We had an excellent time a the Level Melia. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent, we never a bad meal. Special thank you to Eddy Sambo, he made us feel very welcome and took care of our every need. He helped me organize a special dinner on the beach for my husbands birthday and made it so special. Our housekeeper Ivelisse Cedano was the sweetest lady, our room was always spotless. What we really like about this resort was the peacefulness. It was very relaxing, we never had a problem finding a place to sit whether it on the beach or by the pool. We would like to give a special mention to Jean Carlos our driver. My husband and I both have some mobility issues and he was always there in the golf cart to give us a lift to restaurants or main lobby. We cant wait to come back!! Marilyn & Wayne

I visited the Melia Punta Cana Beach, A Wellness Inclusive Resort – Adults Only, The Level Suite Beachside as a solo traveler with special needs. The resort and grounds are beautiful. My stay started off on a bumpy note with my assigned butler not showing up on the first day. The butler who replaced him was attentive for one day then I saw him for 2 minutes the following day and that was it. Thankfully Stephanie the manager saw that I was despondent and approached me to see how things were going. When I explained all that transpired, she promptly had me moved to a unit closer to Quimera and the beach so I wouldn't be dependent on a trolly ride for every meal and trip to the beach. She also replaced my butler and assigned Natividad Jean to me who helped me pack and move. Both were a blessing and really turned my experience around. Natividad is so pleasant, attentive and patient with my limitations - walking as slowly as I needed and mot racing ahead impatiently as the previous butler. The bathroom in my new unit 911 was great because the fan worked as opposed to my previous room 1005. The only drawback was that odors ftom the neighbouring bathroom would com into my unit. For anyone with mobility issues, the toilet is low which is a challenge but thankfully with it's placement in the bathroom, I was able to support myself with the wall and vanity to sit down and get up. The room itself is spacious with lots of storage room and the bed was very comfortable and clean. The snack bar and mini fridge was always replenished. Of note, I preferred the water that was in the upstairs lounge so Natividad replaced the cardboard boxed water with the bottled for me. Very kind. 😊 The food was consistently good (especially the mangú and Moro de Guandules - I couldn't get enough, loved it!), although I did not go to the buffets, besides Dominican night which was excellent. As an international foodie and home chef, I'm now starting to include some of these dishes in my regular diet! I really enjoyed meeting everyone and want to again thank them for their help and kindness which really made my visit special. Some of the notable folks who made my trip fabulous and left me wanting to return includes (sorry if I've forgotten some names): - Stephanie, management staff at guest services - Natividad, lovely butler - Antonia and the other housekeeping lady - Giron, Edwin, Alejandro, drivers - Ruben Castillo and Eriel, Level Lounge snack bar staff - Maira, hostess - Wait staff at the Quimera restaurant – especially the gentleman who normally serves coffee and then beverages at lunch, noted that I hadn't really liked any of the drinks I had all week then surprised me the last day and made me the best sangria I had ever had! Also, this was my first vacation since 2019 so thanks again everyone, especially Natividad for making it so pleasant. I will definitely be asking for your help and company next time I return! 🙏🤗

This was my 4th time at The Level at Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort and wish I could go back tomorrow! Had an amazing 8 day/7 night stay there and came home feeling truly refreshed and relaxed. We had an amazing butler - Bernardo Dona who went above and beyond to make us happy who I highly recommend asking for him. Some nights we opted for Room Service after a long day of sun and Juhoan Pujols took excellent care of us. The restaurant options were amazing and the drinks were exceptional at the Quimera Rooftop -- Victor is a true artist in making cocktails. The YHI Spa was excellent and highly recommend the pool adjacent to them for the ultimate in relaxation. We loved exploring the vast grounds of the property and took many photos with trees that said "Hug Me" in addition to checking out other wellness attractions. Will definitely be returning in 2024!

This was our fourth visit to “The Level at Meliá Punta Cana Beach - Adults only”. We love this Resort, the facilities are outstanding including the accommodations and various Restaurants but most of all we became friendly with a number of Staff Members who make the Resort really come alive and shine. We stayed for 9 nights. There is José Minaya, our Concierge , very reliable and dependable in assisting you to make your stay more enjoyable. He also makes your Restaurant reservations. There is Edwardo Sambo in Guest Service, he will go the extra mile for you including getting Medication from the outside Pharmacy if needed, and in the Restaurant Quimera waiter Miguel is fast on his feet to get your food with a great SMILE. In my book these are the people who make the Resort special. The accommodations are impeccable, very spacious and if your suite is on the ground floor you have access to your own private Patio. The Maid Service is also great, our suite was always kept clean and we had plenty of towels. Most of all the mattress is firm. The Landscaping of the Resort is very eye appealing, there are gardeners all over the Resort to ensure the Resort is clean and the plants are healthy looking. The Pool and Beach facilities are outstanding, what a large Pool, with plenty of Pool Towles. The Service Staffs make their rounds and ask if you wish to have drink, which is included in the price. Here are some of the Restaurants we used in Main Building of the Resort, “Tartufo” offers a great Buffet, also “ Mosaico” ( for Adults only) what a food selection, “La Rumba” for Breakfast & Lunch, with friendly staff, fresh fish grilled in front of you. One thing I noticed already happening at our Spring Visit in 2022, that some Staff is slacking off, this was also noticed by other repeat guests. I also noticed it on this visit. They have forgotten the slogan” that customers make paychecks happen”. They love being on their Cell-Phones. One girl who takes care of the Buffet on the second floor where the registration takes place in particular is NOT very customer oriented. I went up to this food station at 8:00 AM to drink an Espresso since the machine was on the counter including the Coffee. I chased her down in the office to ask for a cup and she replied we open at 10:00 AM… I got the cup. On another day, the Espresso Machine was removed so I ask for an Espresso, well she responded we open at 10:00 AM, she finally agreed to go downstairs to get an Espresso but after a 20 min. wait, she never returned, so I left. Supervision of this young Lady is lacking. Overall the Food quality on this Buffet has declined drastically vs. pervious visits. Where it was really first class. Now they offer mostly “dips” – how low can you go- also the Pastry selections are NOT of the quality what it used to be. But the Management insists they are a 5 Star Resort. These are my observations, because I remember the good old days @ this Resort…what is going on here. But as long, José, Edwardo & Miguel are employed there we shall return. They are the STARS in my book. Overall the Resort is fantastic, but here and there you find a “bad Apple” among the Staff and not everyone is perfect. I salute the three employees I singled out for taking such good care of us. Please tell your new Manger to start training classes with the topic “ how to accommodate a paying guest” and teaching the front line employees through English Classes better knowledge of the English Language instead of checking their iPhones.

Pros - Without exception, that bed was the best I've ever slept in. Food is both varied and repetitious, tasty and nicely presented. I'm a very fussy eater and had no trouble (over)-eating every day. My only complaint would be that the desserts are not as good as other resorts we've stayed at. Yamel is a great concierge, very eager to please, and always available. The staff, in general, are very friendly and obliging... those who complain of bad treatment probably deserve it. Cons - Main lobby seating is pretty to look at but uncomfortable and awkward. No evening entertainment, to speak of. A quick 30-60 minute act (singer, acrobat, painter) then it's just you and all you can drink. Daytime activities did not seem to follow the printed schedule. I missed out on a few that I very much wanted to participate in. Call me tacky but I like to hear Caribbean music when I'm in the Caribbean. The new-age-y stuff that's played everywhere, all day, drove me crazy. The towel guy will remove the towel you put down in the morning (to reserve your spot) to replace with towels for guests who pay him to do it, so they can sleep in. Wish I'd known this earlier on... Punta Cana Airport - I don't know whether to blame the airport or Air Transat, but the check-in when we were leaving (despite having the required e-ticket) was an absolute sh*t-show. Totally disorganized - two agents behind the counter to check in 2 flights, hundreds of people. It was an exhausting and frustrating end to our vacation. Oh, and 3 days later we both tested positive for Covid (not blaming anyone for that, just looking for sympathy, lol.) If you have any questions, just ask.

Late 50's couple from Canada. Seasoned 30 year Caribbean travellers. 5th trip to DR. 1st time at Melia. Level Master Suite Beachside Dec 14 - Dec 26, 2022. It was basically 2 adjoining suites (one bedroom + one living room, 2 full baths, double balcony, nice view of ocean 50 meters away. Lots to say about this place. It's BIG. Basically 3 resorts within the resort. Family side (didn't really check that out) and the Adults Only side. The Adults Only side also offers the Level area that provides additional / exclusive benefits. We suggest considering your room location carefully. If you have a garden view room close to the front main lobby, you will need to get a trolly to the beach area for breakfast / lunch. They loop around every 5 min or so. Level guests can also get the golf cart directly back to the Level reception. All the daytime action is around the beach and beach side pools / restaurants. The main front lobby area and spa are very quiet during the day but it's hopping at night for dinners and entertainment. Airport arrival: Taxi kiosk. $30 US is the standard cab from the airport. About 20 min. Check-In: Level building. Perfect. 5/5 Grounds: Huge and lovely, very well kept, above par. 4.5/5 Room #1615 / #1614: Above our expectations. 5/5 Housekeeping: Needs improvement. Items not always replenished (coffee, hand / face towels), had a foldaway bed parked outside our room for 3 days. Butler looked after us. 3/5 Food / Bev: Lots of selection, buffets theme changed everyday, no problem booking a'la carts the morning of your dinner. 3.5/5 Pools / Beach: Lots of palapas, balibeds and no problem finding lounge chairs. The best spots at both go very early. Beach seaweed was a daily maint item they don't / can't get ahead of. 3.5/5 Service: General staff - Above average. Level staff - excellent. 4.5/5 I don't normally call out staff by name (you don't know if that person will be there in the future) but this guy deserves a special shout out. Our butler / concierge, Jose Acosta, assigned to us at the Level check in, was exceptional. Best thing I did was give him my cell number at check in. He texted me EVERY morning asking what (if anything) we needed, what the entertainment / special events were for the day, and asking where we would like dinner reservations that evening. He was attentive, but not intrusive, looked after all details big and small, and somehow he managed to find us daily, regardless of our location, just to say Hola in person. If he was tracking my cellphone I'm totally cool that. I had him on speed text LOL. He made a huge difference including looking after us when we were stranded there an extra 3 nights due to airline fiasco's over Christmas 2022. He even texted me a few days after our departure back to Canada to see if we made it with our luggage OK. That's a service level you just don't see much of anymore. Jose Acosta 10/5 On another note, WiFi is good around any of the major resort buildings / restaurants and suites. It gets sketchy as you move closer to the beach. Cell service is fine in the area. Other than the flight turmoil and added 3 night expense (WestJet), this was an excellent stay. Definitely recommend.

We loved this resort. We had a "butler" assigned to us for the entire stay. They communicate by app and will book all your restaurant bookings for you. Beach area is beautiful. They were putting up new palapas on the beach area, I counted over 100 new ones. Pool area is amazing. The level guests have a special area around the pool and beach area that has drink service. You don't need a room card to get towels; one day a 15 minute wind and rain storm came up and the staff came down to the beach picked up the wet towels and gave out clean one. Food was excellent as well, although if you are not booked in to one of the a-la-carte restaurants near the beach, you have to go to the main lobby for the evening meal which wasn't as good as the lunch time buffet. Overall, we would definitely go here again. A fair amount of staff have issues communicating and speak mainly spanish.

We thought the reviews must be totally false until we arrived and found we couldn’t get access to restaurants or any kind of service never mind level perks, forced to eat in main buffet. No room service and I only requested green juice and coffee, told to make my own coffee, No food to room. There ended up cleaning up flooding in our suite following a hurricane a few days later and we were forgotten about for two days no food or water. All outlets closed down. Beach beds filthy and truck food disgusting. They ended up moving us to circle area for last few days but felt like ghost area. Never going to any Melia unless they pay me to receive proper holiday attention. MELIA CARIBE LEVEL No wonder they keep changing the hotel complex name, should just demolish whole complex as half of it building site anyway.

We just returned from spending a fabulous Thanksgiving week at the Meliá Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort. It was a great experience because of the overall resort environment and the accommodations at the Level, which included butler services from Jenfry DeJesus. Jenfry was very attentive, pleasant and responsive to our needs, interests, and preferences to ensure that we had a good time. He always met us with a positive greeting and smile to assist with spa appointments, dinner reservations with certain restaurants, personal requests, and even helped to plan a special birthday surprise with for my husband. Nathan was truly surprised by the special birthday cake and song at Muoi, and shared with Jenfry how thoughtful he was to make his day fun!. In addition, the Meliá staff were great. We had extra special service from Roslynn and Juan F at the restaurant, Quimera, Yolanda at Yhi Spa, and assistance from Jean and Jorge at the Reception Area. The environment was well designed and appointed to promote full relaxation. Thank you for a special week. We will be back!! Paula and Nathan from Atlanta

My wife and I had a fantastic trip in late November of 2022. First, I’ll give you the pros: We upgraded to The Level and it certainly was worth it. The Level Lobby had lots of liquor to make our own drinks with. We made this a nightly ritual to stop in and make a couple of drinks. Our room was fantastic and the cleaning service was perfect. Absolutely no complaints there. The main pool was great with plenty of room but The Level pool was a great upgrade. A little more quiet with a swim up pool. We had a concierge who made all of our dinner reservations for us and he did a fantastic job. He checked in with us every day to make sure our trip was running smooth. (Ask for Armante! He is so great, we tipped him twice!) Around the pool area, they had small little classes that we enjoyed a lot. One day, we sat in a cocktail workshop. They taught us how to make a few different drinks and everyone got to taste test. Great for a break while relaxing at the pool. For the not-such-a-big-deal cons: The trains that take you around the resort aren’t labeled, nor is it communicated to you which one is which. It took us a couple of days to figure out which one took you where. A simple labeled sign or color coding sign would fix this. Our room was right on the beach and right next to the main pool (which was great!) but The Level Pool is towards the front of the resort and was a bit of a walk to get to. This applies to the Level lobby as well. It’s not as accessible as it should be. With that said, that didn’t stop us from enjoying these services. Just be advised, it is a little bit of a walk if a train isn’t nearby. This is not an issue with the resort but be advised that the beach is public per DR law. This means that anyone can walk around on the beach property including salesmen. You will get asked a few times about excursions and/or jewelry. We never felt hassled, politely said no thank you and went on our way. Also, you will get stopped a few times around the pool from salesmen inside the resort on excursions. Again, if you’re not interested, politely say no and they will not hassle you. And finally, most of our food was good but some of it truly was hit or miss. Mostly that applied to the buffets, which is to be expected in any buffet. While it has some minor flaws, we would absolutely come back to this resort. Beautiful grounds, great service and fun, relaxed atmosphere. (A little tip: if you go to this resort, go to the main lobby bar or Level lobby for your drinks! Best bars in the resort!)
