I was visiting the DR to study stone sculpture at Castillo Mundo King which is a nearby Museum. The hotel was perfect for me. It was very quiet and felt like it was isolated but it was walking distance to restaurants and the beaches. It is definitely basic, no frills in the room, not even a tv. But that is...

It was a huge difference from the hotel I slept in before. It was very calm, not many people there. The family-run business is very nice and helpful. Very nice pool area. Huge room, a/c...did not miss a thing

I visited last year with some friends and had a wonderful time. The rooms were large, so clean and comfortable and the breakfasts delicious! The pool and pool area was so relaxing and pretty. Beautifully landscaped too. And the location is great for walking into town for shopping and restaurants. The manager was very helpful with any questions and with...

This little hotel is clean, comfortable and has a very safe and friendly vibe. The managers are very lovely as is the whole staff. Breakfast, very delicious, grounds very beautiful, a short walk to the supermarket, town and beach, I would definitely stay there again.

The favorable reviews of this place are TRUE. What seems like a world away from the hectic energy of the center, yet So Close (slight block up hill from Metro Bus), our stay here was just perfect. The owners are so accommodating it's almost unreal. The staff is equally enjoyable. Budget room is quaint and comfortable, providing a ceiling fan,...

First, please note that I'm about two years late on this review. I stayed here with a friend in February 2014. I specifically didn't want a party vibe. This place was perfect. The guest were a nice mix of families, couples and solo travelers. The owner was very nice and is from the Massachusetts area if I remember correctly. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
One of the first hotels in Sosua, Tropix is a wonderful alternative to the all-inclusives. Walking distance to the beaches, downtown and shops, but far enough to feel secluded. We're also small enough that groups and families can book all 10 rooms to have their own private hotel - a real treat for many! ... more   less
