Marari Beach sprawls across 55 acres of lawns, far-flung lotus ponds and whispering coconut groves, all threaded through with stone- flagged pathways. Living: Modelled on the fishermens' dwellings of Mararikulam, your accommodations are a fine balance between traditional form and modern function. Dining: At Marari Beach, you can enjoy the simple traditional dishes of the fisherfolk (along with, of course , a variety of international cuisine favourites) at our verandah- style restaurant. Dinners are candlelit, often with live music. Healing: Marari Beach has a fully equipped ayurvedic centre, so you can get all the benefits of this ancient system of medicine. Put yourself in the hands of our expert masseuses and you'll feel reborn. There are also regular yoga classes on the beach, in the thick of a cool coconut grove. The locale, we're told, does wonders for your inner serenity. Need we say more?

Another place I would love to keep coming back to. Beautiful place and well maintained. The cottages are well appointed; ours opened to a small water pond. The clean Marari beach is just a few minutes walk away, the cottage was clean, cosy and tastefully done (love the open air showers in many hotels in Kerela), the food out of the world, the beach shack was lively, the staff helpful and accommodating. All in all, a lovely experience. The in-house naturalist, Shibu, was a local man and was really interesting. Spotted different types of owls, butterflies and many other winged beauties that can keep you occupied all day long. He shared a lot of his personal photos, paintings and experiences. Lot of interesting activities for my daughter, including feeding the fish, crafts with natural products, etc. He even taught me archery. :) The only con: swimming pool had too much of chlorine.

Hotel's Favourite
A pretty large resort, self contained with tons of activities around, helpful staff and great food. Their pool villas are worth the hype! The resort is built with lots of trees, ponds and gardens and makes for a great walk around. They have lots of birds visiting their property and a little flower garden that attracts butterflies. We had a great time with their naturalist, Shibu Bhaskar, who took us on a bird watching and butterfly watching tour. He could name a flying bird with just a glimpse and identify a butterfly species even from a larva. There are lots of outdoor/indoor games, a restaurant and a beach side shack, and a private access to the beach (the beach itself isn't private, but is considerably quiet and clean, and has life guards employed by the hotel). In addition to all this, it's the little attention to detail that set this place apart. Like placing a French press and ground coffee rather than the cheap alternative - instant coffee pouches. Keeping the room AC on to a pre-set temperature before arrival. Ensuring the room has a pleasant smell on arrival (few five star hotels do this!). Putting up an envelope to self-declare what you've consumed from the mini-bar rather than sending housekeeping staff to keep a check on them. (One of the five star hotels I'd earlier visited had a housekeeping person showing up at my room at 1 pm everyday just to check mini-bar! It was ridiculous! Due to that experience, I appreciate this resort's policy even more) Also, the little things that the staff did that made our stay truly memorable. Small gestures like the chef remembering our choice of food at the live counter on the second day. The reception staff welcoming us warmly on arrival and seeing us off like a family would, on departure.

Visited CGH Earth, Marari resort on a short vacation with family and was pleasantly surprised. The check-in experience was a breeze and Jency was very prompt and professional. She explained everything about the resort to our understanding and also escorted us to our villas. The entire stay was a wonderful experience with the stay at the pool villa, the 30 acres of property to be explored, the swimming pool, private access to the beach, and not to mention the various activities arranged by the resort (bird watching, archery, traditional music, etc.,etc) ..... all in all blew our minds away. Special mention has to be made about the entire staff of Marari resort who takes all the pain and effort to see that their guests are not inconvenienced in any way and go that extra mile to make them happy. Jency & Selma from the front desk, Subash the lifeguard, Shankaranand & Alex from the restaurant, Jonin the archer, and everyone else really deserves an appreciation. The only gripe came from two areas - The booking experience and the restaurant menu. Their central booking at Cochin needs a training or two on dealing with non-resident customers. I had a problem making my reservation using an international card and they were like 'take-it-or-leave-it as you have to use the link to make the full payment in advance, and it only accepts Indian cards. Many other hotels and resorts use pre-payment authorization, which is completed at check-in or check-out. Maybe CGH Marari can consider this option? The other area of concern was the restaurant. Although the service was par excellence, the menu on offer was too scant. There were not too many options to select from; be it the restaurant OR the beach shack. The taste was also not fulfilling; it was just average. Moreover, the portion size was too small for the price, which was exorbitantly high. We don't mind paying for a scrumptious meal if the quality and quantity would have been at par. However, the food served at the beach shack was tasty. To sum up, ignoring the small issues, I would definitely stay at CGH Marari resort again if I were visiting this place. Kudos to the whole team for living up to the expectation and making our trip one of the most memorable ones in recent times.

We stayed there for 3 nights and it was a pleasant stay in-spite of rain. The employees are courteous and make you feel home. The restaurant food and employees were excellent. They were able to accommodate our special requests without any hesitation. Food quality was very good and most of them served hot. We really enjoyed the swimming pool mineral salt water and very well maintained. Yoga class added to the comfort. Excellent cultural program in the evening. Should go there again on next opportunity..

This is the third time we've stayed here; keeps getting better everytime. And as much as the location and the facilities on offer (faultless) have to do with the experience, it is The People that take prominence in shaping your appreciation. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for a truly heartwarming stay. My first experience here, is in the link below; all that's said holds true, and more. https://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g3171875-d1603527-r630922360-Marari_Beach_CGH_Earth-Mararikulam_Alappuzha_District_Kerala.html And, was so surprised to hear for the first time that Jimmy Page and Paul McCartney have been guests here !! In my humble opinion, this is the sort of thing that you should definitely be letting your guests know ! I literally had goosebumps when Arun and Romey mentioned this; thank you so much ! Posting pics of the legends.. Summing up, Thank you; grateful to each member of the CGH family for all that you do.

We have been big fans of CGH Earth for their focus on responsible tourism, and our latest stays have only reinforced our belief in their commitments to the cause. The Marari Beach Resort set across 30 acres of lush greenery is amongst the largest CGH properties, and our stay there was nothing short of exemplary (but then that really is the norm with all CGH properties). All of the cottages at Marari have thatched roofs and they give a very traditional feel to the whole place. Most importantly, despite the massive area, the whole property is very well spaced out with a limited no of rooms. We stayed in a pool villa, which was large, beautiful and super comfortable. The tea and coffee were the originals, and not the typical packed kind that we find across hotels. The bathroom was the typical open air kind that we find across most CGH properties, and a delight in itself. The pool was awesome too, and to top it all off, we had a Purple sunbird coming in to say hi right through the days there. The food at the restaurant was awesome, especially the dinner buffets which were a standout. If you like fish, then the Samudra Sadya is a must-do for lunch. Besides the main restaurant, there is a shack as well where starters, sandwiches and pizza are served. Do try the cooking demo by the in house chefs - they are awesome. Chef Arjun took us through the process for making squid ularthayithu, which was yum. Don't miss the evening tea, archery, fish feeding bird watching and property tour. All of them are must dos while there. And do, do go to the beach in the evenings - Marari beach is amongst the cleanest white sand beaches in India, and exceptionally beautiful. Marari beach is a very close to Alappuzha, and we did take a short trip to the Coir museum, and a private museum named after Ravi Karunakaran, a local coir merchant. Both places were superb, and a must visit when in Marari. Team CGH, we like you guys a lot, and can't wait to try out the next property soon.

This is a stunning hotel. The individual room bungalows are thoughtfully kitted out - massive rooms, with an outdoor shower and terrace for relaxing on. The grounds are huge and very well kept. A wonderful pool and loads of amenities - we particularly liked the free tea and cake trolley before a spot of archery. The cooking was first rate, evening meals accompanied by live traditional music, very friendly and helpful staff. We really enjoyed the nature walks- spotting butterflies, owls, tropical birds and seeing the local fruit and vegetables growing in the hotel's garden. A big shout out to Arun, who provided us with a well informed bird walk, thank you!

Early check-in was not arranged as requested despite charging a bomb for the deluxe cottage pool villa but check-in was delayed and we were told to sit at the restaurant for 2hours for lunch! And even after we reached the villa..the villa was not ready and we had to wait at the villa! They were leaks in the main bathroom which was not fixed! Water bottles were brought after 2hours when requested..the cupboards in pool villa were stuck. The only saving grace was the pool which was well maintained. All the staff at restaurant and reception were courteous. There were no extra activities provided like kite flying at the beach or paddle boating or even evening cruises arranged. Limited vegetarian options were available in buffet.
