROUND. I thought the bad reviews here were fake but they aren't, they are very much REAL. STAY OUT FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR POCKET!

Don’t believe all the 5 star reviews. If u read them carefully most of the reviews are left from the hotel and they are very repetitive. Pros: Most of the staff are very nice and try their best Room was great and the ac worked amazing. Cons: Food was awful Beach was disgusting. They had very few people cleaning up the seaweed and the water looked more like the dirtiest beach I left in NY than the Caribbean water I am used to. Food options are limited and tasted old. By 11:00 the resort was a ghost town. The entertainment at the pools was lacking The shows were awful If you do decide to come stay at the mirage. Worth the extra bucks
