K's Lodge was nice enough. Not quite as nice as the photos suggest but comfortable. Some of the facilities could be improved like better mattresses and bathrooms that didn't flood. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the food was nice and the beers were cheap. Close to town.

We were told we were staying at 'Keys Hotel' ... This is K's Lodge ... Same company? but this place is up a dirt track road and worse than I'd expect from a hostel. The room was COVERED and I mean covered in mosquitoes, we had to ask to have our mosquito nets changed as they were filthy. It sounded like it was raining in our room but no it was just the volume of mosquitoes running around. We couldn't even shower at night as the bathroom was so bad. We also had no towels in our room, we had to asked twice for them. Yes hot water but that was the only plus (maybe the food too?). The room only had 3 very low single beds, with the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on, I could feel ever single board on my back. My partner had to stay in my bed as his bed was covered in mosquitoes, with the net down! My net had holes in it. The room/nets were never speayed. We were offered another room after complaining but no three beds available. As we stayed on New year's Eve, there was a party going on all night ( we were leaving at 430 am for the airport) fair enough, but people were slamming doors all night and even had someone knocking and trying our door handle!! Our son was terrified. Our pick up was late for the airport, we asked for a taxi to be called and she refused and said it would take to long?! Then she said 'he will take you' a random man just standing at reception. We said to her he can't be a taxi driver as you never called one? And she said 'what, are you scared?' 'are you scared or something?'. Just awful! Luckily our transfer arrived. All in all DO NOT book to stay here, not worth your money. Horrendous!!

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We convey our sincere apology for the inconvenience faced during your recent stay at our Lodge. We are wondering why have you ended up in Lodge when you have booked in Hotel. Even though both the places are under same company, Hotel is our Premium Property and Lodge is our Economical Property which has only the basic facility which suits much of Adventures. Since it was a New Year Eve, all our other clients were having party which is quite common in all hotels. However, we convey our regret in this regard. We have noted all your points and we will work on it. We will make sure these points are fixed as quick as possible. We wish to welcome you or your guest again to experience the difference. Regards Guest Relations

The service was very good and I was cool and comfortable the entire stay. I enjoyed the pool and smiling faces of the staff. The food was good as well. It is an older hotel so it is not super plush but that's ok in my opinion.

To begin with K’s Lodge is locating about 1/4 mile off a main road on a hilly and un-paved road that is full of potholes and craters and almost impossible after a frequent rain. Upon leaving on a safari one day; there was a large pick-up that was leaning off the side of the road that caved in from the road. We ordered pizza at the hotel restaurant that happens to order it from a local pizza shop but were told that the restaurant advised them they couldn’t deliver because it began to rain. We then ordered off the hotel’s menu. There were only two other tables that were occupied and they had already received there food. It took 1hr and 20 minutes to receive our food which was a hamburger and French fries and fish fingers. After 2 inquiries as to where our meals were no explanation or apologies were received. The meals were tasty and a good value. Our room was poorly illuminated and bathroom even worse with no fridge and practically zero amenities. We stayed at this lodge one night and then went on a two day overnight safari and then returned to K’s for a second night. We had a 6:00am pickup for our Safari and the tour guide spoke to the receptionist the night before to arrange for a breakfast box to go instead of buffet which we had paid for as an extra. When we came down to the lobby about 5:40am; no one was in site except our pickup driver. An hotel employee quickly prepared a few items for a mini buffet but no box breakfast. The first item was shredded wheat and when I poured milk on it, the milk tasted like it was half water and I don’t mean skim milk. We quickly left for our safari with little to eat. Their was total confusion at the receptionist desk when we checked out after the our second night checkout which was being paid for by the safari company as per part of our Safari package and this caused a half hour delay for us leaving for Arusha airport. I definitely would not recommend K’s Lodge!

Hotel in the environment is basic but clean. The rooms are comfortable and the shower / WC all acceptable level. Hot water no issue either. the food served is of a high quality but the biggest assett is the staff there. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and nice. From Teresa the owner, to Richard at the Bar plus Monica and Witness to the team at reception they couldnt do enough for you. Ideal locatoon for basing yourself for a trek up Kilmanjaro
