Excellent property located literally a stone’s throw away from the beach. Basic clean rooms with wifi and AC. Rahul, the host is a gem of a person. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and provided us with whatever was necessary for us. Being vegetarians, eating out was a bit of problem for us. But Rahul and his entire family cooked us delicious vegetarian meals everytime and was more than willing to travel 6-7 kms to get vegetarian food for us from a restaurant. He made us feel a part of his family and welcomed us into his house, which is exactly what we expect from a homestay, the warmth of a home. Rahul can communicate well in English, Malayalam and Tamil. Will definitely recommend you to book your stay with them. If you are planning a trip to Mararikulam stay with them for atleast a couple of nights to experience their warmth and love.…
We had an excellent mini vacation here. We stayed here for 3 nights and Rahul and his family were amazing and took care of everything. The authentic Kerala food that Rahul's mother cooks is the highlight of the trip. Definitely try the fish-fry, puttu and channa curry. Although the property is not beach facing, it is just 100 metres from the beach and have designated beach beds. So it is like a private beach! Rahul arranged refreshments for us in the beach which was very sweet of him. Rahul lent his bike to us so that we could ride to our friend's wedding which is again - hospitality at best! Ah! and if you love cricket, these brothers and friends have a game every evening. Join them for a game or two ! Its absolutely fun! If you are looking for a relaxing few days with amazing Kerala cuisine and wonderful hospitality go for this place.…
I don’t often give 5* to anyone and it’s never because it’s luxurious but because it’s excellent value and a really relaxing place to be. Marari Blue Waves is all that. The family are lovely and Rahoul is very helpful going out of his way to make sure yikes stay is as comfortable as is possible. The breakfasts are good but the dinners are first class - stayed in for dinner on the first night and, because that was so good just had dinner every night on the table outside our room. Moved from Tuna Curry to various Grilled Fresh Fish and Crab Masala ..... all were exceptional. There are restaurants if you turn right along the beach and walk for 20 minutes - we didn’t eat in any of them but they looked ok. There is a small beach-bar next door if you want a change of scenery. The room is large and clean with coffee making facilities and a small fridge and is cleaned daily if you want it cleaned. There are just 3 rooms and we had the upstairs room which is more private with a balcony and little table to eat at. The family have beach beds and umbrellas that can be set up and will carry them down to the beach for you. They are also very happy to organise a massage in town of for a trip out into the Backwaters - the massage was good and we didn’t do the Backwater trip. This is a really nice place to chill by the sea - the sea is ok for swimming in but the breakers can be quite large: but a lovely place. Worth making it to the beach for 08:00 to see the fishermen coming back in and cleaning out their news - dozens of Sea Eagles descend looking for a free fish or two! One piece of advice to Rahoul would be to clean up the rubbish on the beach in front of your home stay - next door do this and it makes it all look and feel much better.…
We stayed at Marari Blue Waves for 16 nights in January. The location was perfect in full view of the beach less than 5 minutes walk from our room. The Solomom family were very welcoming and obliging. Father Emmanuel is a fisherman and provided some of the fish for our meals. Mother, Letitia, cooked our meals and they were all delicious. Eldest son Rahul runs the business, arranged trips for us and helped choose and serve our meals. Middle son, Sharon, helped with serving our meals too and is a taxi driver and collected and returned us to and from the airport and took us out when we needed to go to Alleppi. Youngest son, Saveo, is still at school, but helped serve meals when he was able. It was a really lovely relaxing place to stay and we will return for more soon.
Pros: Excellent hospitality by Rahul and his family. They were very sweet and helped us a lot since we had kid. Very near to the beach and calm. Rooms we clean enough. Food was also good. Cons: should put a sign board to locate it easily.
