This is our first visit to India, and the stay in Villa Binu and his family left the warmest memories. If cleanliness, care and responsiveness are important to you, you will find it here. The rooms had everything you need - a wide bed, air conditioning, a fan, a spacious bathroom. In front of the entrance you can wonderfully relax and dine. Special thanks to Binu's wife, who served us incredibly tasty food. We still remember it. And especially parotte :) The territory of the villa is very beautiful and cozy. Not far from the villa there is a fishing beach, but going a little to the side you will find a lot of space to enjoy the sea and the sun (and even umbrellas and sun bed that you can rent). Incredibly beautiful endless beach. The owners kindly put us umbrellas and chairs by the sea not far from the villa, where we could rest comfortably. A little paradise away from exhaust and noise. Five minutes to the beach through a nice neighborhood.Very nice family who ran the place and did everything to make us happy. A great experience to celebrate Christmas here. Will never forget you and the days we had here <3 Highly recommended.

We have made it to Marari Beach twice. The first time 6 years ago. This time we checked in to Charlys and we couldn't have chosen a better place for our stay. Greeted with big smile upon the whole family when arriving was just amazing! Every day we had breakfast which was excellent, you could choose between real Kerala breakfast or toast, omelette or pancake. The rooms very very tidy and nice and the whole experience staying there with this lovely family is a must! We enjoyed every minute of it and wish we will come back some day. We even got to experience New Years eve with the family and friends which was really cool. Great food and some of the neighbors who were musicians dropped by and surprised us and danced! :) The place is located just a 2 minute walk from the amazing and quiet beach. Wir verbrachten gerade 3 wunderschöne Tage hier. Joe und seine Schwiegertochter Ancy sowie der Neffe Emil waren so richtig nette Gastgeber. Das Homestay liegt weg von der Hauptstrasse und ist nicht ganz einfach zu finden. (Wir hatten ursprünglich ein sehr beliebtes Homestay gebucht, welches jedoch zum Zimmer keine Terrasse hatte, was uns gar nicht gefiel). Charlys Homestay hat 2 grosse, geräumige Zimmer, jeweils mit einem ebenfalls sehr grosszügigen Bad. Alles ist recht neu und sehr sauber für indische Verhältnisse. Auf der Terasse kann man morgens (wer will) Yoga machen oder während der Mittagshitze schön im Schatten verweilen. Und dort wird einem auch das leckere Frühstück und auf Wunsch auch ein feines und sehr typisches südindisches Essen serviert. Einfach sagen, was man gerne möchte und Ancy wird es auf den Tisch zaubern. Die Familie lebt ein paar Häuser weiter und man kann schön mit Ihnen plaudern. Sie merken aber auch, wenn man seine Ruhe haben möchte und ziehen sich dann sofort zurück. Als Alleinreisender würde ich vielleicht ein etwas grösseres Homestay wählen, damit man etwas mehr Anschluss zu anderen Touristen hat. Der Weg zum Beach ist ca.3 Minuten und man befindet sich dann auch nicht gleich dort, wo die grosse Masse ist, was uns fut gefiel. Ausgiebige kilometerlange Spaziergänge nach links oder rechts sind kein Problem. Wir fanden Mararikulam selbst nicht sehr interessant für Touristen und ausser dem Beach ist eigentlich nichts zu sehen oder zu tun. Darum ist es sicherlich schön, wenn man ein freundliches Homestay wie dieses hat, wohin man sich zurückziehen kann. Wir haben uns jedenfalls hier sehr wohl und sicher gefühlt. …
