We just returned from a girls trip yesterday. We had a great time at the resort. Had the pleasure of meeting a concierge by the name of Nicodemos. He definitely made our trip more enjoyable and memorable by setting us up with great events and excursions. He also went out of his way to make sure that everything that we needed was handled. I always find the pros/cons list useful so here you go
Pros:
Rooms were nice and clean
Staff was all friendly and very helpful (and all spoke English)
The beach area was large and very beautiful
Drinks were plentiful and bar locations are everywhere on the resort
Pools were fun and lively
Dinner options were excellent
Lots of shops and activities right on the resort
24 hour room service (all included)
Nightly entertainment was good
Cons:
A lot of services and excursions required cash (no credit cards)
Breakfast buffet and lunch options were just ok
The beach and pools were quite a distance from most rooms ( trolleys run constantly through the resort, but we found it faster to walk than to wait for one)
Water is quite rough on this side of the island
Prices for activities/excursions differed with every person that we spoke with

This is a very big resort. Much larger than we typically visit. We don't typically do resorts for families so that was a first for us, but it wasn't an issue. The resort has a a great setup of having things for families, but children weren't running around in every location. If you wanted to have something just adults, you easily could. The food selection was fine. Plan to make reservations for anywhere you want to go for dinner if it isn't a buffet, and do it the first day you arrive because times were very limited for reservations. We had a small group, and still couldn't get decent times. Plenty of pools, very friendly staff, not every bar makes every specialty drink so if you have something you like one day and you pick a different pool or beach location make sure they have the equipment to make the drink you want. We traveled just prior to the COVID19 shut down of the DR and this resort, literally left a day before. The staff all did a great job of supplying extra sanitizer everywhere we went. As said previously, we are more familiar with smaller resorts. We found the beach and pool areas to be a little more dirty than we are used to. In the morning we'd see trash laying on the beach, under chairs etc. They were cleaning but these were things we noticed as we walked around. The room was clean, but we noticed the grounds weren't typical to other resorts we've been. It could be that this resort is so much bigger and that many more people there, hard for staff to keep up. Be ready for the beach salespeople to be coming around trying to sell you goods. They aren't too pushy and most take no just find. They need to make a living. All in all this is a nice resort especially for its close proximity to the airport and for the price we received over the holidays on special.

We enjoyed our stay here. The reviews are right, the resort is SO LARGE. It is almost too big. We did not get to visit many of the spots on the resort and missed a couple restaurants.
Our favorite was the Zen hibachi restaurant with the steakhouse coming in second. The pizza place and bistro are great for quick snacks and very good.
Unfortunately, the main buffet restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was closed for renovations. Very disappointed we were not told about this ahead of time. We are with a group of 12 ranging from ages 19-75 so we needed the buffet to be able to come and go when we please. The only options for dinner without reservations are the Mediterranean Bistro (sandwiches and exotic food) and pizza. You need reservations every where else or risk a two hour wait.
We did make our reservations the first day after finding this out. Our assistant for our room was very helpful and not too pushy when it came to the time share. We just told her no.
The drinks were good. The only beer they had is Presidente, but is a decent light beer. The mini bars were removed from our rooms because it was during the time where some people in the Dominican were mysteriously dying, possibly from bootleg alcohol.
No one in our group got sick despite the wide age range and multiple people.
We did not have to get up early to save beach chairs, but we were told the resort was only 60% full when we were there.
All the staff members were SO nice. Each and every one of them.
There are several trollies that will take you around the resort, but you may have to wait a bit for them. Beware of them too because the drivers drive fast and jerky.
We did not use our resort credits. Even if we used all our credits, golf was still over $100.
There was karaoke almost every night and the night bar was always hopping so we liked that. We never paid the extra money to go to the Oro Nightclub.
The shows were great!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and I would go back to another Hard Rock in another country!

Traveled with my family of 5. Based on other reviews we had really high expectations for Hard Rock. We understand that based on the current circumstances created by the pandemic, things have changed and protocols have to be put in place to protect the health of everyone. We were aware prior to traveling that certain amenities would not be available, and we were more than willing to sacrifice not being able to do certain things. What we were not prepared for was the lack of service and the poor quality of food and entertainment options. Room service consisted of turkey and cheese or ham and cheese (stale bread and one slice of meat and cheese), And two small salads. Dining was limited and the food was horrible, almost tasted like microwave meals. No entertainment for the kids, and the child care center wasn’t doing anything to make the kids want to come back and allow the parents to have some down time or spa time. A lot of the staff members were unfriendly and unwelcoming. Pool music was shut down by 6pm. I will give credit where it’s due, the sanitation methods used were on point and highly efficient. After we finished our game of bowling, they cleaned each bowling ball and the station used. Even the remote control in the room was wrapped in plastic, which I think this is something that all hotels should do after each person checks out. For the price, which we payed a pretty penny, we were very unhappy. Again, I understand the pandemic has changed everything and we understood the circumstances would be different. But this is no excuse to sacrifice quality... It was a horrible feeling trying to relax with your family in a suite that you payed good money for and you couldn’t even get food besides an old turkey sandwich (Majority of my family is vegetarian). Same story at the pool. Maybe they reopened too soon and just aren’t prepared, but also don’t charge full price for half service. I highly recommend avoiding this resort for the next few months. You will be disappointed.

This is my second time at this resort in about 5 years, it went from 3 to a 4 for me. I had a very different experience this time around mainly due to the pandemic. However it’s important to discuss the experience we had at the front desk when we got here. I travel often and usually do my one booking, however my cousin found this amazing offer on the HR website and she booked it. It had an offer of 2 kids free for every 2 adults for the room, we loved it and took all four of our children and booked 2 rooms. When we got here we were told that si ve the call center had not put a note about the offer (that was still available online) we would have to pay $140.00 extra per night for every 2 kids. What happened next was expected, the customer service representative that morning, who was a short, girl with glasses, printed out the confirmation and with polite words told us that the offer was not available for us and we would have to pay for the kids. Then came Jeffrin who I would refer to as Jeff, and provided us the most amazing customer service. He was courteous, empathetic and most important attentive, he listened to us, and told us what the situation was, he was very transparent and patient with us. We asked for a supervisor, and he made sure our situation was sorted out. It took us 2 hours to check in and he never lost his patience. In the end everything worked out! But I am sure that if it wasn’t for Jeff we would still be at the check-in counter.
Now in regards to the norms during the pandemic, the staff here is very well informed on the social distancing norms required at this moment, there are signs everywhere you look instructing you of how to keep yourself and others safe. They have mask available everywhere you look and all the food areas have been rearranged to provide the best higiene possible. My family had a great time

Cleanliness 0 of 5
Drinks at the Pool 1 of 5
Room had bugs…
Employee’s seemed to be completely disappointed with the management changes so their staff was not working properly to welcome guest, Cesmary Valenzuela was our Representative at the hotel and tried to explain, first that it was supposed to be better if we had a membership…. Drinks are watered down so if you drink Pepsi Orange juice or any drink will be watered down. At Sax Pool or at the kids pool we couldn’t get “piña colada”… Or frozen drinks at Sax Pool bartender didn’t have a blender… Food was great at Isla for breakfast & for dinner, breakfast at the market was good Isla breakfast and dinner 4 of 5 the market breakfast 3 of 5. We didn’t go to the Zen but some friends did go and they rated it 5 of 5, Lunch at Ipanema 3 of 5 and dinner 2 of 5, We we’re expecting a real Brazilian Steak House not that scam. The golf carts that are supposed to move the people are so disorganized that they don’t even know where they go, so better wave some money or complain so you get where you want. With al due respect management is a Sh1t, employees are nice but they’re not motivated the place is beautiful but disorganized… checking in & out was quick, check in 35 to 40 minutes check out around 15 minutes. They didn’t help when was trying to change money so I could tip the personnel they say that they didn’t have…
Edwin at the room service great person 5 of 5
Deibi ( Barak ) 5 of 5 waiter
Francisco 5 of 5 waiter.
Management should try to hire people that welcomes you instead of making you run out most of the people don’t care for the guests. After a week at the Hard Rock we decided to extend our vacations to give a try as a family to Punta Cana we were so disappointed with the Hard Rock that we had to book a room at Barcelo Bávaro Palace, still at the location where they treat you as a customer not like garbage. Never again will go with my family to any hard rock thanks to this experience.
Hard Rock has a great Hotel just need to work out their staff and their supplies so they don’t run out of pepsi and give you water with color instead … the orange juice that was disgusting or the piña colada that they didn’t have… don’t ask for a mud slide or anything like that because maybe they don’t know it or they don’t have a blender…

Took my family past week, since we are in the midle of the pandemic we had some doubts about going and have a relief of being confined at home.
Gotta say that the resort fulfilled all my expectations. There's a lot of food options inside the resort, lot of pools to chill and relax, the people serving there is the most wonderful thing they have.
But not all is flower colored here, they have couple things to make it better, I'll try to be clear with this:
1. The bellboy service, if you check-in at your time (let's say, 3PM) you'll find a lot of bags are already there, basically they will tell you to leave your bags there and they will take it to your room. This service is so bad, that I had to go by myself to rescue my baggage. I came at 1pm, promptly had my bracelets and went to a restaurant to have our lunch. Punta Cana is pretty warm, we made our hour till the 3PM and we reached the lobby to gather our room keys. What we were needing is to take a shower and start the relaxation time, but we were waiting for the bags until 7PM. Yes, with 3 kids sweaty and the clothes in our bags at the front desk bags section with no hope of getting it soon I took the decision to go for my bags. It was not funny, at least the guy was very polite and helpful (there is not complaint about the people at all).
2. The infrastructure inside the rooms need some caring, some parts are aging or already broken or bad repaired (pay attention to it)
3. The resort is huge, a better transport schedule inside the resort would be appreciated, specially with the sun hitting so hard. The shuttle drivers are one of the most helpful people there (I told you, you have an amazing value with that people, I've been in many hotels but never received that amazing service)
Due the spread of COVID-19 the resort is taking extra measures for sanitizing every single place, they are doing an amazing job there. Congratulations.
Thank you HR and hope every visitor have the wonderful experience I had with my family vacation.

We are a family of four (two adults and two children) who spent last week at Hard Rock Punta Cana. We had a family suite which was very large, clean, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, sitting area and bar area with a large balcony (and outside furniture and table). The pools are beautiful, we spent most of our time at the Moon pool which was much more quiet than the Central pool. Poolside service was excellent and servers throughout the restaurants were very good. We rented a Bali Bed one day on the beach which was wonderful! The beach is gorgeous, very large with strong surf. The food is just ok, Toro was the best restaurant we ate at. Poolside food is largely hamburgers, hot dogs, etc although a buffet is open at one of the restaurants near the pools with much more choices. We recommend making dinner reservations before you arrive, at least for the first few days.
The cons were that the room service menu was very limited (disappointingly so) although the room service delivery was usually quick and always friendly. Separate than room service, we called the front desk several times for juice and chocolate milk for the kids in room fridge and it was always "coming soon", but never did. It would have been fine if they said they didn't have it (they had that in Hard Rock Mexico which the kids loved and then expected) versus just not delivering. Our concierge called us at 8:45am the first morning to check in - nice gesture but we were still sleeping. There are lots of activities to do - many of of which have an additional charge. $40 per person for the Escape room or $50 for four people to do Laser Tag - seemed excessive to us given the cost of the all inclusive.
All in all we had a very good vacation. We slightly prefer the Hard Rock Riveria Maya for the choices of excursions and smaller size.

I've been to Punta Cana at least 12 x and have stayed at many all inclusives there. Hard Rock was the best experience so far. The staff was genuinely friendly and always happy to help. They have a party atmosphere every day. The entertainment at night was the best I've experienced in Punta Cana. People from American Idol were featured, and the different bands each night were all excellent. Whether you like healthy food, or the typical unhealthy food, they have the best selection and quality of food in Punta Cana. Their hamburgers were made from angus beef. The hotel is on a beautiful beach there, with no seaweed washing up, and the water was warm and crystal clear. The fitness center has adequate equipment, and a second room, where you can project a class of your choice on a screen, using their iPad. There is so much to see and do at this hotel. We stayed a week, and we still discovered new things to see and do there up until the last day. Hard Rock has something for everyone. I would love to return there with my adult children and my grandchildren. Kids have a great experience there. I will definitely return to this location or another of the Hard Rock Hotels in the future.

Overall great property. Top notch service, every time we called for something they responded very timely. Room service for breakfast twice was very good and was delivered in around 30 minutes. My wife's toothbrush broke and called to see if they could bring us one and it came within 15 minutes!
Our room location was as far away from the beach as you can get but close to the mall/lobby area. Plenty of shuttles, so easy to navigate the huge layout of the property.
Mostly hung out at the Isla pool great service there as well , Diandra and Yudelka were great plus all the bartenders especially at the Toro restaurant.
Buffet for dinner was average, Isla for breakfast was very good. Toro, Zen, Ipanema were our group's favorite restaurants for dinner.
We did use the spa and salon and had great service there also.
Good resort overall and would return if the price is right

Technically no. But most times they don't stop you if you hang out at the member pools
