A nice place to taste a local culture. We visited with friends after Kilimanjaro. It is a good place for barberque. They have different types of food. I really like this place,a very nice place but they are not selling alcoholic drinks.

The place is very nice, but the fact that they don't serve beer is baffling. Since when do Lutherans not drink?! There are two restaurants, one focusing on barbecuing, both are ok, but the full restaurant is slow and got our orders wrong more than once. Overall it is a very nice place to stay.

Spent my second week at Uhuru last month. There are more fancy and even comfortable properties nearby. But the Uhuru is distinct in that it has various levels of options for lodging (annex across the street, nice rooms with and without a.c.); suites, rooms that can handle three or four folks, an included breakfast with made to order options; helpful...

Clean, quiet comfortable rooms. Hot water in all rooms and a/c in most. Wi-fi is affordable and fast. The breakfast buffet is awesome, including made-to-order omelets. The best features are the people and the awesome view of the mountain.

Rooms are reasonably priced but fairly basic. Good secure location about 2 miles outside Moshi. Fairly quiet and relaxing. Con - Wi-Fi is not free and I found the food to be okay. BBQ (onsite restaurant) had good food options reasonably priced but overall food was average.

They serve good BBQ at the garden restaurant which focuses on outdoor dining and there is ample space for kids to play plus a very good view of Kilimanjaro. Good thing it was a clear day. Friendly and fast staff

I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Uhuru restaurant. Like most restaurants in Moshi it is geared to outdoor dining. We ate at a table on a large covered porch overlooking a large parklike setting. Mostly local Tanzanians were dining there at this time There is a nice playground, another common Moshi restaurant feature. Several children were playing while the...

I stayed at the Lutheran Uhuru Hotel in Moshi for two nights when on a business trip to Tanzania from India. The hotel is located conveniently & the rooms are clean, spacious & comfortable. The breakfast was quite sumptuous & the meals in the garden restaurant were delicious. And the best part is the breathtaking view of the Mount Kilimanjaro...
