I can highly recommend Didimiza. With kind, helpful people, only a few rooms and owned and run by Tanzanians, everybody fully understands the meaning of customer orientedness with a personal touch. I enjoyed the cooking (they asked me what I preferred, which is fish and seafood, it was delicious!). And the rooms are basic, yet clean, nice and fumigated every...

Stayed at Didimiza for 4 nights, and couldn't be happier. The staff was going out of their way to accommodate me (Mohamed even carried me on his back when I cut my foot in a razor clam on the beach), the rooms were large and with good mosquito protection. There wasn't much choice for food (you only got what they...

"Food, glorious food!" is just one of the great reasons to stay at Didimiza. Varied, local and loads of it, - really super value and service with a five-star smile. This place is owned by a local family, and their biggest strength is probably the very welcome personal touch which is missing from most larger businesses. All the staff are...

Overall Very local atmosphere and you'll be well taken care of. Our stay was 3 days, 2 nights only, but we enjoyed it very much! When we arrived, Ahmad (the owner) was already waiting for us at the airport, but the car had a flat tire. It was fixed very quickly and we didn't have to wait much. It takes...

We stayed for 4 days at the Didimiza Guest House and had a great time! The cabins are lovely, we loved the food, and the excursions (we did snorkelling and swimming with whalesharks) are perfectly organized. But what we liked most was the staff: very friendly people who did really everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The...

The nearby beach is unspoilt and so beautiful. Furhtermore we made 2 excursions (whale sharks, Chole Island) with them, which we also recommend....

I stayed at the Didimiza Guest house for 2 nights with a friend and we loved it. The transport from the Mafia Island Airport has been arranged for us and when we arrived at the guest house wellcome drinks were already waiting for us at the porch of our bungalow. We were impressed by the surrounding area. The guest house...

I spent 5 nights there at the end of June and my stay was just great! I was looking for a quiet and typical place to stay, out of the beaten path. Mafia does’t have much activites to offer but just the fact that you can really get in touch with the locals means the plane trip. Didimiza guesthouse is...

We stayed for 4 nights at Didimiza Guest House in July 2012. The welcome was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the food is good. The location is right on the beach and we sat and watched the fireflies and bats at dusk. The Guest House arranged trips for us to snorkel, to...

We arrived in paradise after a week of hard travelling with three families with children aged from 10 to 22! We all rated Didimiza our favourite place to stay during our three week adventure. We got to Mafia Island by boat from Nyamisati - definitely an adventure (feel free to email me on kate.james6@virginmedia.com if you want some tips about...
