I stayed here for more than 10 days and really felt at home, thanks to the company and support of the super friendly and nice staff who managed to meet almost all of my "muzungu" requests. The place is quite, not on the main road, even though there's a club nearby putting on load music especially during the weekends. Standard rooms are pretty small but comfortable enough. Good meals too!
After my dad's brother's burial to make it easier to catch a flight in the AM, we went to Homeland with confirmed bookings and fully paid. Shock on us (six siblings) tired and night time, they told us there are no rooms. Apparently someone called to cancel! What annoyed us was the way the person at the reception was not sympathetic or helpful at all! She claimed someone else received the cancellation but could not get her on the phone. We asked for a refund and they claimed they didn't receive it from the booking agent - Jumia!!! I called Jumia, Christine was very helpful and got us another place. Although they said we need to top up! Ok why??? I shouldn't have to add even a cent when I booked and paid! Was it my mistake???? Then the parking at the place is a nightmare to come out of!!! The guard was such a lovely person though. He cared and empathized with us, stayed with us until all was sorted. Meanwhile their receptionist has zero customer service skills! Your front desk should not be a place for anyone to sit just to fill the seat, put or train people who will say sorry for the inconvenience and not walk past us while struggling to get out of there without even a confirmation of whether we got a place to sleep or not!!!…
The place was relaxing, though for other they might not enjoy the late night music( there is a club next to the hotel that played ohangla for a while). We paid Kshs.3,500 for super deluxe it was spacious and with a balcony. The breakfast was great (eggs, bread, sausage, milk and juice).Kisumu experienced a power blackout due to heavy rains but the hotel provided us with a generator in the morning to shower with hot water. The hotel just needs to provide better directions to access the place and a visible sign post because he got lost looking for the place.
Great place, a bit hidden. It's quiet, clean and new. Had lunch during Christmas. Service is good and prompt. Enjoyed the chicken and fish. Would recommend to anyone visiting the town. Room rates are quite affordable.
very hospital-able and comfort is key.The location for the hotel is convenient for all your shopping and restuarant needs its also 24/7 economy area in kisumu city with all lighting everywhere from street lights and other areas .The place is quiet and classy.
