This hotel is listed by name cosy stay on Oyo. We cheked in around 4:30/5 on 21 march. It was very hot and ac was not cooling. We told the staff within 20 min, they said it takes time to cool. After half and hour more, we again we complained, we were told voltage was low and eventually it will work. We went off to the beach after this. Returned back and still the ac was not working. My mom checked nearby rooms to shift after all this hassle. We found a room next door with perfectly working ac and we told we want to check out. We said we are ready to pay half the price for 3/4 hrs that we kept our luggage there, a woman took our luggage and told she will not let us check out unless we pay them full. To add to the above experience we had to call every time for a bucket, soaps, water, the room service was extremely poor. We felt so harassed in a strange town. We told them to let us go, else we will have to call the police. They said please do call. We waited for an hour for the police to arrive, since the hone stay goes by 2 names online, cosy stay and the one above. We eventually paid them 2/3 amount and left after the police came. Really bad experience, not recommended. Pathetic, spoiled our day and trip.…
We were looking a peaceful place to stay in Marari beach and stayed at Marari Cleetus for 6nights. We stayed at on of the rooms closer 50m from the Marari beach. The staff was so helpful and friendly to us during our stay and could speak good english. Thank you very much for making our small vacation relaxed and enjoyable!
We had booked the sea view cottages four months ahead. However the night before our arrival, heavy rains caused severe leakage of the roofs and the rooms were not habitable. we only discovered this after reaching the place so were initially very disappointed. We were given alternate rooms a little further down the road. Which was almost as good. Many of the homestays in mararikulam seem to be located on this sand road which leads to the beach. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE TILL THE HOMESTAY YOUR VEHICLE COULD GET STUCK IN THE SAND LIKE OURS DID. The beach is a fishermans beach. Not much rubbish but a little smelly (human waste) and a not shallow. Not many shells, too rough to swim but we enjoyed playing in the waves. The owners were very friendly people, eager to oblige. The food was excellent, cooked as per request. Roughly 400rs per person per meal for non veg, unlimited. There were many flies, which seemed to be everywhere in this locality. soap bar and toilet paper are provided on request. Meals are served only after request, we did not realize this so we were politely waiting for our food. There are bakeries a very short walk away. Internet was intermittently fast. Bathrooms are large. Rooms are reasonably clean. No lined dustbins in the toilet. The owners live right behind these rooms. Overall this was an average stay, the highlight being the friendliness of the owners and the food. The beach was average, the facilities are basic but all that is really needed. This was our first homestay experience so we realise that although it may not come upto to good hotel standards it is really worth it for the price!…
We began our visit to Marari beach in another home-stay, but luckily came upon the beach villa of Marari Cleetus, and we changed over the next day. They have one villa on beach separate from the main property, where we stayed. However, you would probably have to reserve this in advance especially during the season. The beach villa is worth the extra cost for the proximity to beach, ambience and sense of personal privacy. We enjoyed 2 nights here and although the sea was too rough to swim, we did have a nice time sleeping in the hammock and whiling away the hours reading and taking walks. The staff are very nice and friendly. Mr. Augustine and his nephew Joe were excellent. The included breakfast was good and filling, and there are beach-side restaurants just a stone's throw away for lunch and dinner. Nice, relaxing place!…
We spent two nights here after flying into India to recuperate and get ready for our India adventure. Was absolutely perfect for us. The food that was cooked for us each day (you just need to tell them in advance what you want and they will buy it and cook it for you) was amazing. On the first night our room had an electrical problem so they moved us to one of the beachfront huts which was amazing! Rooms are not luxury but this is India - clean and simple is all you need! Staff were always happy to answer our questions and help us out - they gave us a beach umbrella and chairs so we could sit on the beach. The beach is a short walk away and there are other restaurants and places you can eat or just buy a coconut to drink. The beach and water is very clean and good for swimming - though the surf is a little daunting but not dangerous and plenty of people swimming. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants some quiet beach time, excellent local food (honestly some of our best meals in India were here) and somewhere comfy to sleep. Wifi was available (not all the time but most of the time) and was fast enough for what we needed.…
The best value for money we ever had in India. People are so nice! You stay really close to the beach. We took 2 rooms as we where a family with 4 kids. Last but not least : they can prepare for you very good dishes for dinner. And we asked for non spicy food and for the first time we obtained really non spicy food! Only to recommend!
Marari was the last stop in our south India sojourn of August 2016. Augustine, His brother Jamon, Augustine wife and mother all welcome you and make you part of there family. We were here for three nights. They have two options one home stay is part of a big house in which there are 4 rooms for the guests and the Augustine family stays at the back, The rooms are very well kept and have AC and attached bathrooms. This property is less than 100 meters from the beach. U can sometimes hear the ocean but not see. The other property in which we stayed is made of two rooms one with AC and one without (although the second room ac was also ready fro installation), This property is bang on the beach and the ocean can be heard and seen, 25 meters from the ocean. :-).. For breakfast and dinner one can either walk to the main property or can be served on the porch here. We were served at the porch itself. FOOD:- Amazing local cuisine dishes made and served. Food is both tasty and reasonably priced. On request fresh TODDI can be arranged. Fresh coconut water is also served. Pl ask them to prepare local dishes for you and these will be made. Try the apam and idli its very good. The home stay is both comfortable and well located. On our request we spent one night at the secluded stay and two nights at the bigger property. All in all a very good home stay and food. Will be there again in 2018 god willing. Cheers…
Went to Marari beach last weekend with friends & family , a group of 8 including my 2 yr old kid. Had pre-booked 4 rooms at Cleetus and we arrived to find neatly maintained rooms waiting for us. Joemon, the caretaker even helped us to have all our rooms together in one place and lent us his bike when we had to go buy some stuff. The place is really close to the beach, a 2 mins walk. Rooms are spacious. There aren't many restaurants around so you can either order in or drive to town to find good food. Overall a really excellent place to stay and have a good beach time. Free Wifi and Complimentary breakfast[customisable] are included and the breakfast was yummy too,
Right in front of the beach ( <50m ) Very clean & spacious rooms Free wi-fi Restaurants are spread all across ( neena was the closest & best food ) Barbecue shall be set up if you ask for it. Byob- they'll provide glasses & other knick knacks N their breakfast was just finger licking yummy ( you can ask for breakfast as per your taste ) This is by far our best home stay , which is almost a resort but always ask for sea view rooms - they have only 2 which are adjacent to each other.
Pleasant stay.. great option on Marari Beach... delicious breakfast and dinner options... Highly recommended.. best value for money... beach is just 5mins walking distance.. Marari beach is by far the best beach in Kerala.. others are overcrowded and dirty
