#26 of 118 Speciality lodging in Moshi
Kilemakyaro Mountain Lodge is situated at the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. At an altitude of 1134m above sea level, it is the perfect base for mountain trekkers and safari makers. Kilemakyaro, now Kilimanjaro, is derived from a chagga word meaning "impossible Journey". The lodge is an ideal sanctuary for mountain trekkers and safari makers to Serengeti, Lake manyara, Tarangire, Ngorongoro as well as lake Natron and Oldonyo lengai. Whether you stay with us in between safari or mountain climbing our team of friendly staff will be there to welcome you to your private haven. Surrounded by a coffee plantation (arabica), banana plants and beautiful tropical garden with a variety of palm trees the ambiance is an absolute art of nature. The lodge prides itself of its organic garden where fresh fruits and vegetables are grown and used in our authentic and international cuisine. At Kilemakyaro Mt. Lodge "your journey is now possible." Due to its strategic location like none other in Tanzania, the gates of Kilemakyaro Mountain Lodge open to a spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Excellent place to be. Very quiet for study, rest and working. The early morning sight of the Great Mt Kilimanjaro. My breakfast was great every single morning with Glory, Calvin and Winny serving it special. Mr Mramba and Octavian always ready to receive us after a busy day at work. Asanteni sana.

We stayed at Kilemakyaro Mt. Lodge as part of a tour with Explore. The lodge itself is fine but the amenities are really tired. The lawn furniture is falling apart, arms off chairs, old ripped lounge cushions and not nearly enough loungers for the number of people. It seems the lodge offers some sort of offering to local people as in the late afternoon there were a number of people at the pool that were not staying at the lodge. The food is sub par. Our fried chicken dinner the first night was so over cooked it was inedible. Breakfast which are included in the price are scanty. You had to ask for jam and butter. When we tried to order lunch, they had to find the chef and then we were offered a very limited choice. Our room was clean and very comfortable and the staff very helpful and courteous.

I stayed 10 days at this cozy, quaint, and secure African Mountainside Lodge while my wife climbed to the roof of Africa. This was the real McCoy, and I felt it was home away from home. You can experience a planation African lifestyle here like no where else possible. The rooms and showers were spacious and comfy. The organic food grown on the compound was good, the staff was very friendly, and the pool was quite adequate and refreshing. I went on excursions daily to visit Moshi town, to hike Arusha Nation Park, to hike to the Waterfalls and Coffee Plantation (where I roasted and drank my own coffee), to hike to the first huts on Mt. Kilimanjaro, and to swim in the desert Hot Springs (ask for Raymond as a taxi car and driver to everything). Best of all, it was very reasonable cost-wise, with GORGEOUS morning views of the Mountain. I loved it, and will miss it.

This hotel was super nice for the price. Would reccomend. Next to coffee plantation, awesome early AM views of Kilimanjaro. Great hike as well as a hotel! 1 hour 15 from Kilimanjaro airport. Airline had lost a bag on the way, Brenda was extremely helpful and we got it in time for our hike! Enjoy
