good food.
prepared next day breakfast early on request.
central heater with heating blankets.
if u are not staying in gulmarg for atleast one night in your kashmir trip its a miss.
one can not enjoy gandola and gulmarg fully if they start journey from srinagar at 8 am and reach gulmarg by 10 am.
so plan gulmarg accordingly. there are other places and attractions also.
dont book your hotel which is away of gandola or in tangmarg or near gulmarg entry.( tip)
The rooms are tiny and the bathrooms are unbearably dingy. The central heating does not work in the rooms (even if you are told it works, do not be fooled) and the electric blanket given in lieu of it has two settings: inefficient or burning hot! Plumbing in the bathrooms is circa 80s (showers don’t work, taps are hard to control the water temperature, and the pipe from the basin is not even connected to the drain so if your washed water will collect in the bathing area).
The mattresses are hard and there are no covers on blankets (I can’t even imagine what filth is on it).
The whole feel it gives is of a shady motel rather than a hotel costing upwards of 5k a night.
The location is also 20 mins away from the slopes (be prepared to shell out around 400 bucks for every trip to the slopes one way) so definitely avoid if you’re here to ski.
The food is homely, but nothing to write home about. They do have wifi but it is quite slow. Something is better than nothing in this case, however.
Going for a cheaper hotel in a better area would be better if you’re on a very tight budget. Would personally recommend spending a little more and staying at a better hotel.
The hotel is perfectly located - walk from the Gondola, bunny slope, and other hotels. The rooms are comfortable, cosy and clean. The bed is super comfy with all sorts of things to keep you very warm. There is 24hr hot running water in the bathrooms. Most rooms are brightly lit.
But the best best part of this hotel is the staff - I would specially like to mention Mr. Asifji for being very understanding and caring and treats guests like family. The boys in the kitchen and housekeeping take care of all the little details that make one's stay memorable. They keep alive the Kashmiri tradition of 'Mehaman Nawaazi' alive!
What's left to say!
The rooms are comfortable,
All your small wishes are met with a smiling face.
The food is a special mention!
The hotel is a great deal for anyone looking for affordable luxury.
Most people complaining here probably don't know the strains hotels go through when the temp outside is -10c and the town infrastructure itself not the best.
But for people who can pay attention to the efforts of the staff to make your stay comfortable,
This place is special. A perfect lodge with the gobsmacking mount affarwat as it's backdrop.
Make no mistake this place is awesome.
Avani and Kapil
Rooms are terrible and cramped.
They have those old bulbous type TV sets. Who uses them nowadays??
That itself takes up most of the space !!!
Bathrooms have erratic hot water supply in the morning hours. Bathrooms/Toilets are so dirty and bad in cleanliness and arrangement that you don't feel like using them.
It doesn't have a working WiFi connection as the management seems to be saving up on the data cost. At least I felt that. Food was average.
Just feel that the stairs height is more than normal, which makes it unfriendly for senior citizens. And the management doesn't allot rooms taking the ages of travellers into account.
Bathrooms/Toilets renovation is urgently required. Rooms renovation will go a long way in getting good reviews.
no food and beverages available after 10 pm, nobody bothered to tell abt it,no tea etc. available before & 7 am
rooms are not clean, hot water not available properly
we booked through Tahirbhai Manager of Mount View Resort at Pahalgam
the owners of both resorts are same.
Tahirbhai was extremely helpful.
The location of Gulmarg Resort is good , it is walking distance from Gondola rides. The Resort is small neat and clean and is under renovations.
Rafiqbhai Manager of Gulmarg Resort was very helpful. He arranged a guide for Gondola rides, which is a Must if you visit Gulmarg.
The food was preety good and the staff were very attentive and cooperative.
"Ensure you get a room in the main building. There is a make shift building where usually they give rooms to people who book packages - bad!"Read full review
