We loved the lobby decor, the views, and the location of this hotel. It was clean and the beds were okay. The hot water was limited and the showers had very little pressure. Typical of the area. The food wasn't good, though. Bland and stale.

The location is probably the best on the crater rim. The views are spectacular from all areas of the hotel. The patio offers outdoor views and a great area to sit. Even though we were there for the views the one downfall here is the staff. We found the reception desk staff to be friendly, but the rest of the...

Great location, great food, super hotel. Service was great. Mattresses were harder than on any other place during our safari. We would like to go back and stay more nights at the hotel, but would call to ask for the rooms with softer beds.

Once you bounce down the long dirt track to the hotel, you are rewarded by an amazing panorama of the crater below with it's lake and animals. The wide lobby leads out to a terrace complete with telescope where the view keeps changing with the light. There was also a large open fireplace which was just right when it got...

Unbeatable location overlooking the Ngorongoro crater. The views are magnifique and the sunrises and sunsets are captivating. The rooms are comfortable. However, the views take the cake. The food choice and quality a liitle disappointing.

The room is cosy and equipped, and also have a view to the crater. the shower is clean and has hot water (though you're still in Tanzania... have to wait for couple of minutes for it to come..) Dinner is...

The main reason to stay here is for the views. With a long balcony overlooking the crater, it is truly amazing, photos wont do it justice. I was fortunate to have spent my birthday there with my friend and her children and one of the highlights was having lunch outside overlooking the crater. We had a interlocking family room, which...

It was nice to be greeted with hot towels and fresh juice as we arrived after a long day. The rooms were very comfortable and the view was fabulous. I was happy to relax here. Beware of the showers. If a person flushes a toilet, get ready for a blast of steaming hot or freezing cold water. You can never...

We stayed at this lodge while on our June trip 2012. The view and closeness to the entry point to the Crater made me give it 5 stars. The food was simple but plenty and the staff although busy quite friendly and helpful. Becasue of the location this camp is perfect. The early morning mist and rainforest make for a...
