Park house lodge and backpackers is rated 4 star (according to whom I do not know). Whoever rated this dump is either blind or stupid. It is also very deceiving on their website, showing pretty pictures of an empty space with a garden table and chairs where you can supposedly pitch your tent. It states they can accomodate 4 to...

Passing through mossel bay we stopped at park house lodge. What a disappointment! Firstly we were told it was walking distance to the beach which we soon found out it wasn't! Secondly our towels that we were given were dirty, the bathrooms smelt of smoke and there was dirt on the floors of our room. Lastly before leaving after one...

kudos to the wonderful garden, nice location and strong wifi. however, towels and sheets are obviously worn out. i had to use my beach towel as a blanket instead because bedsheets are tramslucent due to wear n tear which seemed old n dirty. consider a ventilation system in the rooms as it seems quite stuffy.

I got a double room with a bathroom shared with one other room for 220 rand. With private bath was 260. Great historic looking house and grounds next to a park. Easy walk to the harbor to eat at Kaai 4. Good TV room and self serve beers and sodas. Large braai area for groups.

I stayed in a 6 bedroom dorm it was basic but we got what we paid for. The staff were really helpful and the manager was really cool. We had a supernatural experience though where our beds were moved. The hostel is 150 years old and is really cool.

Beautiful place. The manager is super nice and welcoming. Good rooms. Quiet place. Only 2 minor problems were little ants on bed which was a minor deal and the room was hot at night even with opened window. Would stay again and recommend to other people especially with the price you pay for a good place

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. As a rule I avoid backpackers but we tried it anyway and was pleasantly surprised it was clean, friendly, charming, in a way romantic, quiet. I just have nothing bad to say about this place it has an awesome vibe and loads of space just a must stop trust me you...

Stopped over for a night with a girl friend. The property was beautiful, stylish, safe and charming. We were very comfortable and would have loved to stay another night if we had the time. Mossel Bay is beautiful and we had the most amazing seafood dinner on the waterfront, per the receptionist's recommendation. Will definitely book again next time I'm...

Very nicely located. The check in was a chaos, the rooms full of ants (1000nds of them)..... during the biker even (buffalo rally) is was an ok accomodation, given that it was for sleeping only. Not the best accomodation I have seen.

We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom for two nights. We weren't expecting much based on some pretty scathing Tripadviser reviews and so were pleasantly surprised to discover that the hostel was actually pretty decent. The staff were friendly, the wifi was free and fast, and there were loads of communal areas to relax in. The dorms, kitchen...

“Dorms are cute and comfortable, if you can splurge for a private room, also quite worth it. beautiful views of the garden with hot coffee made for a relaxing morning.”

“My room looked over the street and was quiet and comfortable. The shower is a little tired but perfectly serviceable. Luckily I took my own shower hat!”

“Having read one of the reviews. My wife and I must have been Flashpackers. we found the people helpful. we were not offered breakfast. we had to go out and buy it. The room was clean but the white towels were gray. I think its ideal for the younger person. We are oaps and feel out of place.”
