Marari Beach sprawls across 55 acres of lawns, far-flung lotus ponds and whispering coconut groves, all threaded through with stone- flagged pathways. Living: Modelled on the fishermens' dwellings of Mararikulam, your accommodations are a fine balance between traditional form and modern function. Dining: At Marari Beach, you can enjoy the simple traditional dishes of the fisherfolk (along with, of course , a variety of international cuisine favourites) at our verandah- style restaurant. Dinners are candlelit, often with live music. Healing: Marari Beach has a fully equipped ayurvedic centre, so you can get all the benefits of this ancient system of medicine. Put yourself in the hands of our expert masseuses and you'll feel reborn. There are also regular yoga classes on the beach, in the thick of a cool coconut grove. The locale, we're told, does wonders for your inner serenity. Need we say more?

We went to India for 3 weeks. At the End of our journey we came to Kerala and to the Marari Beach Resort. We felt like in Paradise. The welcoming was really warm. The hotel room was lovely and really big. The room keeping was very nice and always lefted fresh flowers in the room. The whole hotel facility was always clean. The Pool is great and also really big. Perfect for swimming. I also loved the near sea. the palm trees provided natural shade. The food everywhere in the hotel was delicious. There was indian and asian food but also european food. We felt really Safe and comfortable. The staff was always courteous and friendly. I don't know but I have absolutely nothing bad to say. Thank you for the beautif

Hotel's Favourite
A pretty large resort, self contained with tons of activities around, helpful staff and great food. Their pool villas are worth the hype! The resort is built with lots of trees, ponds and gardens and makes for a great walk around. They have lots of birds visiting their property and a little flower garden that attracts butterflies. We had a great time with their naturalist, Shibu Bhaskar, who took us on a bird watching and butterfly watching tour. He could name a flying bird with just a glimpse and identify a butterfly species even from a larva. There are lots of outdoor/indoor games, a restaurant and a beach side shack, and a private access to the beach (the beach itself isn't private, but is considerably quiet and clean, and has life guards employed by the hotel). In addition to all this, it's the little attention to detail that set this place apart. Like placing a French press and ground coffee rather than the cheap alternative - instant coffee pouches. Keeping the room AC on to a pre-set temperature before arrival. Ensuring the room has a pleasant smell on arrival (few five star hotels do this!). Putting up an envelope to self-declare what you've consumed from the mini-bar rather than sending housekeeping staff to keep a check on them. (One of the five star hotels I'd earlier visited had a housekeeping person showing up at my room at 1 pm everyday just to check mini-bar! It was ridiculous! Due to that experience, I appreciate this resort's policy even more) Also, the little things that the staff did that made our stay truly memorable. Small gestures like the chef remembering our choice of food at the live counter on the second day. The reception staff welcoming us warmly on arrival and seeing us off like a family would, on departure.

This is an enchanting hotel on the beach. Highly recommended is the special fish restaurant (book early), the chai on the lawn in the afternoon and a Tuk tuk trip to see the local fishermen landing their catch in the morning. However favourite experience was the time spent with Shibu, the naturalist attached to the hotel. A wonderful, gentle man with a vast knowledge of flora and fauna, and in particular the myriad birds that will surround you. Sadly our stay was not long enough to visit his own garden.

From the moment we arrived till we left we have received the most wonderful care and attention. We have been here for 5 nights and have used almost all the amenities on the resort plus the restaurants. Starting off the grounds are fantastic and the beach and pool were great. Everything clean and looked after very well. We enjoyed the time spent with Shibu on the bird tour and managed to see lots of birds and owls in particular. We also went to his garden early in the morning and spent a good 1 1/2 hours enjoying the wildlife. Highly recommend this. Just ask at reception. Also both of us enjoyed the full body massage. There is a great range of different massages available. One of the best massages I have had. Don’t miss the afternoon tea trolley with savoury and sweet snacks. All the restaurants were good quality. Enjoyed lobster at the grill on 2nd last night. Final shoutout to all the wonderful staff. From the lady who serviced our room , the bar and restaurant staff, the events people , pool and beach staff and reception. Thank you for a wonderful end to a wonderful Grand Tour of India

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days at the resort. The room was fantastic with an outdoor bathroom. We had an extra bed made up for the kids. The ocean water was warm and the beach was clean. We all enjoyed the huge pool, the game room, the bird watching (a must do experience), the butterfly garden, and the tea cart in the afternoon. Great food, great property, and great service. Highly recommend.

Really quite fabulous with a tremendous sense of peace and calm. The bedrooms are quite basic but they are clean, spacious and I loved the semi open plan bathroom. Very strong eco credentials thus all coffee, teas and wines are Indian and very good too, in the main restaurant all jams, granola, chutneys etc are made if not on site then by CG Earth. Staff really friendly and helpful and I can never understand how smiley the Indians are. I found the food excellent - breakfasts were very good plentiful, the omelettes were good although the first day it was undercooked but the remaining two days perfect; the buffets were plentiful and delicious and cost 1500 rupees including taxes. All water is filtered and handed out for free, the pineapple juice is divine. The chai and Indian coffee is delicious when served from the tea cart at 4pm and likewise the banana bread and savoury. The Ayurveda treatments are divine too and not expensive. Only things I wasn’t happy about: being pushed to have a starter at the seafood restaurant and the driver suggesting the requisite spice shop trip on the way to the hotel.

My wife and I stayed in a Deluxe Garden Villa with private pool for 9 nights at the end of 4 week trip to India. The villa was great and the pool and garden was completely private which we were pleased with. The hotel provide loungers on the beach but there are no parasols which means there is no way to get any shade so having our own private pool allowed us to sit in the shade whenever we wanted. There are 3 places to eat, the first is the main restaurant which serves a buffet and a la carte. The second is a fish restaurant and the third is a place to get pizzas etc. We ate in the fish restaurant twice and it was very good. We also ate in the Beach Shack twice where we had pizzas and fish and chips - both were very good. We only had a la carte in the main restaurant which was also good. The only thing that prevented me giving the review 5 stars instead of 4 was the breakfast. It was a buffet with predominantly Indian food and what European choices there were, e,g. hash browns or tomatoes were normally cold. Eggs could be ordered separately but getting a soft boiled egg was a challenge they didn’t seem capable of - they were either under cooked or so hard they bounced. There was only ever one type of bread and that was quite sweet.

I recently had an opportunity to visit this facility with my family on 1st of March 2023. It's with a heavy heart that I have to give a negative review on the hotel's staff. We have requested to use the restaurant towards the evening for dining and the staff did not let us in without a proper explanation, they did not even consider there was an infant with us. Their attitude (front desks staff) was extremely rude, they did not even try to accommodate us by seeking any chance, and they didnt even advise us what else we could do in their facility.  We haven't faced such a horrible experience anywhere during our trips across multiple countries. I felt so humiliated in front of my family and left the hotel with feeling exhausted and frustrated.  I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I would advise anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere.  I do not wish to disgrace CGH management with my negative review but I intend to bring your attention over your arrogant employees.

We had spent 3 weeks travelling East to West across Southern India, and chose Marari as our final destination- a final chance to swim in the warm Arabian Sea before flying back to a grey and rainy UK. CGH did not let us down - we had 4 lovely nights here- the beach is beautiful (and clean), there is NO high rise- it is very natural, and the Arabian Sea is warm! Accommodation was excellent (with very good A/C- much needed), the pool is great, and the food as good as anywhere else we ate (and we did visit the much lauded Bangala!) A special reference to Shibu- a wonderful naturalist- a nature walk around the ground visiting 5 different owls (really? yes!) and many other birds (including releasing a barbet from the beak of a crow); a natural butterfly garden, and topped off by a visit to his own home/garden to watch a cornucopia of birds (including Indian pitta) at close hand- what an asset to CGH! The added bonus was that CGH have a "man on the ground" at Cochin airport (which puts many UK airports quite literally in the shade), who helped us with excess baggage and speeded our transit. This trip has seen our first experience of CGH- hopefully it won't be our last.

Good property, don't ever visit for a dinner or lunch, manager will treat very bad. Those who dont stay are NOT ALLOWED TO BEACH. Don't expect good words from Manager as it is policy to keep away guest who comes for dining. Travel 1 hour just to dine(which is only allowed by Manager) in a beach resort seems a vierd experience. So be careful don't take a ride with family exoecting to have a beach experience
