The good. The tent was large, comfortable and spacious. The evening meal was good with exceptions. Dennis, the staff person, most often seen in the afternoon and evenings was a joy. He talked and engaged us. His story's of his Masai childhood made the evenings interesting. He was the stand out. The two security masai, Joseph and his partner, I...

Dear Steve Thank you for your review and for being so honest. I have looked into the issues you have raised and have dealt with it accordingly. There is no need to go into what information was passed on to us and what wasn't and so at this point can only apologise that what you requested was not offered. We...

We stayed at Lemala for a bit more rustic experience than the Crater. Lemala was not quite as rustic as we had imagined, though. Even the bucket showers were a little luxurious in their own way. Supposedly the Crater Lodge can get fogged in so the "million dollar" views there can be a little hazy....It was crystal clear at Lemala...

thank you for your wonderful review of Lemala Ngorongoro. I am so sorry about the hot water bottle leaking and I can confirm it has been replaced but my apologies for that. I know that we do encourage communal dining so that travellers can exchange stories and meet other fellow travellers but we are open to also offering a private...

We came to Lemala after our experiences in Bush Camps, so the spacious tents, running hot water, lights and heaters were much appreciated. Unfortunately on our two night stay there were only two other guests, but we greatly appreciated the excellent meals we were given. The picnics provided were every bit as good. Little niggles like the broken loo on...

thank you for your review and we have looked into the issues that you have raised to ensure that we resolve the lighting that appeared to be a little loose in some areas. We have also implemented some more training programs for the team and hope that this will alleviate experiencing problems on arrival. I hope the rest of your...

This camp was not only a great surprise greatly situated but the caliber of the food was probably the biggest surprise of all. Excellent avocado dip, excellent banana soup, excellent main course & breaky the next morning!

We stayed at this Tented camp on the crater rim, however you don’t have a view of the crater. The camp is well camouflaged and you are met with friendly staff with cold towels to refresh you. The lunch was a bit disappointing however. The tents we had were very spacey. They have the bucket shower so one has to...

Moist towels when you arrive after a dusty day in jeep was only the start to our stay here. The food was great , location was very close to the crater, and the staff were wonderful. Hot water bottles in your bed and a tent heater took the edge off of a rather cool night. Bush TV with snacks, drinks,...

The tents at Lemala Ngorongoro were very spacious and very well furnished. The only thing I would like to see changed with the tents is that the window coverings of the tents were on the outside of the tents. We could not open any of them to look outside other the the entrance of the tent. We noticed that a...

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I will let our operations team know about your suggestion for the tent coverings but in Ngorongoro and because of the cold our experience has led us to follow that guest rarely open up as they want to keep the warmth inside. We chose Lemala because of the its' advantage of being very close to the crater entrance (therefore you can either enter early, or leave late), but also because of the cost. Many of the other crater camps were extremely expensive and we had decided to save our nicest place for last! However, we had just come from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro,...

Thank you for your lovely reviews and am sorry you didn't enjoy yourself with us. Being a semi permanent camp and therefore not being able to have piped water, our showers are manually operated where our staff deliver water to your tents (hot water) and fill up the showers for you and the buckets hold 20 litres which generally is...

We recently stayed at Lemala Ngorongoro. The tented camp is located at the entrance to Ngorongoro National Park. Because of its close proximity to the park, we arrived early and ahead of many other travelers entering the park. The animals are protected, do not migrate, and remain in the park. The viewing was exceptional. Our camp had every comfort. The...
