The Iberostar Grand Bavaro is a fantastic resort. The staff caters to your every need and provide outstanding customer service. Rafael has great customer skills and personality to match at the check-in desk. Our butler Danilo was great and always made sure we were taken care of. Nikel and Julio in the lobby ensured we had all our needs taken care of and assisted us with getting our Covid test and excursions booked. Lorraine, one of the hostesses at the buffet and at the restaurants always has a smile on her face and is quick to greet us and make sure we had drinks. Darlyn in the Star Prestige lobby is very professional and made sure we had our favorite wine delivered to the restaurants to have with dinner. He also, jumped in to assist when our airport transfer was late by calling the company. Overall the staff cannot do enough for you and always make you feel like a VIP. Housekeeping always kept our room spotless and ensured we had plenty of towels. The entertainment be the lobby is great and full of talent. The theaters show were also wonderful. The pool was clean and there was always an available cabañas and lounge chairs. We were only able to go in the water at the beach a couple of days due to seaweed but other than that the beach was great. No rocks or rough surf. Manuel at the Star Prestige section of the beach, greeted us by name everyday always had a cabana ready for us and with our favorite drinks. The food was also great. The breakfast buffet doesn't disappoint and the specialty restaurants stepped up their game from past visits. I highly recommend the Japanese restaurant. …

The place was amazing!! The attention to detail was superb the staff were extremely helpful and polite. Ery and Kevlin made our days by the pool and beach memorable, their laughter and smiles are contagious!!! Rafael and Jean were wonderful and helpful!!! Danilo and Salvador are the best of the best!!! Iberostar is truly lucky to have such gracious and amicable people on their staff and we are beyond grateful that our first vacation to the DR was guided by simply incredible staff!!! WE can’t wait to visit again! Thank you Danilo and Salvador for everything!!!
While the reviews of this property are fantastic, I was a little let down by the experience itself. The good: - Nice grounds - Hardworking people on staff - The property is clean - Nice beach The not so good: - Shape of the hotel leaves little opportunity for water views compared to other resorts I've stayed at. The uncharge for an "ocean view" room was not at all worth the money as you had to be on a sliver of the balcony to see the water (and we were on the closer end to the ocean). Even the "ocean front" rooms didn't see like they would have that great of a view - The pool, while pretty, was COLD. Even the hot tubs really weren't that warm. And it isn't really an infinity pool as you can't see the ocean from the front edge (it is too low & there is foliage in the way) - Overall, the staff was good and helpful, but sometimes it really felt like they were just working it for the tips and reviews. One of the ladies was trying to force people to write reviews on the spot and mention her. The women were also a little too touchy feely with the men at night. Ick. - The food was really not great. For this level of resort, it should be good. - The mini bar was kind of a joke. A couple of bottles of soda and bad beer. Not really any snacks in the room - just a few jars of partially eaten plantains and 2 chocolate bars. - The crowd is newlyweds and 60+. No middle ground.…
First trip to the Dominican Republic and it was fantastic! The Iberostar Grand Bavaro hotel exceeded our expectations and would recommend it to anyone thinking about visiting the DR. The resort is on the smaller side but was just right for us. It was quiet, relaxing and the staff is so nice. We had the butler service and our butlers, Danilo and Salvador took care of everything we needed. They booked all of our dinner reservations, made sure our mini bar was stocked with any special requests and were always quick to ask if there was anything we needed when we chatted throughout the day. Transportation to and from the airport was really easy and was only about a 30 minute drive. I didn’t play golf while at the resort but when passing by, the golf course looked to be in tremendous shape and made me wish I had brought my clubs. Next time. If you are thinking about visiting the DR and are looking for an upscale all-inclusive, give the Iberostar Grand Bavaro a shot, you will love it!…
My wife and I, along with another couple spent a week at the IGB. This was our fourth time staying at this resort. The last time that we visited the resort was in January, 2017. While it's been 6 years since our last visit, we found that conditions at resort has remained high. The grounds were well maintained, Upon arrival at the resort, you are greeted my staff providing you a cool cloth to cool and refresh yourself. Check in was quick and easy. We were immediately escorted to our rooms. Our Oceanview room was located above the main lobby, which provided an excellent view of the ocean and pool areas. We ate dinner each evening at 6:30 pm. Our travel agent contacted the resort and booked our restaurant reservations for us ahead of our arrival. We dined at all of the restaurants, but we really the food served at El Galeon (Surf & Turf) and Hashire (Japanese) the most. Each morning after securing our cabana near the pool at 7:00 am, we dined for breakfast in the Bella Vista Main Buffet, usually at 8:30 am. On the first few days, we dined for lunch in the La Perla Beach Restaurant, but found the food not as appetizing. In years past, the restaurant served grilled lobster on their lunch menu. We found many of the meat selections to be over cooked, and uneatable. We switched to having lunch in the Bella Vista Main Buffet, and found the food there much more appetizing. While at the resort our daily needs were monitored and cared for by our Butler Dawel, and later by his assistant Butler Staling. These two gentlemen were well groomed, polite, and professional. Throughout our stay, we had daily contact with resort staff. We were very impressed by the appearance, politeness, and professional manner of the resort's personnel. All of the personnel that we encountered were well groomed. Your resort staff are truly an asset to your the Iberostar Brand. We would like to commend the following personnel who made our week in Paradise so enjoyable; Dawel, Staling, Javiela, Rosia (Concierge), Enriique, David, Laura, Maria (Cook), Yari (Bella Vista Receptionist), and Carlos. The service from our butlers (Salvador & Danilo) was amazing along with all of the staff at both the pool/beach and restaurants. The only reason I rated it a 4 instead of a 5 is due to the amount of people trying to sell items (pictures, paintings, bracelets, excursions, cigars, etc) on the beach, the Iberostar membership presentation that lasted 2.5 hours when we were told it would last 1.5 hours, and the 4.5 hour golf rounds.
We had a wonderful time at this great resort! Our Butlers, Gerlyn & Armando, made our stay extra special with their service & friendliness! The restaurants & food were truly wonderful experiences. Between the friendly staff, super clean facilities & the fact you never felt crowded made it a pleasure to visit. We will definitely return! Thank you!!
