We had a few problems but they were all worked out. The staff is the best! William and Delvin made our stay enjoyable. The friendly staff is the reason we keep coming back. I can be hard to get reservation for the ala carts so make them the day you arrive.
Stay away from the vacation share guys wearing the green shirts. They will lie to you. Don’t spent the extra for swim up room. It’s not worth it. Food was just okay. Nothing compared to the food at other resorts we have attended. I had to ask staff to clean my room on different days. I do not recommend this resort.
One of our party had to change rooms due to cockroaches. Rats in covered walkways the size of puppies. Almost no protein for vegetarians although Bhogali Indian restaurant was a fabulous exception to this. Groundskeeping staff were awesome, as was Constantine the activities guy. Thanks Coconut man gardener for cheering us up.
Resort, rooms, and a la carte restaurants are great. Beach is beautiful. Fun times at the pool. La Paisana and the Adelina restaurants were very good. So was Sumpatori. Beware of sneaky timeshare presentation as they will tell you they are taking you for a VIP tour of the property. Downfall- people always trying to sell you things on the beach. Very annoying when you are trying to relax. Other than that, the overall resort is beautiful, there is plenty to do or not do… overall the staff is great. Some staff were not nice, but that is true anywhere.
The Palace was a good choice for our first trip back to the D.R. since covid hit. We had a loft room and it was nice to have the extra space, but they have to replace the bathtub in these rooms because it is just not right when you have to use a step to get into it as it is a big step up to get in and a precarious one to get out. The italian restaurant was by far the best and the spanish one (lalola) was by far the worst one. The first few days the buffet was good but it was too repetitive to be really good .Every drink was either too weak or too sweet. Mimosas at breakfast were a nice touch. The pool has lots of palapas for shade and was nice and warm as was the ocean but the beach is not very deep with little shade. The transportation from the Palace to the other restaurants was very frustrating , since you pay so much more to be in the Palace they should have a direct shuttle form lobby to lobby so you don't have to take the 10 minute ride around the resorts. One thing I did notice is paying extra to stay at the Palace really did not get you anything extra, as everyone from the other resorts still went to the same restaurants and could use any of the pools. If I could get this resort for a decent price I would return otherwise I will be trying some where else.…
