The lodge itself is unimaginable. Aesthetics are from an era gone bye; old fashioned cast iron fireplaces, crystal glasses, silver cutlery, fantastic personalised service. Excellent food served in a very imaginative manner. Huge rooms with a verandah overlooking the ever changing crater vistas, big showers,...More

We were there in February so unfortunately I do not know what the weather will be like in August. February was fairly hot, but that it is because it is Africa's summer then. What I can tell you is that the floor of the crater is usually hotter than the rim. And the lodge is beautiful. We did go to Botswana and Zimbabwe in August and it was still hot then but the nights were cooler. Sorry I could not be of more help, but enjoy your trip!
