We were refugees from Hurricane Fiona and the staff made us feel most welcome. Our stay was longer than expected but mostly pleasant. We had reserved the large suite downstairs but had to request a move because (as others have said) there was a musty odor. Also the fan was making some noise.

The room we were moved to was acceptable. The bed was somewhat hard but otherwise ok. The sink had a large drain hole that was uncovered. I like to use the sink with water in it, but that was impossible. The two soap dispensers (there was no shampoo or conditioner) were difficult to operate and dispensed a very small amount with each pump.

As a person with disabilities, I have to be careful where there is a wet surface on the floor. The restaurant is in an outside building and one has to cross over walkways with fairly slippery stones including having to go up an incline at one point. There were puddles all over the place and no apparent effort to clear the water. At a minimum, there should be some kind of non-skid materials placed on the stones and concrete.

A couple of the receptionists were very courteous and knowledgeable. But, as we checked out, the very young lady who tried to help us was clueless about the bill. The bill is in German and the size of many spreadsheets. It appeared that she was requesting a lot more for the stay than should have been. I speak fluent Spanish, but she just didn't understand or could explain the bill. We finally worked through it and resolved an issue than should not have been a problem. I was correct that the total was far less than we were first led to believe.

The Assistant Manager, Lena (sp?) was most gracious throughout our stay and constantly asked if there was anything we needed. She is quite an asset.

Great location. On a wonderful stretch of beach and away from traffic noise. Nice big beds. The shower was disappointing. It was like a phone booth with shower curtains that stick to you. I wouldn't eat in the hotel restaurant, you will find so many better restaurants on this stretch of beach

The stay at Villa Taina was wonderful for us as a family, this time even with our dog. All the staff at the hotel are always accommodating and we love the food at the Serenade Restaurant. You are so close to the sea, you can take wonderful walks on the beach, we always like Cabarete and we will be happy to come back next time!

My husband and I had an amazing experience at Hotel Villa Taina. The hotel staff was amazing. Every morning Miguel made sure to check and see if we needed anything and helped us book several excursions so we could experience different things. The breakfast buffet was full of different choices that were all delicious, and the wait(Anselma and Dariana) staff was phenomenal. We ate dinner several times here as well, and each time Junior made sure that we had everything we needed for dinner as well. I would recommend staying here!

Be aware of them advertising free on site Parking there are 3 spots! and are where you check in... so basically forget about it. They say sorry and then tell you to go and park in a Pay parking lot down the street which looks sketchy for overnight parking.

Best all you can eat barbecue on Friday night starting at 7pm. The menu had chicken, pork. Sausage, baked potato, salad garlic bread, potato salad, coleslaw, and desert for 760 peso.

The meat is cooked over coals on a open grill, great flavours

I would highly recommend not eating dinner, wait for the feast, be there early to eat at the first call.

The key lime pie is amazing, but not included, we got this on another visit

Was often at many hotels and places on the north coast.Unfortunately, as a solo traveler you always seem to get the least attractive rooms....The room was anyway clean, had a safe and the size quite ok, But from the price/performance it was just too little in my opinion. Had to drag my luggage to the room on arrival, after 17 hours of arrival! The staff was friendly but not emphatic, the breakfast buffet was very good. From fruit to eggs, tortilla to sweet, everything was available. And nice was to have breakfast right on the beach with sea views.
I was very annoyed about the following: You had to leave the room at 13:00 on the day of departure, but my transfer didn't leave until 17:30. There was no more possibility to shower, or store his luggage safely!! On request I was told I could use the shower on the beach and move to the guest toilet, a nogo!!! I haven't seen it in any other hotel.

I went with a group of friends and my two boys (16 and 19). We had a blast. The staff is always very warm and helpful, they have an excellent attitude towards making you feel welcome & safe. The hotel is nice and clean and the location perfect for long walks on the beach and kite surfing. We loved it. Nice variety in different dinner events at a decent price. We will be back, no doubt !

The place is lovely!
Just the perfect spot between relax and lively. The room are super clean, comfortable bedding, very nice staff.
Electricity and hot water were always running very well.
The best location in the bay, very quiet in the morning and mostly at night too. The bar and restaurant on site are good and don’t make too much noise.
During the day, as the winds come around 1 o’clock, it is enough busy to enjoy company all around for the kite.
The Kite school on site makes a nice atmosphere with the regulars and newbies.

Great ocean view room! We loved the large balcony and chaise lounges. The beds were firmer than we like. beautiful beach with chaise lounges and lots of palm trees if you want shade. The pool is small but we knew that and we don't use the pool anyways. We got breakfast a couple times and it was good. We didn't eat at the restaurant, so many other food places nearby. It was fun watching the kitesurfers. The breaze felt good and it never felt "too windy".

Hi, Is this an all inclusive hotel or not? is not clear.
Answer from Donna R

I did not have an all inclusive plan. I do not know if that is an option, but I would not recommend it. There are many good restaurants on the beach very close to the hotel. I enjoyed breakfast a couple of mornings and dinner one night at the hotel, but also recommend nearby restaurants.

Rooms are very safe, but there are safes in the rooms. You have a tab that you pay at the end of your stay at the restaurant. Many restaurants take credit cards, always good to have cash just in case. They take great measures to make sure you're safe and comfortable and the area is extremely safe.
Answer from Tracy

Hola! It costs about $35 and you can actually grab a taxi at the airport fairly easily. The authorized taxis always have an ID card and a topper on their van. Just verify the price before you get in. Otherwise you can email the hotel and they will arrange a taxi for you. I can't post the email address here, but it is info @ hotel name and the website is easy to find by searching the name.
