Just spent a fantastic two weeks at this great resort. Check-in was good, even though we arrived in the evening and the bell boy service was excellent. We were delighted with our room, that was a good size with a great lay out, clean and well lit. It was also well equipped with water , beer and soft drinks in the mini bar fridge. The maid was a smashing lady and keep our room clean and well stocked. First time that the all inclusive wrist band was also the key to the room. What a great idea! It was our 20th wedding anniversary so our room had chocolates and a bottle of the excellent Dominican golden rum. I also celebrated my 60th birthday and was treated to a birthday song and surprise cake at my evening meal that day. Fantastic. Well appreciated. The choice of food and the quality was great. The two restaurants we visited were also excellent. The beach bar was good and the beach its self was wonderful. It was also good to see hotel security on the beach in the day and patrolling at night. For us this is a once every few years trip due to the cost, but we feel we had good value for money. The only caveat was the mosquitos which were a pain. However its a tropical location so it goes with the territory, We ran out of repellent and the resort shop charged a ridiculous price for repellent. So come on Princess Hotels, when you have mosquitos like this, charge a reasonable price for repellent or maybe it should be provided? Don't let this put you off coming here, just bring extra insect repellent, and bite cream and you will be fine. Its worth putting up with for such a nice hotel, and there will still be mosquitos where ever you go on that coast. All in all a great holiday and would recommend. I & H.

This resort is very well laid out you can easily walk it or take the electric tram train , we walked and it was about 5 minutes from room to lobby . The resort grounds are gorgeous very well maintained and well lit at night . The room we had was in good repair no complaints , A/C was a little tricky the only complaint is the smell in the room when you come back after a short time out of room it has a wicked sewage smell ! Beach is a 10 for sure water is clear and warm and sand soft and clean , I would rate it as good or better than Cuba . Food is typical AI fare worst food is sports bar we went twice the food is ice cold and the staff was awful ,I asked about my club sandwich which was missing 1/2 of the ingredients and the waiter came over and told me to open my sandwich and pointed at it there’s your chicken and tomatoe and lettuce , I must be blind there was none of that and the rest of the meal was ice cold , we went twice and each time same thing . Worse there was a man next to us with a young daughter and the waiter made an obscene gesture behind their back directed at the young woman , unsettling for sure . The rest of the food ranged from pretty good to raw hamburgers at the beach resteraunt . The buffet is not bad you won’t starve , but it’s a buffet no real expectations here ,the Japanese was good both times we went , the Italian was great one night and so so the next , the Tex mex was awful food could not eat it nachos was chips and cheese whiz? We did not get the vip package can’t comment on it other than to say it’s very pricey and judging by the vip area of beach beds and the vip beach resteraunt not many people use it . Staff was pretty good some were over and above and went out of their way to please about 30 % we’re indifferent and pretty grumpy if I’m being honest , can’t be happy every day but when you are out right ignored or in the case of the waiter at the sports bar the attitude is not what you would expect on vacation . Overall it’s a typical AI vacation some good points some not so good bottom line is we would return because of the beach we walked the entire beach and a lot of resorts have very small beaches while this place has a big sprawling area .

We spent 2 weeks at the Caribe Princess Deluxe and had a great time. We had 2 interconnecting rooms (a double and a twin) with a fab sea & pool view plus another room. Our cleaner Dorisa was lovely, always happily singing and did a great job on the rooms. The rooms were really lovely and kept clean, but smell slightly musty from the air conditioning and condensation.
We had breakfast in the main buffet in the "outside" area and were served by Ayris and Evelisse each day - they were the best staff on the resort! They remembered our drinks each day (5 coffees and one tea) and helped us with our Spanish speaking. Such lovely ladies, thank you both ❤️. We loved the breakfast buffet selection, especially the fresh cooked eggs and omelettes.
We found the main pool too busy and loud, but absolutely loved the other pool as it was never too crowded. First thing we usually had it to ourselves 😁. The pool guy did a fab job each morning of keeping it clean - thank you. Beach is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds always available.
Lunch at the snack bar was good - especially the nachos. They were constantly bringing out fresh food from the kitchen.
Lunch buffet was good and really fresh, but in the evening, it was a bit hit and miss with the food and got too crowded. It was hard to get drinks served because it got so busy.
Favourite restaurants were the Dominican, Italian and Brazilian. Each meat at the Brazilian was delicious, we just hadn't expected so much of it! Sports bar is good for quick simple meal, chicken tenders were the best.
Ice cream bar and coffee shop was lovely for an afternoon stroll. Milkshakes and frappes were a hit with my boys. Loads of wildlife around the resort - flamingos, peacocks, turtles and watch out for huge iguanas on the paths!
We spent most evenings in the lobby bar or terrace bar so that our boys could enjoy the teen hut (free pool table for them to play on). Drinks were a mixed review, beer was ok, white wine was dreadful 😆. Spirits are all local rather than premium, but they were all delicious with a mixer or in a cocktail. At the terrace bar Wexler makes the most amazing Passion Fruit Frozen Margarita. I'd love the recipe to try and recreate it!

A horror. The hotel is supposed to be 5 stars but the reality is that it is not rated even 3 stars. The gardens and pools are nice and very well maintained, which does not happen in the rest of the hotel. The rooms are dirty, the sheets and towels old and ragged, and that when you put xq towels every day is a mystery. In 7 days we have never had the room clean before 5:30pm and we had to claim to have it cleaned. The first three days we were without a shower mat. The towel rack fell to the ground every time we used it, the dirty shower door disgusting and the toilet I didn't even mention. Food worse than bad. A lot of variety, too much, but very poor quality. Slow and incompetent service. At a meal I ordered a glass of wine up to 6 times and it never arrived. Very dirty restaurants. On the tables they put individual braided resin with food scraps, ketchup and anything else stuck. The worst was him last day. We had a flight at 10 o'clock at night and were told they had locker rooms set up for late departure guests. This resort is small but well designed and I would recommend it to families with pre-schoolers. There is a pool designed for them, mini-putt, dancing on the stage and the walk to the front for ice cream will keep their interest with turtles, iguanas, fish, ducks and peacocks. The yard maintenance crew was there every day raking up the leaves and cleaning the path. There is a shuttle bus that runs continuously if the walks become too much. Even though small it still has up to 7 choices for dinner but except for the buffet you have to reserve in advance which may be a challenge. There are 3 pools (kiddie, quiet and active) plus the beach, which was great for long walks. We had no issues with any of the staff anywhere, though some spoke very little English. Wifi worked well and so did translate which made our needs easily understood. It didn’t take long for Francisco to recognize us at breakfast and fill our drink order promptly. Karen spoke English very well and when she had a minute would talk with us. Keila recognized us right away from our stay the year before. The buffet itself offered a wide selection but most of the meat was too well done, unless there was a roast the chefs were carving, that was moist. The better option appeared to be the fish. Worth mentioning are the services of Rutiniel, Dasani and Yomayra as they were efficient but still made us feel welcome. Our room this time was on the third floor which was not an issue for us. It was clean, comfortable and quiet, with lots of hot water. The resort updated end tables and TV’s in our section while we were there. The evening entertainment is at the front which means the sleeping areas are quiet, unlike other resorts.

Thank you for contacting us. The rooms are on the beach side and a couple of minutes walk. On the other hand, the buffet and some restaurants are on the beach side, others such as the cafeteria, ice cream shop and 2 more restaurants are on the lobby side (the side furthest from the beach). Also we would like to mention that from the lobby to the beach is a walk of approximately 10 minutes.
