We have once again enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the Imperial. We were warmly welcomed back by every member of staff that we encountered who remembered us from our previous visit. The service and friendliness that we received was excellent and second to none in every aspect of our stay from the hotel management right through to the housekeepers. Our room, number 403, was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was good with a nice powerful shower. We did have an ongoing problem with the air conditioning unit in the room but in fairness to the management, they did their best to try and get it repaired and offered us a change of room. The breakfast buffet was very good with a very varied selection of tasty food and great omelettes prepared to order. The fifth floor lounge was our evening haven with a good menu of very tasty dishes. The samosas, masala chips and special club sandwich were our favourites along with a nice cold Tusker! All of the staff are very efficient and friendly and an absolute credit to the hotel. We are already looking forward to returning next year and seeing how the refurbishment turns out as the work done so far looks impressive. Thank you all very much for a great stay.…

Everything about this hotel is great. From the reception, to the room, to the WiFi, AC, the dinner, not to mention the breakfast. I will definitely stay here again. Breakfast has a wide variety of items to choose from. I do recommend this hotel 💯.
Staying here is an antidote to the growth of corporate chains. Now one the oldest hotels in the city but still delivers on guests requirement at the high end. A safe place in the heart of the city with easy access to vital services.
That when i entered the hotel, they were able to welcome me and then at the reception they also welcomed me well and called the manager for me. i was taken to the room which was well kept and I really appreciated the days I stayed there. Our Meetings were hosted by the Imperial express hotel.
This hotel is currently under renovation and I definitely want to return once complete as very expectant of good things from the renovation. Stayed in a newly renovated room which was very comfortable and well lit and designed. Hot showers with all modern amenities. Food and service was also good and staff attentive. One downside is the neighbouring facilities - one of which had a rather loud conference that went on till the wee hours of the morning and I could hear every word. Double (even triple!) glazed windows are needed for this hotel. But other than that, it was a very nice / comfortable and short stay. The hotel has kept some of its quaint and rustic feel whilst upgrading to a more modern feel. I hope they will keep some of their rustic treasures - like the early 1900s pictures and history in the hotel even as they remodel.…
Review is based upon knowing about the renovation when booking and that the price was significantly reduced. Having just stayed at PanAfric in Nairobi where the renovations are a major inconvenience, the Imperial’s work is more considerately managed with little impact on my stay. Staff are helpful and engaging most notably Victor. Food is delicious although there could be more Kenyan dishes. The reception and top floor bar have considerable character, and are great places to relax. After looking at the post renovation images there is a danger that the hotel will become as bland as the sister hotel in Kisumu which would be unfortunate
One of the best place to stay on the lake side , the staff from the reception to the Restaurant very friendly, The room was great and recently refurbished. Staff assisted us carry our bags to the room
I’m currently staying here at the Imperial Hotel. I’ve never felt the need to write a bad review for a hotel before, but I suppose there is a first time for everything. At the time of writing, the hotel is undergoing massive renovation/construction. None of this was communicated prior to or at the time of booking, so I was surprised to learn of the construction/renovation upon check-in, but the lobby seemed quiet enough so I didn’t think it would be a problem. As soon as you enter into the area where the rooms are located, you’ll see that entire corridors are torn apart and the entire center of the hotel is a massive construction site. Not only loud but unsafe (there is a portion of the walkway missing on the 4th floor where my room is. The construction is so loud (jackhammering) that it is impossible to sleep, work, or do anything during the hours of construction (8am-5pm). With renovations this extensive, the owner should close the hotel for however long necessary so as not to risk loosing customers. Anyone who puts profit ahead of customer satisfaction is a poor business person. The food/lunch at the 5th floor restaurant was okay but pretty scant and not very flavorful. Not to mention the waitress put in a side order I didn’t ask for an billed me nonetheless for it. I would have moved out of here already if I were to be staying more than one night. I can’t wait to leave tomorrow. I’m sure the place is nice enough when not under renovation, but I would not stay here anytime in the near future.…
