Situated in the hills around Ngorongoro, this nice lodge allows a full immersion in the nature. We loved our tent, the kindness of the staff, the good cuisine, the fireplace, the voices of hienas during the nights. Cold temperatures in the night, warm clothes suggested. Only bemol: the pathway from the main route is quite long ans not easy, but...

My husband and I along with our mothers stayed here in January 2016. For starters it is not easy to get to. It is about a 20 minute drive from the main road on dirt/ mud roads that go up and down steep hills and are almost certainly impossible to get through when it rains a lot. The lodge itself...

We stayed at the Crater Forest last week and it was our favourite lodge, the staff was very friendly and helpful and we loved the forested hills of Oldeani mountain view and the sunset is amazing...!! In the morning we woke with the birds, we had to leave for Serengeti but next time we make sure we stay longer at...

Pros: Great tents Clay pot fireplace in rooms Great forest views from tents Good food Near a coffee plantation for coffee lovers Outdoor fireplace Very peaceful Located outside the crater entrance but rough roads to get to the entrance and to the crater there on. You see many families living near the odge so you come across adorable little children...

Friendly staff, Facilities high standard. Good honest food, well presented, tasty. Tents comfortable. But the road! I do not think the camp can do anything about it. If road better it would rate very high.

We stayed one night, and we loved it. Don't get deterred by 1/2 hr drive on horribly bumpy road, it is worth it. The drive among the hills and plantations is scenic, views fantastic and the camp, although rustic, has a special "feel" and lots of character. When we arrived and were shown to our tent, we looked down the...

According to their info sheet, the location is 10km away from Ngorongoro. This is not from the crater itself, but actually from the entrance to the Ngorongoro wildlife protection area. A little bit misleading if you ask me. The sign at the exit from the tarmac road says the lodge is only 4km away, which may be correct, but the...

It was difficult to get there, the long and bumpy road to this desert place was very hard to drive caused by heavy rainfalls. (other people had to go by foot). But it was worth the trip. In the middle of a beautiful forest some nice large tents are set up with great views above the trees. Water in the...

It was a long drive to the lodge after a full day in the crater, but well worth it. Small enough to be relaxing, but large enough to have presence. The tents were amazing. You're in the middle of the forest and in the midst of nature. We caught a glimpse of a herd of elephants crossing along the hillside....
