Very small rooms, terrible bathrooms with awful smell. Food is average. The only nice thing is the balcony, where you can relax with wine or beer. The staff is extremely helpful. But once again, do no recommend the rooms. Very hot, no ac, windows face another building.

The staff is extremely accommodating and they made my stay extra pleasurable. Stayed here to start my Kilimanjaro trek and it was very good. Hotel is a short drive from food and about an hour from the airport. Room was basic but big and comfortable. Great balcony for breakfast and relaxing. Can't beat what you get for the price.

We booked through Booking.com weeks in advance for the Kili marathon and then had our booking bounced at less than 24 hours notice - obviously in favour of walk in guests who were better paying as no commissions needed to be paid. Although an effort was made to find alternative accomodation this whole prcess caused big stess at a time when accommodation was at a premium in Moshi. Do not assume that because you had a booking this will be honoured - even if you have booked throuhg booking.com!

Booked the Secret Garden via Booking.com 2 months in advance based on a recommendation. The day before we arrived we received an email saying they were overbooked and to contact them for alternative arrangements, however the number given did not work. We were in Moshi for the Kilimanjaro marathon so the whole town was booked out. After a stressful day We managed to contact the owner who agreed to meet us at the property. He then took us to the Comfy stay which was further out of town which was worrying as we needed to be in town very early the next morning. We were happy not to be staying at the secret garden as what we had seen of it it looked a dark and dingy and the staff unwelcoming. There were other people at the Comfy stay who had also been moved from the secret garden and I see it has happened before so it looks like a cynical overbooking policy

Great view over Kilimanjaro and very good service. Beautiful garden in the back as well. It’s also possible to wash your clothes for a good price and the food is amazing! Definitely coming back to this place!
