Hotel is well located in between airport and old Bagan. Taxi from airport approx. 15 mins. The hotel has a new side to it with newer rooms and older rooms. We got room from older side which was basic, no-frills but comfortable. The bathroom shower was not separated from the rest of the bathroom so after taking shower the bathroom...

Delicious breakfast, everyone has to find what he likes. The staff is very friendly. The grand deluxe rooms are nice, you should ask a room with pool view otherwise your view is a high fence. We got immediately another room with pool view when we asked for it. Directly at Hotel Umbra are 3 ATMs and further on the street...

Located a couple of minutes from old bagan, the hotel is in a good location to start exploring the area. They offer bicycles or e-bikes (recommended) however the rental place across the street is cheaper. The hotel grounds are nice and the staff are helpful. Two pools and a spa - much needed after spending the day exploring temples. Provides...

Bagan is pretty well developed for Western tourists. This hotel had food, service and rooms that are up to Western travel standards. Most Westerners would find this good or better. The staff is friendly and has a decent level of English.

The staffs are very helpful and caring. They will constantly double check with the bus driver for our trip from bagan to yangon, even this is not their responsibility. Location is perfect because it is very near to old bagan, where all the stupas n pagodas can be found. The place is very quiet and peaceful. Staffs are very polite....

When you have spent hours in a bus, walked up and down a zillion stairs, taken hundreds of photos of pagodas, temples, monasteries and stupas by the thousands, a wonderful swimming pool (actually two) set in beautiful gardens is indeed an energy booster. Good outdoor dining, strong drinks and peaceful surroundings provide an opportunity to have a much needed respite...

The hotel landscape is quite nice in a good location but the price is very high for such a low service standard. Although we were given a specific price when we booked the hotel they actually charged us a higher price which we ended up paying. It is obvious that the Hotel mangement is more focused on making huge money...

We stayed for three nights between Christmas and New Year, in order to see the sights of Bagan. We had a deluxe room on an upper floor. This was spacious, but again we found the bathroom was a wet room, and there was no shower screen or curtain. That being said, we didn't experience the hot water issues reported by...

Stayed at the Bagan Umbra one night after a trip - it was a strange mix of experiences. Facilities around the hotel were good, poolside dining was a great option, happy hour cocktails and prices were best I had in Bagan. The part that didn't fit with the above experiences was the (included) breakfast. I don't know if it wasn't...
