We stayed in The House Hostel for 2 nights during a recent winter trip to Sokcho. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Yoo, the general manager, who very kindly offered us lots of advice on buses, hikes and eating options from within walking distant of the hostel. He was such a gentleman and a wonderful host. The hostel itself is...

We stayed in the House Hostel during the Solar New Year's weekend. We were immediately greeted by the owner, Mr. Yoo who was warm and welcoming. He gave us plenty of information regarding the city, such as restaurants in the area, hikes and buses, prices and schedules. I had never before had an owner given me such thorough and helpful...

The hostel is just a 3 minutes walk from the intercity bus terminal and is located right in the middle of many attractions, you can just walk to anywhere and they are all close distance. I went during early November and it was cold. I really love the heated flooring. The room was also spacious and clean. Water dispenser is available at every floor and locker is available for us as we checked out before hiking Mount Seorak. The Manager in charge also briefed us on the foods for us to try out when we...

We stayed here for one night. The hostel was a short walk away from the busterminal and very easy to find. We arrived a couple hours before check-in, but were allowed to put our stuff in their lockers. The hosts were lovely and very helpful with whatever questions we had, and recommended us a lovely route for our hike to...

We took the bus from Dong Seoul bus terminal to Sokcho Intercity Bus Terminal at KRW 17300 per head. House Hostel is near to the Sokcho Intercity Bus Terminal and not Sokcho Express Bus Terminal. We've been travelling for 12 months now, and the House Hostel could be the best hostel we have stayed at during this time. Clean to a level of immaculate throughout, with a generously helpful and friendly family owning and running the establishment and a gorgeously decorated lounge area that provides a lovely ambience where you can mix with other traveller's....

Definitely a good choice if you stay in Sokcho. Even though the room was quite small (like everywhere in Korea), it was clean and the house itself is really cute and provides nice public rooms to chill in the evenings. Yoo, the owner, is such a lovely person, he gives so great recommandations concerning restaurants and trips to the national...
