This is a new bar, restaurant and campsite on the shores of Lake Victoria - opened Dec 2013. It offers arguably the best sunsets in the world. Our facilities include a large lawn for camping, modern ablution block and a bar and kitchen with a large open dining area. The site offers a 360 degree unrivaled view of the lake and the surrounding city. This is a great place to experience the best of the lake and to mingle with the locals who also love this place. Weekends is always a blast with live music and other fun activities.

Pro's. Wonderful views of the lake. Con's. Super annoying staff. Security took away a carton of milk and bottle of water for a 1 year old baby who was with us. Really? Wait staff is ridiculous. Surly or confused or generally unhelpful. I probably could write three paragraphs of the stupid things I saw: a wait staff putting down a tray to have 20 napkins blow away. They have little basic training. They don't confirm or double check large group orders. So, don't be surprised if you get an extra beer or soda. We ended up with an extra beer at our table and I mentioned it to the wait staff and he stared at me like I was a fly who had just landed on the end of his nose. I mentioned it again and he said, yeah, I got it. Really? Last but not least we waited an hour for our food. I had almost forgotten we had ordered at all. And when it came it was mediocre at best. By then the fries were cold. They could have been from last night. Definitely not worth the wait. My recommendation. Go somewhere else to eat! Stop by for a beer or two. The view is fine. Otherwise, don't expect too much.

Visited here with family for late lunch. It took approximately 30minutes for our order to be taken and another 20minutes for our order to arrive. The fish was great but chicken was undercooked. Alot needs to be done about the service, both pace and attitude of employees towards guests. Otherwise the views are to die for, especially the sunset.

We just ate there every day we were there. Being the weekend they had music (DJ for Friday and Saturday) and a live band on Sunday from 2pm. The food and drinks is very well priced. You must check your bills carefully, it is all digitized but needs double checking. We wanted to taste a local dish - omena - that they don't serve but they were able to get us some. The staff are very friendly and efficient (specially Sharon). The manager and the security supervisor were very attentive.

The place can be accessed via private or public means of choice. The service was great, the food was amazing..The place was vert clean..It's a nice place to get away from the heat of Kisumu city. They have boat rides across the lake, their food and alcohol are with a budget range. The sunset is amazing makes the whole experience perfect. Carry something warm because in the evening it gets a bit cold and there are mosquitoes.

It is a really nice place actually. The only problem is that both times I have been to Dunga Hill Camp the waiter tried to rip us off, providing us with a badly written manual receipt, which after careful calculation was around 20% higher then what we were supposed to pay. I think they do this almost systematically to clients, with the manager being in on it. I never reported this to the owner when I was there because I do not want to get people fired, but the owner should know that this is happening and watch his staff more closely.

This is a lovely bar on Lake Victoria that offers great views over the lake! The Bar is well stocked and drinks are reasonably priced. Food was pretty good, we both had fish and no complaints! It’s a bit out of the way so you’ll need to get a boda there but it’s worth it to get out of the hustle and bustle of Kisumu town. There’s plenty of outdoor seating so you can enjoy the sunset over the lake :) would recommend for an evening!

I camped in Dunga point for two days.I did not carry my own tent. They provided everything.I arrived pretty late and they had set up the tent for me.The kitchen was closed but they kindly opened for me and made the some delicious fish. The manager of the place - Nelson is exceptional, will always check to see whether you are ok.Giving it a very homely vibe.We were the only ones camping. So it was very peaceful, right by Lake Victoria. On weekends it can be noisy because people come to eat and drink and thier is a live band. The food is good, drinks are available.Kids looked very happy, boat rides available,no hyacinth.Highly reccommend it for couples .

This is the best spot to visit when in Kisumu. DHC offers camping/picnic grounds by the shores of Lake Victoria. A perfect place to hang out with family and friends as you watch the most spectacular sunset ever. Prices and quite fair ($2 to $100).
