Great gathering point, also reliable place to get oriented if you are an stand-alone tourist. Meridiana Residence is a simple refuge, enough for those who are looking a place to spend couple of nights with basic acommodations. If your main interest is to be close to beaches, hotels, airport or touristic routes and you and if you are more outward-oriented, you'll be sacrificing comfort and quality. But if you're interested in living the experience more than the hotel stay, Meridiana is right for you. Is NOT a comfortable and has a very bad service, but is cheap.
I really wanted this to be a good review, however, I must remain objective for the sake of future visitors. The place has reasonable prices given the location. At approximately US$43.00 per night, the place has a lot to offer. Rooms with A/C, a small kitchen, pots and pans, silverware, TV with cable and free WiFi (whenever you get a signal); but the upkeep of the place is terrible. Rooms are a bit worn down do to the lack of maintenance I pressume, the main elevator doesn't work and the bathrooms are just plain bad. They smell and have gunk build up in the sink. The first time my wife and I stayed there was back in January and we had the same experience with the bathroom and specifically asked to be put in a room without bathroom issues for our Holy Week reservation. It wasn't possible. More of the same problems we had the first time, plus a leaky shower and water filtration on the floor. If it weren't for the attentive staff, this would've been a one star review.…
This hotel/residence does not have a separate listing for its restaurant so I thought it best to review it here until it does. When walking by one day we met a nice couple from Quebec City Canada who were staying at the hotel and raved about the pizza. The restaurant itself is at the front left of the hotel and is outdoors until a large palapa. It is frequented mostly by locals which is also a good sign. Prices were very reasonable with a large sharable pizza (for 2) with cheese, ham, black olives, and mushrooms for 390 pesos including all taxes! With ice cold beer at 100 pesos what more could you ask.
The place is terrible! The rooms are dirty, and the bed and bathrooms in terrible conditions. The shower curtain was covered with black stains and the linens weren't clean either. The pool area is not properly kept, there are no chairs where you want to sit to take a sunbathe or get in the pool. The guard is also always sleeping so no one opens the doors for you to get inside the building. There is no elevator and there are four floors in the building , so if you're carrying heavy baggage or you decide to bring a little market is uncomfortable for you to get upstairs. We've been having troubles with the sinks and toilets, because they won't flush correctly so we've had to call the manager a lot. I wouldn't recommend it for anything in the world.
If anyone gives this place more than one star, they are lying. This place is reasonable, but run down. We had to go threw several rooms before finding something a little better, so we thought! The room we stayed in was infested with roaches, refrigerator wasn't working very well, and the elevator broke down several times. On our departure we had to drag our suit cases down several steps.the only nice thing in the room was the dining table. The owner of that building failed to put money into it. My advise is no, unless you are there for a sex vocation.
This hotel was chosen because it was extremely affordable, and it was in a safe area. We were in a 2 bedroom apartment on the sixth floor. There is a corner store within walking distance of the hotel. Safety was never an issue outside of the hotel. Although the apartment was nice enough and the view was beautiful, the balcony walls are too low for families with small children. I would definitely recommend staying on the lower floors if you have children who can climb. The rooftop hot tub access was prohibited and tub was drained. The wifi was extremely slow in the apartment. Strongest signal was on the lobby floor. 눇The apartment was quaint and comfortable. The view was beautiful and the beach was directly across the street. The pool was never crowded. The bartender Angelina (?) was very pleasant. The cleaning staff was very pleasant especially the the one who who came on 7/21. I can't remember her name but she interacted with My 2 Yr old while cleaning and was extremely thorough. Fran and his staff were very personable and addressed any issues we had immediately. I would choose to stay here in the future.…
Lovely staff, & working AC Good restaurant Residence is rundown, dirty, apartments are ill equipped. Insufficient supplies across the board, ( TP, towels,)smelly, moldy showers, rusted shower, dirty elevator, Multiple leaks in hallways, nonexistant sonorisation. Staff is what saves this establishment. Staff is very sweet. Such a shame because it has its potential. Needs serious TLC. Check before you check in.
Trustfully they gave me a room not payment I had to go and pay by myself. Private and extremely quiet.Clean, wide and sunny apartments. They should promote more room service we did not notice they had it and sometimes we were starving and not decided to go outside
The service is not the greatest. ..they don't service the room everyday. .they never replenish your towels or ammenities. If you want something close to the beach this is the spot but don't expect great accommodation or service.
Because of the impending storm (Hurricane Erica) we decided to stay at a hotel closer to the airport the night before we were to fly back home. My husband found Meridiana Residence on Hotels.com, saw that it had ok reviews and booked online for the following night. When we get to the hotel, the storm had just hit and the place was a mess. The owner had driven some of his employees back home, so the person that was left to greet us had no clue who we were and where to put us. We waited 20 minutes for the owner to appear. (Mind you I think its honorable that he took his employees home in the storm so I had no problems waiting). When he gets there, he cant find our reservation. Ok - possibly due to the storm, his systems couldn't update... alright. Then he says there is only one room available, we were 7 and we rsvp'd two rooms, we needed to fix this. Eventually, he realizes that he had mixed up my name and did have a room available. The first room is on the 4th floor with no elevator and super slippery tile floors. Not fun. Next room was nice, on the first floor. We settle in, and get ready for the night. The rooms were noticeably dirty. I kept finding some other persons long black hair in the shower, the sheets, on the floor next to our bed. (I have short hair) This of course led me to believe the room had not been cleaned with made me immediately uncomfortable. The beds were super uncomfortable, the AC did NOT work well at all. I attempted to sleep on the couch, which was worse and the fan sounded as if it was going to come crashing down. Worst night ever.Thank God for the hurricane, it kept us cool at night. Upside - they had great wifi…
